Hi, I'm looking for a change of career. I've been stuck in the same dull job for 20 years and im really interested in switching to becoming a locksmith and working for myself. I have zero experience of locks and I'm wondering if I've left it to late to venture into this industry. Do you think someone from a different job background can come in and pick it up quickly if they have some ability.
@Father kamp due to covid it was all postponed, definitely not the right time to leave full time secure employment to try and be self employed. Plan on doing it this summer, just not sure how worthwhile these locksmith courses actually are.

How much do I pay for this 20 days? I'm 41 got a law degree from Uni it's about as much use now as a kick in the arse lol. I did some time in London on the buildings. Got kind of handy with tools and i do my own electric bikes ..so I like to fiddle and fabricate , do a spot of welding grinding soldering etc. I might be good at this and I'm persistent. I dont drive but in london if I could make a few hundred quid scooting about I'd be happy...i could go back to the books in my spare time. Too old now to go back to labouring . Cheers.

£160 for a assessment day with Scott and I on the van , See what we do and see what your like ,if you like it and we like you we draw a plan up on how and what you need to get off the blocks, bear in mind your going to need at least £15 K to start this business , we don't sell the equipment, but we can point you to suppliers that will sell you everything you need , at a fraction of the cost of going to UK suppliers. don't get me wrong UK suppliers have great products but there are alternatives and great deals from Europe and Far East in you know what your looking for .

Hi Well we could give a certificate , pat on the back , or even three cheers down the pub , but what will be a lot more help is Scott and I on the end of the phone if you get stuck on a job , problem I have with all these locksmith courses is they just want your money , sell you some gear and wave goodbye, So lets cut to the chase , forget all the bullshit certificates learn the job hands on and you will be making too much money to worry about bits of paper stuck on your wall , if you want a certificate, join Federation Of small Businesses Fantastic value for money , and an asset to your new career , Regards Peter

The one thing they all have in common? Always pedal their sales pitch then try and sell you a tool / tools at the end of it. Ive realised now they are nothing more than a glorified sales pitch. and while some of the info can be useful, there simply is no substitute for doing the job hands on.
