its not that simple. 2jz was built to handle high compression. there are many scientific experiments like 2jz vs rb26 or some other comparisons. plus newer doesnt mean better. for example 13b is better than renesis engine due to emission regulations. (renesis engines exhaust port is made to prevent overlap so it can run more clean. but that makes it less powerful.and some other changes). newer engine follows the rules. but the 2jz had fewer limits in its production.
