An absolutely excellent review! I purchased this lens today, prior to viewing your review, andI can say, with confidence, that I made the correct decision. Thank you so much for your clarity!
Thanks for the information ! I’m grateful your review is making me pause and think more carefully on whether to buy this or go for a telephoto lens for my rarely used DSLR….
This was the best review on this product. Thank you. I will be buying because I think it works for my needs. It’s small and super portable and quality seems more than decent
Thanks so much for a great straight forward review. I have been going back and forth about making a purchase. Your review mirrors my thought process. I enjoy my Nikon DSLR, just thought this would be a nice addition to my iPhone 14Pro. So I sit and wonder, do I sacrifice quality for convenience. But, of the reviews I have watched I appreciate what you have done the most.
Thanks so much. Yeah it’s a trade off for sure. I personally find myself bringing the proper camera along most days so it’s less useful for me but I could absolutely see it being useful for someone who shoots landscape or cityscape with their phone
Can u please demonstrate one example of zooming on a subject with 6x or 2x lens with iPhone actually using the lens and zooming on the subject . There is no video anywhere on the demo of the lens 😭😭
Hey there. So the lens is not a variable focal length zoom, meaning it’s a fixed focal length. You can zoom in the app, but you’ll be using the digital zoom in iPhone that is cropping the image. Does that make sense?
I would not really recommend it. I would instead invest in a camera. I think it'll be a pain to stabilized this lens on a tripod and focusing on sports will be a challenge as it is all manual focus. Instead I would set a budget and purchase a used mirrorless or dslr system with a telephoto.
I agree, there are some image quality issues that make this challenging to use. I think it’s more compelling as a video option though. Some of the warping might be from davinci image stabilization though you definitely need to stabilize because of camera shaking at this focal length even with a tripod. Mixed bag

Depends on your use case for sure, but if you want to shoot wildlife, definitely get the DSLR lens

Wonderful! So glad it was helpful. It’s a very cool idea
Thanks for your review, I was thinking on buying it, I will be using it while traveling without a camera, so I guess this will work!

Is this a good choice for high school football videos - of my son’s senior year

Video warping is absolutely horrible. No way you can use that for video. That deer video had horrible warping going when you moved the camera. No way.
