      @@christopherking1169 Hi Radin, I'm glad you found the video useful.
      If the wand comes out, there are a few things you can check:
      - Make sure it is clean inside so it is not blocked for the steam to pass
      - Make sure you don't accidentally bend the wand against the pitcher wall or bottom
      - Check that you can't easily take it out with your hand. If yes then it has become too loose for some reason. Try to tighten it until you can't pull it out easily.
      Best of luck!

    This is seriously the best tutorial I have ever seen on youtube. So much information, but not too much, you explained everything using videos and stopped whereever it was necessary and did not use any confusing descriptions and got to the point instantly. Also a big like for giving an explanation e.g. why you insert the nozzle into the milk after frothing it.

    hello everyone. i have this machine and never did latte art before. tried making some art with the panarello wand for a month (changing 1-2 things every time to see if it'll help) with no good result. after watching this video i felt some hope thinking now i will be able to do some art. it didn't help, i got better pitchers thinking they may be the problem, not them either. used different milks, no result.
    after a while i stumbled upon dritan alsela's tip on practicing latte art. he puts one pinch of finely ground coffee and practices latte art multiple times on that setting. i tried that too. and after second or third repetition i began to see some patterns. so i figured my foam is not correct, either it has to dissolve a little or it's not homogenously dispersed in the liquid.
    at the moment i'm able to get some patterns and i'm excited. so here're my tips:
    1-don't rush. your circumcised wand is a domestic steam wand, you won't get a whirlpool as fast as you see on those latte art tutorials. keep your wand under the surface until you get your whirlpool going. it's better if you have colder milk and bigger volume, so you'll have more time.
    2-don't rush. you don't have to stretch the milk too much. if you are hearing the spitting sound like in the video you are going to stretch it faster but have bigger foam. deep voiced man is able to make art because of his experience. bigger foam produces the cappucino and it's not possible to paint with it. when you're stretching you have to hear a constant and quiet sound. and after the milk temp reaches your palm's sink it a little, just enough to not hear the stretching.
    it's hard to develop your latte art skills with 2 empty canvases a day but i feel like i'm getting better with the help of this video. thanks.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for your comment! The reason I use this method is that I have a limited amount of milk as it is the amount I like for the coffee. I'm always trying to find the smallest bubble foam that will produce enough texture, and there is the choice to make... either smooth and perfect for latte art, or not as good but with better mouthfeel. Many years passed and still I'm trying to improve it every time, there is so much more than just swirling the milk.
      Deep voiced man wishes you all the best!

The shooting of the tip happens to me very often and it splatters everywhere. It’s scary too! I probably still have PTSD from this. I was about to order the metal tip until someone said that it could void the warranty so, I guess I will try the plastic to hold the tip.

      Thank you for your message, I'm glad it helped. The wand only came out once in 2+ years of daily use so it's not something I'd consider normal, but not all machines are created equal.
      My suggestion is to make sure the inner tube is clear of any obstruction (like milk solids) and that it doesn't touch the edges of the pitcher (that could cause the wand to bend creating pressure that could carry unpleasant stressful consequences)

    I need help please, I just bought this machine and the coffee is great and all but when I want to use the cappuccino maker either for steam or just to run hot water, the machine starts shaking a little bit more and the noise it makes ... It sounds like it's going wild in there. Maybe I'm just to sensitive with my ears I don't know but should I be worried and send it back in order to get a new one.
    Your machine doesn't make noise at all it seems compared to mine.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  2 года назад

      Hi J. That doesn't sound normal, but to confirm, when you froth milk the "steam" button is on and flashing when you froth? Just to make sure you are in the correct mode as it goes back to brew after a few seconds.
      If you just bought it, it's always a good idea to send it back for inspection. Depending on where you live and the consumer law, you could be entitled to a new replacement unit.
      All the best and good luck!

    Can you tell what’s the cause of steam wand spitting water? Before steaming the milk I always give the steam wand am initial spur to release any water reserves but even after that, after some time alongside normal steam I can see the steam wand spitting bits of water. The machine is only a month old.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  Год назад +1

      Hi! What you describe could be normal behaviour. You could try to increase the water temperature to high as they are both related (water and steam). A little bit of water should not be an issue unless it actually interferes with the frothing. If that's the case, as It's brand new you could contact your dealer for advise (repair/replace).
      Hope it helps and best of luck!

    Thank you for your excellent video, may I ask is there any good for the metal panarello wand, is it good for producing cappuccino with big bubble? If you out a cable around the plastic tube , you could not put the metal wand back, could you? Then can you still perform cappuccino?

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  2 года назад

      Hi kin wal, thank you for your comment. The point of the video is to show how to froth milk without the pannarello wand. The problem with the pannarello is that you don't have control on how over the frothing and the results are not as good as without it.
      I haven't tried to put the pannarello back on with the cable tie, but I presume it would be difficult as it does protrude. But again, why would you use the pannarello if you can do better without it?
      For me, the better the milk foam texture the better the mouthfeel, so for cappuccino I recommend not using the pannarello and working to get the best result with the inner wand.
      I hope I answered your questions and let me know if you need any help. All the best!

    Hello, I would like to know at what temperature you have your coffee maker (low, medium or high) because I set it on high so that the coffee would come out hotter and I think it is influencing the vaporization of milk because the jug with the milk heats up right away and it ends up coming out foamy so I can't do my drawings

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  2 года назад

      Hi Pepe, I have the machine set on medium, but I used to have it in high and I didn't experience a noticeable difference when frothing milk.
      What does make a big difference is the temperature of the milk when you start. I keep both the milk and the pitcher in the fridge to have both as cold as possible.
      Another factor is the amount of milk. 280ml take a lot longer to froth than 80ml. The smaller the milk amount, the more difficult it will be and you need a very good technique to achieve good results.
      Don't forget that it takes time to get it right. My suggestion is small changes to see if the result improves or not, plus considering what was mentioned above.
      I hope this helps and all the best!

    thank you for the tips. I tried it with my delonghi, however, when I tried frothing the milk, the rubber nozzle blowed off. Can you show me how to fix the problem please? Another issue that I faced is that water still come out with the steam.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  2 года назад

      Hi Nguyễn Đức. If the nozzle pops, you can try different things. First make sure it is clean inside, then check you are not touching the sides of the pitcher as it could bend. As last resort you can add a cable tie like the one I have in the video.
      For the water problem, make sure you are in steam mode, and that you have enough temperature. Some drops are normal but it should mostly be steam.
      Hope it helps and all the best!

    Great tips! I've done the same with my machine and used a cable tie and I can definitely see the difference. The one issue I'm having now though is that the milk doesn't seem thick enough when I pour it. I get the nice swirl and the glossy texture when I've finished foaming the milk and it looks like it will be good , but then when I pour it seems very milky and doesn't allow for any (or very little) latte art.
    Or sometimes, it might be a little bit thicker but only really the top part of the milk and again when I pour, it is quite thin.
    Any tips for that?

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад +10

      Hi Michael, thank you for your comment.
      Your issue can be due to different reasons so I'll try to list what comes to mind:
      - If you make little foam, may be you are just heating the milk instead of injecting air. Try rising the tip of the wand a tinny bit more and see if that helps.
      - If you only have foam at the top, try mixing the milk after you finish frothing. This way instead of having milk at the bottom and foam at the top you incorporate the foam into the milk.
      - If you pitcher is too high when you pour the milk, the foam will sink. Try pouring the milk slow and very close to the coffee surface and see if it makes a difference.
      - Try a different pitcher. Different spout shapes can make a difference for latter art.
      - Keep practising! It takes time to get it right so don't expect to get it right from the beginning. Eventually you'll get the results you are aiming for.
      I hope this helps and all the best!

      @@sharethegoodstuff5728 thanks very much I'll try those tips. When you say mixing the milk do you mean swirling the jug and tapping? I usually do that at the end but maybe I could try mix it more.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  4 года назад

      Thank you for the comment Tristan.
      Regarding your question, I'll start by stating that with the same coffee beans I've tried both pressurised and non-pressurised and I definitely can tell a difference in taste. Reasons being:
      - You can dial in the extraction as you control it with grind size and tamping pressure (which will vary with different beans)
      - This control will allow you to extract flavours and qualities that you could never get using a pressurised filter, but it is a skill to be learned and perfected
      - It's quite pretty to see the coffee coming out!
      Of course none of this matters if you cannot appreciate the difference so it's a personal preference
      - By using a bottomless portafilter it's much easier tp clean
      I hope this helps and all the best!

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад +1

      Hi Kelly, thank you for your comment. If I understand your question correctly, you mean that after frothing milk the machine is overheated (both coffee buttons blinking). If this is correct, then this is expected behaviour as the machine heats up the heating element to a higher temperature in order to produce steam quickly. This is too hot for brewing coffee so you need to "cool down" the heating element. You can wait until the temperature drops back to coffee values, or you can cool it down yourself but purging water through the wand until it cools down (usually this takes 5-10 seconds). To purge water after you are done frothing milk, press either coffee button (they should be blinking) and rotate the steam knob back down (water should come out the wand). A few seconds later the coffee buttons should stop blinking and you can brew coffee again (don't forget to rotate the steam knob back up).
      Hope it helps and good luck!

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад

      Hi SoSo Cheung. Usually that problem means that there is pressure buildup inside the wand. This could be due to:
      - Wand not being clean inside or something is obstructing the steam
      - The wand bending. Try no to touch the sides or bottom of the pitcher.
      Can you easily remove the wand with your hand? If yes, then check for damage as this should not be the case.
      If you let the wand steam on it's own, does it pop? If yes, then it might be an obstruction inside the wand
      Hope this helps and good luck!

    Excellent video! However, I tied the pannarello with a zip tie, and it still goes flying after approx. 15 seconds. Any idea about what could be the issue? The steam wand should be clean on the inside and outside.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  Год назад +1

      Hi An Na, it seems that sometimes happens to some people. Hopefully you can figure out what is causing the issue.
      The reason why it jumps out is because there is some pressure build up in the wand. If you are sure it is clean, then it could be that you bend the wand by accident, or that you touch the sides of the pitcher. Both actions could create some resistance in the steam flow and the pressure will try to escape somewhere (up the wand). That would easily overcome the zip tie.
      Try in a glass of water and see if you can spot the reason.
      Hope it helps and best of luck!

    I've been using milk that is 2%. Are you using whole milk?

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  4 года назад

      Hi Tom, I've used whole, 2%, lactose free in both variants and achieved similar results. Whole milk tends to hold foam better but other than that it's all about technique and I get the same results regardless of milk type. Science explains that the foam is held by the proteins in milk, not the fat. If you overheat the proteins then they will denature and won't hold the air.
      The biggest difference I've noticed is milk's temperature. I keep both the milk and the pitcher in the fridge to maximise frothing time. Room temperature milk gets too soon to 65º and you risk overheating it, specially in a hot day.
      I assumed that your question was pointing to those issues and I apologise if I am mistaken. All the best!

      Hi Jeremy, thank you for your comment! I believe you refer to the amount of coffee output. I aim to get a 2:1 ratio so with 14-15g of grounded coffee, I want 28-30g of liquid coffee. I used a scale to calibrate it and on the dedica you can save the shot time for each button.
      With a manual pump I guess you can use a timer and a scale a couple of times until you get consistency and then do it by eye.

      If you got the position and spin correct, then you are 90% there! What I do I just keep my fingers resting in the side oposite to the wand and wait until it's too hot to touch like you mentioned. That is around 60º Celsius (what you want). If you need more guidance you could use a milk thermometer which is inexpensive and accurate enough for this. Then when you know what to look for you won't need it anymore. Best of luck!

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад

      Hi Stan, thank you for your comment. Mostly hot milk is 99% of the time due to the wand being too deep below the milk surface. My suggestion is to slowly lower the pitcher until you find the correct depth. Keep in mind that as the milk grows and swirls you will need to adjust this position.
      If you are interested, I made a video that digs deeper in detail about the frothing process:

      Share the good stuff just watched it, thank you. It’s interesting, I should have the wand in the correct position with a decent whirlpool but still just a small layer of the proper foam with liquid milk on the bottom. When you pour it just splashes the liquid and then heaps the little bit of micro foam on top. Nothing like pouring wet paint. The only thing I can think of is that my delognhi is a different cheaper model which is only 99 dollars so maybe the frother is just not as good even though it is the same exact wand. I may also be doing it for a little too long, not sure if that makes a difference. Will keep trying. Did it take you a long time to get it right?

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад

      @@stancurry6265 I'm glad you found the video interesting. The correct tip position is the tricky part. If your machine manages to create a decent swirl then it should be capable of producing decent foam. Try with water: first put the wand deep and then slowly move it up and see if you can find the sweet spot.
      It does take time, I believe it took me from day one to decent rosetta about 2-3 months of semi daily practise. Keep trying and eventually you'll get there, it's a skill like any other.

    tengo la misma maquina, eso lo puedes solucionar solamente bajando en anillo rojo plástico que esta arriba de la lanceta, ese anillo esta para solucionar ese problema

      Buenas Luis. Buena idea, de todos modos me quedo mas tranquilo con el lazo de cables.

    I have been trying to froth the milk to get silky smooth for latte but it's always runny.

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  2 года назад

      Hi Rashid, what do you mean by runny? Did you make foam? If so, did you mix it well before pouring it?

    • @rashidamanat2706
      @rashidamanat2706 2 года назад

      Hi, Thanks for your reply. I've tried so many times and after the frothing the milk is not thick enough like you said shiny thick like a paint. The consistency of the milk was same as it was in the bottle just some foam on top. I've tried without panarello too and it's always like just hot milk not thick.

    • @rashidamanat2706
      @rashidamanat2706 2 года назад

      Yes, I always end up with just foam on top and even after mixing it properly the consistency of milk wasn't thick

      @@rashidamanat2706 I see your problem. As there are many variables, let's see if we can pin point the issue. How much milk are you using? Are you getting at least a 3rd increase in volume? (Eg If you start with 200ml, you should get around 300ml of milk + foam) Is the milk constantly spinning as you froth (important)? Do you mix it well enough afterwards? What type of milk are you using?
      Hopefully I can tell you more after you fill in the dots...
      All the best!

    I appreciate you for sharing this. Simple yet very practical solution! When I saw your frothing milk technique, your approach made sense and will work ( it was the same as I was taught a few months ago) Kindest regards! ☕🧔🏻💓

    Great advice! I have a delonghi 35.31 and I’ve been having trouble getting the right consistency for frothing milk. This helps massively. I do want to ask though, how do you clean the rubber wand when it’s zip tied? Can you still take it off and run it under water or do you just wipe the residue off with a cloth?

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  3 года назад +1

      Hi Christine. I'm glad you liked the video. I clean the wand by putting the machine into brew mode , just after frothing the milk. This will make the two buttons blink as the temperature is too hot for brewing. Then I submerge the wand in water and switch the wand knob back down to activate the pump. A few seconds later I stop it and wipe the wand clean with a cloth. I've been doing this for mare than 2 years and never had a problem so I can confirm it works.
      All the best!

    I got the perfect vortex going but even after that there was barely any froth or texture in the milk. Please help!

    • @sharethegoodstuff5728
      @sharethegoodstuff5728  4 года назад +1

      Hi Avinash, if you got the vortex then you are almost there! Vortex with no froth means you are not injecting air in the milk as you noticed. This you achieve by allowing the tip of the wand to be around 10% outside of the vortex, just enough to let air from outside get inside the swirl without making excessive bubbles.
      I made another video that explains exactly this, check it out and hopefully you will see what I mean and that you are so close to getting the milk the way you want. The link is ruclips.net/video/VEdvExgVj4M/видео.html
      Best of luck!
