This is one of the greatest horror movies of the 21st century. I really can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years. What made this zombie movie different is the character development. A wide range and depth of characters who you grew to care about. The movie takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, with plenty of tragedy and look away moments, and plenty of humor peppered in between. The DVD containing the extra scenes like the news bulletin and Andy’s descent into madness just added to an already excellent movie. It’s too bad they didn’t make a sequel with the 4 survivors fending off the zombies on the island and being rescued and brought to a place where the virus was contained or so they thought
I know this has been said before, but zombies that can run are absolutely terrifying. I don't know how anyone can survive an encounter with a group of them let alone a single zombie.
Yup why do u think as the movie the went on you saw society brought to a horrifying conclusion by the undead and what was left of the once heavily inhabited world was in shambles as they left the mall

The original Dawn of the Dead is the peak of zombie movies. Romero's original trilogy is the peak of zombie movies. Show some respect. All this movie has going for it are the opening ten minutes.
I like how, despite being a comedy, Shaun of the Dead is generally accepted as being the most realistic depiction of how a zombie outbreak would go. It's not some world-ending event, just a minor disruption that we eventually overcome and learn to deal with.
It did hurt, the stunt girl took a pretty serious blow to the head. She wasn’t supposed to come in so hot like that but the directors loved it so they used it. It’s in the directors cut

It’s scary to know that during this morning scene there were a lot of people in the western hemisphere who were still asleep not knowing that outside of their house the Apocalypse was taking place. And then you have the people who ended up getting attacked by the Zombies right after they woke up. Those people didn’t even have a chance to know what was going on. It was too late for them.

@raw dog my theory is that she had a key, her family seems close with Ana. Maybe in the process of the girl getting bitten she ran over to Ana’s and used a key, but in the process turned before she got to their bedroom. If you noticed when the front door was open to the house when Ana escaped, the little girl had to open it before she turned because these zombies can’t operate doors. Also sure Ana and Louis would have heard something banging their front door open
I was in the theatres for this flick back in the summer of 2004. And from the get-go, the film went all in (as you can see in the video above). People were still entering the theatre (since they were latecomers), they were still looking to find their seats, mind you, and all the crazy zombie action went down in no time. Fast zombies can definitely add an intense layer of terror to the zombie genre. Their speed and agility make them much more dangerous and unpredictable compared to traditional slow-moving zombies. If they existed, humanity would face an incredibly tough battle for survival. The key to surviving such a nightmare would likely involve strategic planning, quick reflexes, and fortified defenses to hold off the fast-moving hordes. It would be a grim scenario, but it would also push human ingenuity and resilience to the limit.
Using reasonable assumptions as to the abilities of the zombies and the vector of their creation and spawning, both mathematically and as a practical matter there's an excellent chance that humanity survives and defeats them. And it would not take too long -- a matter of weeks at most. But A LOT of humans will die in the initial few days.
Your assessment is intriguing. It’s true that, with effective strategies and assuming certain reasonable parameters, humanity could potentially overcome a zombie outbreak. Key factors would include the speed of the zombie infection, the nature of their behavior, and the response efficiency of human forces. The initial period would indeed be critical, with high casualties expected, but with rapid and coordinated action, it’s conceivable that civilization could adapt and survive in the long term.
It sounds like you're referring to the idea that the US Navy, or possibly the military in general, would be resilient in the face of challenges. The Navy certainly has a strong track record of adaptability and endurance. What specific challenge or context are you thinking about?
This made me a fan of zombie/apocalyptic films. I wish I could delete my memory of it in my head to relive the excitement and sheer terror that I felt when I first saw this film.
The whole scene with her neighbor with the gun always cracks me up. She’s across the street in her own yard and he’s walking towards her gun in hand telling her to get back. Ambulance comes outta nowhere and just hits the guy in the middle of the street, it’s like the driver didn’t give a shit and her reaction to all of this going down is just a plain ol’ “😮” lmao.

That sounds like a powerful and striking moment. Combining a visual like birds flying away with a song as intense as Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" can create a dramatic and memorable scene. The contrast between the calm of the birds and the forcefulness of the song likely amplifies the impact.
The fact that everybody is just running and everybody is terrified and the and the ambulance and fire trucks and police cars are just gazing around and the cars crashing and the helicopters flying around the city gives me the absolute chills
Yup. I remember seeing it in the theater when it came out when I was younger and thinking "Fast zombies!? Holy shit, we'd be screwed." and being blown away by this opening scene.
Johnny Cash's presence in the opening credits really does add a special touch. His distinctive voice and the tone of his music can set the perfect mood for a show or film, making it memorable and impactful from the very start. What project are you referring to?

The greatest zombie film of all time. Zack Snyder’s style is unique and unmatched. If you’re not a fan of his work, you’ve got to admit that he makes some of the most memorable scenes in all of film.
The style, the pacing, the character development, the filmography, the writing and the acting. I'm just here to witness how a dude who created this masterpiece went on to do too many drugs and lose too many brain cells over the 17 years to eventually create his second zombie movie in 2021 which PALES in comparison on all accounts.
This was film was a masterpiece. His new movie didn't even rival his old movie. I can even watch army of the dead while chilling because there's no tension. But this movie will scare the hell out of you.
James Gunn, mate. He's responsible for the wit and near satire of this movie. Zack Snyder just added the sprinkles. This, along with 300, are what Snyder's best at - movies that are self aware and doesn't take itself too seriously.
I thought army of the dead was awesome! Snyder knows how to develop character arcs and keep them engaged with each other. In the original I didn’t like CJ in the beginning but towards the end he’s a badass who went out in style
The thing is that Snyder wrote that movie all by himself and all I know that his writing is really bad he is good at directing and doing character development and adding jokes that doesn't feel unsual or cringe but yeah his writing really sucks because army of the dead was just written by him if it was with James gunn or someone else it would have been better but it's ok dude everyone try something new it's good for him that he tried but from now on he should I guess just direct the movies 😂
It sounds like you’re describing a particularly intense type of zombie scenario. Zombies that run, punch, and climb definitely add a heightened level of fear and urgency compared to the traditional slow-moving, lumbering undead. The sense of danger and the challenge they present can make for a very thrilling and terrifying experience in games, movies, or books.
"**Dawn of the Dead**" is definitely a classic in the zombie genre! Its mix of tension, social commentary, and intense scares makes it a standout. The zombie effects and the way it builds suspense contribute to its reputation as both cool and creepy. Glad you enjoy it!
4:55 when you notice the general public watching the movie being filmed and the fire department waiting to put the fire out on the left of the screen. You won't be able to unsee it. Lol. 😂
Let's just say in the movie those were stunned civilians and a fire fighter who Had just responded to the car fire and were just clueless as too what the hell was going on and later on the zombies came for them end of story (:
This scene still realistic to this day this movie was so real now we have a list actors that survive the impossible due to plot armor I love how no one survived in this
No one survived bc people being stupid. They trust one idiot - who happily tells everyone there that he only looks out for himself - to guard the sewer door. If someone was by that door, they could have fortified it and not lost the mall.
Always liked this film for the little details. As she's ending her shift at the hospital, two paramedics leave to respond to a call and you hear them say "it's starting" which suggests some people were aware of the outbreak before it made the news.
It’s definitely a different vibe when zombies sprint instead of shuffling. Films like "28 Days Later" and "World War Z" feature the fast-moving kind, which can ramp up the intensity and fear factor. If you're not a fan of that kind of terror, you might prefer classics like "Night of the Living Dead" or "Dawn of the Dead," where the zombies are more the slow, shuffling type.
0:51 - 0:58 was truly a masterpiece scene, they don't make horror scenes like that anymore with that type of horror theme playing.. Really one of the top 5 best zombie movies ever for me.
I love all the little nods to Romero's original...The Cameos by Savini, Foree and Reiniger, The WGON chopper, The Gaylen Ross Shop in the mall, Wooley's Diner, and the use of the BP trucks. The creatives showed real respect to George's original vision.
This has to be the most compelling zombie opening scene I’ve seen. I love how this scene plays out in a beautiful suburban neighborhood in the morning. Like that is rare to see in zombie films. Also the fact they shot this movie in a REAL suburban neighborhood is so cool. I always wondered how the neighbors felt, if they were given a heads up that they were going to shoot a movie.. like did it affect their commute did they have to park somewhere else and walk to their homes? I always wondered that.
The vehicle crashing into the gas pumps and than exploding, always cracks me up way back from the first time I saw this movie when it came out as a 8 year old kid lmfao
It's legit amazing how much Zack Snyder's cinematography has evolved since 2004. It really stands out against other films and looks beautiful each time

Imagine waking up to this nightmare. Fast zombies terrify me, humanity would definitely go extinct if they existed

The sense of danger and the challenge they present can make for a very thrilling and terrifying experience in games, movies, or books.
I gonna say Dawn of the Dead is the coolest movie and creepiest with Jumpscares and a movie about Zombies 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🧟♀️🧟🧟🧟♀️🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️

It goes well with the scene 🤷
This scene still realistic to this day this movie was so real now we have a list actors that survive the impossible due to plot armor I love how no one survived in this

No one survived bc people being stupid. They trust one idiot - who happily tells everyone there that he only looks out for himself - to guard the sewer door. If someone was by that door, they could have fortified it and not lost the mall.
Always liked this film for the little details. As she's ending her shift at the hospital, two paramedics leave to respond to a call and you hear them say "it's starting" which suggests some people were aware of the outbreak before it made the news.
Any zombie movie where they full on sprint towards their victims is an automatic fuck no for me, that shit is terrifying.
This movie and 28 days/weeks later are the GOATS of the modern(post 2005) zombie horror films.
Not to argue but actually 28days weeks they were not zombies they were alive with the rage virus but i get what your saying
@@newmanoutdoors1564 28 weeks later is zombie movie
0:51 - 0:58 was truly a masterpiece scene, they don't make horror scenes like that anymore with that type of horror theme playing.. Really one of the top 5 best zombie movies ever for me.

Best zombie movie ever made hands down, movies ain't the same anymore.
Train to Busan and 28 Days Later are just as good.
Snyder knows Romero's original is the best zombie movie ever.
@@aakashsaini2184 Oh hell nah
When you think an opinion is a universal fact, love stupid comments. And many amazing movies came out after...
@@Tommyknocker. you're right 28 days later is a better film
Hands down to the best zombie movie of the 2000's.
Shaun of the dead is
This is how you start zombie apocalypse: no warning, no preparation, it's inevitable, instant and ubiquitous.
This is my favorite movie ever! Waking up to a zombie apocalypse like this is my all time worst nightmare.
I love all the little nods to Romero's original...The Cameos by Savini, Foree and Reiniger,
The WGON chopper, The Gaylen Ross Shop in the mall, Wooley's Diner, and the use of the BP trucks.
The creatives showed real respect to George's original vision.
Do some of yall remember how they played this on channel USA to get people to got see it in theaters. Miss those times.
Yeah i was in elementary lol.im 28 now
This has to be the most compelling zombie opening scene I’ve seen.
We need more from this type of outbreak in zombie movies, to watch the World colapse
Read the original world war z book, that’s exactly what it’s about

Happy 20th Anniversary to this best zombie movie remake! This was my very first zombie film when I was a kid.
The vehicle crashing into the gas pumps and than exploding, always cracks me up way back from the first time I saw this movie when it came out as a 8 year old kid lmfao
Lmao. It’s so dramatic . Didn’t even need to happen lol
This pops up in my feed a week before the vaccine?
Oh no
Noooooo!
@mason deeks are you joking or not cuz this is by far the most stupidest thing I’ve heard this year.
It's January 1rst 2021;)
😂😂😂😂😂
The way this single scene was better than all of Army of the Dead
Remember when this movie first came out. I had the biggest crush on this woman when I was a kid.😂😂
It's legit amazing how much Zack Snyder's cinematography has evolved since 2004. It really stands out against other films and looks beautiful each time
One of my favorites of all time
Same
This is my all time favorie zombie movie ever, the tense opening, the title sequence that shows the apocalyspe in minutes, just pure chaos and shows the downfall of the world, likable characters especially the one you hate but eventually liking in the end (Cj is my fave because he is smart and you actually realize he is right that's why he is a dick in the mall), the montage of them having fun in the mall and forgetting the outside world, and lastly that truck scene, just fucking good, zack snyder nailed this remake, I actually prefer this over the original which is also amazing,I can't wait to see army of the dead
Yes you can tell this movie was made out of passion.
@@antoniudraculea4507 yeah i agree with you guys, this is Zack Snyder's best movie.... and everytime i watch this movie i get obsessed with Disturbed's down with the sickness haha ya'll know why, and the jazzy cover works so well

The person at 4:21 was just chilling 😂😂 I can imagine this happening with today generation

This is probably one the best zombie movies ever made
One of the scariest zombie film of my childhood. And definitely one of my favorite zombie films. Made by one of my favorite directors. The one and only Zack Snyder. "When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the Earth."
Zack Snyder be underrated asfff
that line is from a different movie, it's called "Dawn of the Dead", and was made in 1978 by a guy called George Romero. ;-)
@@ImaginaryNate not only underrated but wrongfully vilified. I wouldn't even call him my favourite director but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love what he does.
