I'm a year late but very encouraged to see this. I did not want to think about saving up for a DSLR. These lenses are much more within reach, and they will fit my lifestyle better than a separate camera. Thank you!
This is how I feel as well. For a few years I took photos with a DSLR and then spent time editing and processing them after. It was enjoyable but it meant that I had to carry around extra gear with me on every outing and spend extra time processing images. With a smartphone, most of the processing is done in the device, almost instantly (especially with basic astrophotography!) and it seems like adding a lens or two would enhance a modern phone's already-strong image-taking capability - quickly and easily. FYI I'm just a hobbyist. I don't make a living from photography, so my words come with that grain of salt. :)
Also watched part I of this video, so far the best comparison videos for the mobile phone lenses. Showed all strength and weakness for each brand without any bias. Also really liked plainness and down to the point approaching rather than unnecessary and unattractive chats on many YTers. Looking forward for more comparison videos and asking for anamorphic lens comparison like many.
Taylor, thanks for putting together these comparisons on the Moment vs Sandmarc, it's exactly what I needed as I was preparing to make a choice between them! Video idea: I've been longing for a way to reduce the size and weight of my IR converted Nikon and lenses. I wind up taking it on every vacation and trip because you never know when the perfect image will be right in front of you. Some research and information on mobile options for true IR photography would be a huge help. I've checked with the 2 big IR conversion services and they do not do phones, so this seems likely to fall into the compact camera category. The world needs more IR photography, maybe you can help make it easier for those interested to get into it and easier for fans to have the tools in their pocket when the opportunity comes.
OK...#3, ideas for future videos...Taylor, you do such great job explaining stuff, to where I can understand it. Given the fact that all of us are on a different spot on the learning curve....moving edited pictures from pc to phone and to the different social media platforms. I know it sounds pretty elementary but any tips on the work flow would be awesome. Keep up the great work. Significant content!
Bro, it'd cool if you could make a cinematic video using all of Moment lenses to have various types of framing but still doing it all with a Phone. BTW your videos are gold man, I wish I could have that 58mm though, I'm trying to make concert phonetography.
This is the video I was looking for. It clears 70% of my doubts in my mind on what to expect with the new Moment 58mm. I take more videos with Iphone and lease, so I would love to see the comparison for video on the same two lenses from my favourite expert. Take care Taylor Peace.
If this hasn't been done already, I second this request. I like taking outdoor photos and a good filter can go a long way toward reducing glare and reflections!
I was waiting and excited to see this follow up. You've inspired me to adventure further into mobile photography. Your image comparisons really help to understand the product pros and cons. I also appreciate the delivery of your content. It's given to us with a bit of comedy and VFX that break it up, which i appreciate.
Again another great video. Short and to the point, fair and unbiased and cool inserts for depth and variety. Please expand that comparison: Moment vs Sandmarc vs Sirui
A rundown of accessories for better photo/video results from a smartphone outside of the lenses you covered in these two videos would be nice. External mics, lighting, etc.
Do a video showing what’s best for someone wanting to shoot macro photography would be awesome. Also, the pros and cons of using the clip to attach the lenses.
It would be cool if you could do more videos about photography and especially different lenses because there are plenty of brands that offer lenses. Keep doing your videos they’re awesome !
I'd love to see the anamorphic lens on action. But also watching you do a shoot while talking through lens choices and thoughts throughout would be cool!
Would love to see a video on mobile photo & videography that is lightweight & mobile, plus the best editing tips that are fast & easy to use! I love hiking & traveling, but I hate having to carry an extra bag of photography gear... it would be nice to only use an iphone & a few moment lenses without significantly sacrificing quality!
I definitely agree with the request of a film on making videos using Moment lenses and a Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal, for beginners. Thank you for the comparison of the 60mm and 58mm.
First of all i have to say that i love your content! And you killed this review, far away the best on yt at this time. Hmm..Video idea? How about behind the scenes and some edit tips and tricks?
Great match up here. I was literally looking into this Moment lens yesterday. Trying to keep up with creating something daily and don't always have my camera body and lenses with me. I know comparison videos like this are tough to put together (pre-production and post), so thank you. More like these are always helpful.

Hey Taylor - how about a review showing what a day in the field with a Sandmarc Anamorphic lens looks like using different lens filters and say the "Fimlic" app on an iPhone?
I would like to see a video of you comparing the photo and video footages of iPhone (with or without the use of external lenses) with a vlogging camera or a DLSR :)
Just recently discovered your reviews and was blown away by how well you know your stuff! I shoot a lot of macro, so I’d love to see a comparison of macro lenses compatible with iPhone 8 + & your final recommendation. I want to make a good investment in quality lenses, but still can’t make up my mind between Sandmarc & Moment.
I bought an AikeGlobal similar on Todi lens and it was plagued with lens softening and the bread clip solves the problem. Just try to buy bread clips and before locking your lens on the screw make sure the bread clip acts like a washer on your lens and tighten it and the lens softening at the edges becomes minimal because you are increasing the gap between the lens and your camera.
Thank you so much for this! Loved this. It really went in-depth and provided the information I needed to get a grasp for what I may want in the future! The visuals provided and the commentary *chef’s kiss* were extraordinary. A video I’d like to see would be your creative process! Your video and photo editing style/process! Your videos are so clean and sharp; they’re addictive because they have everything someone is looking for! Can’t wait to see more content in the future!
You are awesome! Would love to see you doing a thorough comparison of other third party lenses like Beastgrip with their accessories etc. I would love seeing them in the future. More powers to your channel! You are doing an amazing work. 👍👍❤️❤️
I just got into filming and stuff and would appreciate a video about how iPhone video stacks up against DSLR and how to improve iPhone footage since I'm making a mini-doc with just my phone for school.
Taylor Moore I can’t wait! It’s really nice to see someone who responds to their community and I really appreciate that you can cater to people who don’t have that much experience. Thank you!!!
Great vid! Used your input to finally pull the trigger on a lens! I love all the mobile device vids for photo and video - tips as tricks, as well as best apps to edit.
Great video, I would like to see you do a video on the water, like a glass calm river or large pond, possibly a boat dock. The elements like reflections off the water, the angle of the shot and the hopefully mildly sunshine on glass calm water can make for some excellent shots. I have one that is a classic with great photographers shot across a river at a dock with a few boats and trees in the middle and the angle that this picture was taking from I show it to people upside down and they love it, then when I flip it over they’re amazed. Sorry so long
ok soo first of all - thak you for the great comparison! i really didn‘t know what i should get to start my own channel and this video helped me a lot and i think it would be really nice if you could show us how to get cinematic shots with just your phone and these lenses! because there are lots of amateur iphone videos and i think there are definately better shots to get
Wow nice ! It would be awesome if you could review the battery photo case as well , there aren't many in depth reviews out there and you would totally kill it ! Maybe include some impressions on the anamorphic lens too , it looks tasty
+Geri'sCorner that’s a great idea! Thanks so much for throwing that out there! The anamorphic is indeed an amazing lens! A video on it is coming, I promise!
@@TaylorMoore4K Thank you for considering my idea ! I also see the battery photo case for iphone 7 and 8 on sale right now , i was considering the purchase ... the only thing holding me back is the expensive shipping and taxes towards Europe, damn you importation fees !
Great comprehensive review for both parts 1 and 2! Thanks for this. I was never going to purchase Sandmarc anyway as I'm on a note 9, but I was looking more to compare lenses as I can't afford to buy all 4 lenses right now. Your videos definitely helped me decide to get the wide and 58mm. Looking forward to more content!
This video was sooo good and informative, super hyped to get me some moment lenses! But first it’ll be really cool to see what you think should be in a mobile photography starter kit!
Just found your channel man. Balanced comparisons. Thanks. Looking forward to to the growth, especially interested seeing how mobile phones stack up in street photography.
Yay, finally you were able to do this comparison! So happy I bought the 58mm moment lens after all. Could you maybe review the Moment mobile app as well? I have yet to decide whether I should purchase it or not or if Lightroom is enough for me. Awesome video again, keep it up!
Really appreciated the technical analysis of these lenses. Reminds me of the analysis I research when buying vintage and old MF lenses for my 35mm. After design quality comes application; it would be great to see some videos giving insights into lens/mount(1x/2x) combinations for different shooting subject/photography types to increase shooting options.
Both Moment vs Sandmarc videos are the best/most in depth comparisons I've seen! Video idea: will 62mm DSLR stackable macro filters work when added onto Moment's lenses via the filter mount?
Great video and explains exactly what I’ve been seeing past couple of days testing the 58mm moment lens on iPhone 7 &. 8 plus. The zoom lens with the 58mm attached is soft whereas on the wide iPhone lens much sharper. Thanks for the excellent comparison and explanation.
Great review I will continue to use moment lenses. Love my anamorphic lens and when I get the new iPhone 14 I’ll definitely get a telephoto lens for the camera
Thanks for putting this out there Taylor. Liked a lot of things about the Sandmarc and accessories but lack of consistent sharpness and aberration quality is definitely a deal breaker. Would be nice to win a freebie too. Great video!
Love your detailed comparison! Would like to see some more cinematic footage of you and a moment app review + how to shoot in manual mode. Keep up with the good work!
Thanks for this video. I would love to see you try out some gimbles. It would be helpful to see the lenses in action with the gimbles so that I can compare the full experience and outcome of shots.
Thank you so much for the non-biased comparison!! And on the video note, it would be great if you could do a tutorial on how you edit your videos. Dude your vids are bomb af 🔥

Admittedly, this comparison is what brought me here, and I haven't looked through your other videos yet, but I would like to see the effects of different filters on these lenses. I'm looking to get the new 58mm tele for my next lens.
I would like to see some editing of the pictures taken with the smartphone lenses. To compare some prints to prints from a DSLR camera. To me the only reason to buy these pricey smartphone lenses are if Im able to use my phone for special situations that Id normally use a DSLR for and print them out to at least a 13/19 print and still look great.
Great vid! I’d love to see a comparison on video for iPhone XS vs a DSLR such as a Canon 5D or a Sony 7 series...just to see if it’s worth building out both rigs for different purposes. Awesome job tho keep em comin!
Who raised you? They deserve a medal for a job well done.
Hahah! This is my favorite comment to date. 😂
