      Alexx196 Z Yeah me too , I’ve never played a fighting game tbh. I have only mastered the first person shooter. I picked Street Fighter as a fuck around game thinking it’s just easy to win rounds with random button mashing. I died around 15 times even when I thought I was going to kick my opponents ass , I am on the brink of rage quitting because I wanted this to be a quick easy game that isn’t too challenging. I didn’t know that it would be complex af like that. It’s fun regardless but sucks when you loose.

    • @mropti6350
      @mropti6350 6 лет назад +20

      Hari Vyas If you rage quit because you think button mashing is how you win, you should never have bought the game.

      @DewGetRekt I've been playing shooters since '98... Street Fighter and practically every other fighter is far more complex and has more depth than every shooter I've ever played with the exception of the Quake franchise which is basically a fighter in shooter form.

    This 30 minute video has taught me WAY more than half of the beginner videos on RUclips! I bought this game last week and found this EXTREMELY helpful as I am painfully new! I love the way this game plays and its not confusing like MvC3 or DBFZ. I think having 1 character is better than having 3 with assists and tag ins. Thank you SO SO much for this vid Goo! You rock. Subbed! 🙏

    Dude! You're the first "Beginners' Guide" that i found that is TRULY aimed at beginners. Plus you're an amazing teacher that eases in more complex stuff slowly and clearly...
    Usually, those kind of videos are mostly like: "To play Ryu, it's super easy, you just need, to super EX dash cancel into Shoryuken and combo from double EX V-Trigger critical art crouch cancel to Forword dash forward Shinku Hadouken"...
    To which i respond.... "huh... Qu'est-ce que c'est?!?!?" :O

    Can't express how much this whole video made sense to me. I walked away feeling like I finally have a general understanding of how the game works on a basic level. I was trying to find other beginner videos but they didn't really explain it how you did for someone who's a novice. I put some time into SF4 almost 10 years ago but I pretty much forgot most of what I learned and was trying to find something to get me ready for when 6 comes out

    I have some friends who play other games who just can't get into SF because it used to not flow as much as other games. SFV is way smoother and hopefully they give it a shot. Will give them this video for sure to get then started

    • @CarInMyAss
      @CarInMyAss 7 лет назад +1

      grandCurator I've tried to do this a lot and a lot of people get sick of playing at quick because pretty much any other game you can be competitive and beat the game after you play it for like a day and a half or even 5 or 6 days good enough to hang orbit the game. That's not the case with this game and if they made it that way it would be hard not alienate all the people that love playing at competitively. It's hard to make something in the middle but I think they've done a pretty good job here. It's just that a lot of people that play just whatever is the best seller want to be challenged a little bit but if they get challenged too much like it takes them more than a day to figure out a combo then it's just ridiculous and they give up

I still remember you hanging out in our room at final round the year that Street Fighter 4 came out and you and Mike were hanging together. Had a blast hanging out with you guys. I remember one of you having one of those little dedicated video recorders that's pretty much what a smartphone is now LOL. But I remember your Street Fighter 3 players the Street Fighter 4 guide and you did a good job with that so it's nice to see you doing the same thing with this one

The game makes more sense now and I feel that I'm finally starting to understand SFV after a couple frustrating days of trying to learn everything through looking at the combo inputs screen. I'll have to invest in a fightstick when more become available.

    • @harivyas9550
      @harivyas9550 7 лет назад +1

      Dr. Mike wood I feel like it’s too complex for a fighting game. Fighting games don’t hold much value in the first place in my heart since I care about the amount of content I get for my money. This game is another level of ridiculous for noobs. It’s impossible to win rounds against even other noobs. I am a master of first person shooter games but this fighting game genre is certainly getting on my nerves. Just wish they would keep things simple rather then making shit complicated, because the learning curve is stressfully stretched out if that’s the case making people abandon the game.

    My biggest frustration with tutorials is the people making them say to use Ryu but then none of them use Ryu in a match so we don't get to see the theory put into practice.
    IMO the best thing you can do to help out new people Gootecks is to have you and some of your guests use Ryu in high level play on your Excellent Adventures episodes.
    Here's the problem. EVERYONE says to learn the game to use Ryu yet NO ONE at high levels uses him. Trying to find decent mid to high level play with Ryu is practically impossible because of that. It would be nice to see people like you and Combofiend use this character so those who are learning can see some of the theory you are presenting put into action. It'll also be nice to see how to use Ryu to handle various real world situations (like when someone is applying a ton of pressure and you aren't sure which buttons to use to get out of it).

    As a community, we've really gotten better at this whole tutorial thing. I attribute a lot of that to you, Gootecks. Thank you.

    I’m thankful for this video man. I’m literally doing it while I’m watching. U should do a video when SF6 comes out man it would be awesome. U definitely got my support 😀

    Is it not a problem for you to fight with the stick on your lap? Would you say it is always better to have the stick on a table, so it's rigid and the buttons are always in the same spot. Also: Do you rest your left hand on the Arcade Stick or does it float in the air?

      He rests his hand. And it's just preference if you like it on the hard surface or just your lap

    Using this to help with SF6 since there aren’t any truly noob guides.

    I always find if u want to improve your execution dramatically then play 3rd strike or ssf2thdr for a while as both require very precise motions :)
