I used to run many of those rides on the Boardwalk there and had a few nice memories of being under the boardwalk with those frisky girls coming over the mountain to the beach in S.Cruz from S.Jose!
I lived in California for 14 years. Grew up in the northeast and moved to Cali in 1996. Then left and moved to Florida in 2010. To be fair, in the late 90s, Cali was actually pretty great. It's really gone downhill with most of the damage happening starting around the mid 2000s. It's actually quite sad in the end. Such a beautiful state. I also feel for a lot of the people there. Thanks to this band. They put a smile on my face and brought back memories to a time where CA was a destination for many.
This song was exactly as funny as I knew it would be, what really surprised me is how they NAILED the sound of The Beach Boys. Extremely high quality stuff!

I left Commiefornia back in late 1997 when I was 15 (divorced parents) and moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. As an adult and father, I'm even more grateful that I decided to leave that state when I did. As a native Midwesterner who was recruited to CA in 1979 for a job following graduate school, I can attest to the truth of these lyrics. CA should lead our nation in every meaningful metric but liberal governance has ruined this once magnificent state. My wife is a native of Los Angeles and finally was pushed over the edge by Newsom's radical policies--legalized shoplifting, abortions on demand and sex change operations for minors. We left last year and have never been happier.
We should support abortions on demand considering it's Democrats demanding them it'll take them out of the genepool and in a generation we wont have a problem anymore. I don't understand why Republicans don't fully support Democrats killing themselves off. My logic is sound.
Yea, a quick Google search reveals minors need parental consent in all states to get a sex change. Abortions should be legal too. I'm sure Newsom is doing a shit job, but so did Arnold, and California has been a mess for over a decade at least.
Good job. I would have started with, "The Left Coast has the sunshine, and the homeless get so tan". Otherwise, great lyrics and stunning production!!!!
Good one. The Bee should wait a year and do it again with new lyrics, cherry-picking the best ones from this thread. And make the vocals a little more clear, it's tough to hear "SF" at the opening, so I'm glad there was text. Even with that, this is the most awesome cover I've ever seen.
I visited northern part of California not too long ago. Natural beauty, great weather. Its insane how badly government has to screw something up to make people want to leave that.
Californians keep voting the same politicians in...with the same policies.. its unfortunate that enough of you in California choose to leave rather than fight the very system you put and keep in place. Elections have consequences. I think all of America is currently recognizing this.

Instead of people from the dust bowl and elsewhere trying desperately to get to California in order to work and just survive, they are now LEAVING in droves to get out of California--just to survive. One of the most beautiful and naturally blessed geographic regions in the world ruined in many ways. I left Commiefornia back in late 1997 when I was 15 (divorced parents) and moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. As an adult and father, I'm even more grateful that I decided to leave that state when I did. I wouldn't want to raise my children in CA back when I lived there, let alone the current state of affairs that CA is in. Plus living in rural VA, I've learned what real freedom is (as free as one can be with the ever increasing and restrictive federal laws lately) and most importantly, found God via some now lifelong friends from highschool.
Agree, I grew up in Upstate New York. Moved to California. After getting out of the military, I needed to move to a red state to get a job.

What state did you move to. Other states are shitholes too but for different reasons , bad food, bad weather etc....
I left nearly 20 years ago for the Midwest and I’ve never been happier.
I just got a message that my daughter touched down in California today to join her husband. They will reside for two years. I told her two days ago that California is like a different country. I pray for their well being.
It just depends where they are at, there is lots of good people here and lots of good places, it's just expensive and if you're in Southern California it's a giant traffic jam anywhere you go. That being said I have to say we have definitely made about a dozen left turns over the last decade or two, it is so bad I am ready to move out.
We left California 17 years ago and have not regretted one minute. It was the best and wisest life choice I ever made. This is a great parody guys, I grew up listening to the Beach boys they were my favorite group. You nailed it!😀
I left California in 2006. Glad I did as well. 👍🏼I was born in the Netherlands, lived in California since I was 9 yrs old until I was fifty (yes, I lived there 40 years!!) and felt like I had a weight removed from my shoulders.
The only thing my wife & I miss: There was so much to see & do there. A weekend staying on Queen Mary in Long Beach. Shopping the days away in Solvang. All the rides at Magic Mountain in Valencia. Eating a great meal at Clifton’s Cafe, downtown LA. Driving the majestic PCH to sunny Santa Barbara. Visiting Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley. Relaxing amongst the beauty of Big Bear. A fun trip to Catalina Island. Staying a long weekend in clean Orange County. Taking in the scenery of Monterey. Seeing a movie at the grand El Capitan in Hollywood. San Diego was a great city to visit. The close proximity to Las Vegas. We do miss that a lot. BUT, THAT’S IT!! So much else was wrong with that state!!!
Why didn't you make that choice 27 years ago or 32?
@@generalpatton838 I left California 32 years ago. Haven't been back even to visit.
@@dooglitas You have amazing foresight knowing what Simpson/Mazoli would do to your state.
The shot of the guy crying AOC-style as he's looking through the chain link fence into the empty U-HAUL lot is supreme comedy genius.
lol
E McGowin: Hey, didn't recognize the AOC connection till you pointed it out. Even funnier.
Gavin Newsom: U-Haul Salesman of the year! 🤣
I like the guy with the machete! Hysterical
Thats it!
This is the most accurate and incredible video that I have ever seen-
Truly revealing truth and reality!
What an A PLUS job!
Thanks for your efforts in putting it together-
Newsome needs to be exposed!
Great job!
I wish we could go back to the time of the original beach boys song. We had all of our freedoms and it was a great time to be young. The young these days have no idea just how much they've been denied!!
So glad I was a kid back then. I was telling a friend today that I was glad I was raised at that time.
Whilst they're absolutely spot on with why, for someone living in tiny UK, when someone says they "wish" they could leave california... YOU CAN!! Go! Pick your state and get on with it! You don't have to worry about getting a visa or anything which you're so lucky for
Trouble is Californians are stuck dealing with high taxes and shit…they’d have to pay exorbitant prices to move too so for many they’re simply stuck there…
You can leave uk also .
Easier said than done if you're in your early twenties with just an okay-ish amount of money in the bank.
It costs money to move. It ain't cheap.
Then there's the wife unit. She loves it out here. I'm too old to find another one.
Absolutely outstanding parody! This could rate at the top of the list of your great parodies. Of course, I may be prejudiced because I am a fan of the Beach Boys sound, but the lyrics were great on their own. Well done Babylon Bee.
God Bless you sir!! Great song expressing how many of us feel!! Thank You!! 🙏🏻♥️
I really do wish I could time travel back to the 1960s California the Beach Boys were singing about. Must've been amazing.
It was. I’ve lived here since 1957.
Yeah, pretty much.
I've lived here since I was born. Moved out for about a year and a half moved back and have regretted it ever since. Watched it go from a red state to a blue state, it has not been a fun time.
Yeah, back when the Beach Boys were involved with Charles Manson, drugs and occult religions. LOL
Despite all that it was happier times.
@@LairdDavidson One of the Beach Boys, Dennis, knew him and cut off that relationship quickly when he discovered what a creep he was. You're an idiot, congratulations!
Absolute genius! I love the soviet-era commanders cap on the keyboardist; nice touch.
As a huge beach boys fan, and someone who lived in California for a few years, you nailed this!!! Lol. So glad I’m back in Texas! ❤️
Welcome back home!!!
No place like Texas.
Don't forget that Dems never learn, and they're always right. FFS don't let all those Blue U-Haulers fleeing Cali for TX turn the Lone Star state into California 2.0
Texas is to humid for me or I would of left already
Me too!
DUDE!!!! THIS HAS BEEN ME FOR A FEW YEARS NOW!!! BORN & RAISED IN SO CAL BUT CAN'T WAIT TO BAIL 😂😂😂 THANK YOU FOR MY THEME SONG 😂❤😂❤😂
I lived there my whole life until two years ago when the militant liberalism was overwhelming. I’m not even gonna say what state I moved to because I love it so much and I don’t want those same Californians I left behind getting any ideas. I just hope they don’t bring their stupid views if they leave; those who made that bed and ruined my state should be forced to stay and lay in it!
Now that was good.
I hope you didn't come to Texas like the rest of your kind!
I'd rather not say where I went but looking at the "Life After California" group, it appearss the secret has already gotten out.
@@dr.elvis.h.christ well we have enough of you Calis in Texas.
They already flipped Arizona and now they’re coming to your town… stupid is as stupid does
Best version of this song I've ever heard! 💥
Ya'll are killing it with these parodys, I LOVE THEM , makes my day
I came to California during the golden state Era of the 1980's. This video hits me hard.
As a California ex-pat, this is your best parody to date! And the real cool thing is that it is all true. If you asked me for some things that suck about California now to out in your song, it would have a thousand verses!
Great parody. As someone who grew up in the 80's it's sad because California used to be the place to be. I would have never imagined that it would get this bad.
0:45 I love how this part is shot like the "Good Vibrations" music video.
I’m getting out of California after 50 years. I’m so ready to go. Close. This song is so true. Make the move and go. It took me 2 years to finally decide.
lol! as someone living in california.. this hits it right on point 😆
Same here. I’m in the Bay Area. It’s kinda funny but it’s not. 😔😝
Agreed. The only thing keeping me here right now is my extended family. Pretty soon, even that might not be enough.
Please stay there no one wants you in their state
Agreed.
SF BA Native here and this was spot on, what the Commies have done to my home is infuriating 🤬🤬
I’ve said it before,” Kyle has an amazing voice! “that’s what really makes the song parodies so ridiculously funny!
It’s not Kyle
Indeed, it Brandon:)
This song makes me want to move to Cali, just so I can leave.
Do it
Let's not get crazy now lol
@@VerbilKint people are crazy
Stop in Needles and sample the gas prices and you'll turn around quick enough.
Probably leave with a drug problem because it's so insane e you would need drugs to remain sane
Thank you guys for my first laugh of the day! I 💕 this song and am now going to share it.
Lived in California my entire life before 2018. Moved to Florida and I couldn't be happier. Really enjoyed your song!
Hopefully you left the liberal ideals there when you moved to Florida. We’re a great free state, and we want to keep it that way.
Don't even THINK about voting for a Democrat. You have no right to ruin Florida.
@@sherriebounds5243 I never voted democrat in my life.
This song makes me want to leave California even more.
So do it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
LOLL
I cain't blame ya for wanting to leave that open air sewer!
Every word is true. Have spent almost my entire life in California and I truly love this state. If y’all leave, who will fight for it? We can’t leave now, too old and 3 of our 5 children live here still. Their leaving would be the only reason we would too unless something anymore drastic happens. We are in a catch 22 situation. Please pray for us. There are a lot of us conservatives here caught in their voting fraud.
Can you go live near one of the other 2 children?? I’m in NJ, it’s definitely no where near as bad as Cali but I’m getting out hopefully before the housing market crashes & more of this now sanctuary state goes to pot. They also keep redistricting our towns here so it’s basically impossible for them to loose!! I’m praying for you!!! God Bless 🙏❤️!!!
Oh my if lights out this last week has not made you all pack up...I don't know what else would do it...a major earthquake?
I agree. Im not running. Too many people have given up on our home and im going to stay and fight. It’s a losing battle, but if I go down, I go down knowing I tried.
@@sarahhunter1114 yes Sara, I’m glad to hear it. Like the saying goes..” just one little candle can light the darkness” glad to know you are there too. 👍👍🙏
