    I knitted this scarf for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a success. She explains it very clearly and this video should be way more popular.

    Thank you for uploading. I used a 3,5 mm needle and pure new wool. Because of that I started with 126 stitches. My rows are subdivided in: 44 rows in blue, 4 rows in grey, 8 rows in blue and 4 rows in grey. It seems to be closer to the original scarfs from the movies. Before I made the fringe I ended both sides with crocheting a row of single crochet stitches, then I added 6 rows crocheting normally.

      Sorry for my late answer, I didn't notice your question. I used 8 1/2 balls (50 g balls) in blue and 2 in grey. The scarf is more than 2 meters long, like those, which can be bought from the Warner Bros. Studio shop in London.

    I also had the Problem, that my first stitches were very tight. My mom told me to put pith needles together and then cast on the stitches. After that you just pull out the other needle, and there you go. Perfectly even, not too tight stitches to work into. :)

    After a long long time doing this scarf I just realized I was following the description instructions and the pattern is wrong 🤡
    There it says it's 6-8-8-45 and I was following lol
    It's gonna be a little different but I think it'll still look nice anyway

    In the first 55 rows how many rows should be hidden by the tassels and how many stitches apart are they placed?

    Just a comment- 6us needles are actually 4 mm, not 9 mm :)

    What weight is that yarn? I have those same colors and brand but mine is a fingering weight and I’m not going to spend 2 years knitting up a scarf with fingering weight lol is it dk?

    Great tutorial and beautiful scarf. I'm missing the inches of the blocks. The big blue one and the thin ones in grey. The measuring in rows in other types of wool and needles might not work the same.

    Do we need that circular needle or can we use the two sticks?

    • @chi5367
      @chi5367 3 года назад +1

      I really recommend the circular needle because you can make your shawl round like two stratify, with just the Stick needles you have a flat and depend on what wool you use a thin shawl.
      Important! When you buy a circle needle (So two knitting needles that are connected to each other) Be sure to pay attention to the length of the knitting needles because you can't knit a shaw like in the Video with knitting needles that measure 80cm, so First of all, decided how wide your project should be and then buy the right needle (There's many Sets on eBay for a cheap price)

    What is k2tog and is there any purling or is it just knit stitch for the whole thing?

    • @Goth.Noir.91
      @Goth.Noir.91 4 года назад +3

      Basing this off of reading crochet patterns, but it believe it's knit 2 together and then keep knitting in the round.
      If you're using circular needles and ending up with a "tube", then you won't have to purl any stitches. The purl stitches show on the back, or inside of the tube.
      Hope that helped!

    • @annip.3431
      @annip.3431 4 года назад +1

      I think several factors are involved: how fast you are knitting, how much time you can invest per day, the yardage of the yarn and so on. I don't remember any more how much time it took. But it was a lot, because it was gift for my daughter. I always had to knit when I didn't have to work and she was at school. Sorry that I can't give you an adequate response.
