    Politely declines an offer from Mordor. Listens to his prisoner's plea for help. Offers to share their valuable medicine with the prisoners in need, and asks if they want more. Tries to keep the mood light for the patient by making happy laughter. Allows pesky Mordor orcs some rest even when they are not his own folk. Protects weak Hobbits from getting eaten. Politely warns the Mordorians when they keep insisting on eating the hobbits several times. Gives meat to his men.
    Ugluk is such a gent.

    Can't help but appreciate how disciplined the Uruk Hai Army is. They don't abuse their prisoners, they even pull them out of harm's way. Heck even in the games they'd do things like setup checkpoints and managed logistics definitely one of the most proficient fantasy armies out there.

      @@rc59191 You see, when a mummy orc and a daddy orc love each other very much...
      But no seriously, the orcs, their origins, fate, potential redemption and reproduction are probably one of the things that Tolkien never settled on. Once he stated that there are orc women, and in the Silmarillion it is said that orcs reproduce after the manner of Children of Iluvatar (so elves and men)

    • @walmartian422
      @walmartian422 Год назад +17

      In warhammer the orcs are like a fungus their pores release spores and they literally just start growing in cold damp caves. I’d imagine given the uruk birthing scene in the fellowship a similar process is happening in the Peter Jackson LOTR universe but there is probably some sort of science/sorcery to the creation of these beings. Given the moria goblins vast numbers I’d assume they also reproduce like that.

    In the scene where he protects the hobbits Ugluk said Saruman wants them, “alive and unspoiled,” which are the exact words Saruman said when he instructed their capture. Except he said them to Lurtz, which means at some point during the trip lurtz must have pulled him aside and been like.
    “Hey bro, Saruman wants the little guys alive and unspoiled. Just thought I’d tell you in case anything happens.” And Ugluk must have been like,
    “Ok bro thanks for telling me.” And remembered those words exactly.

    After the fall of Sauron many of the remaining Uruk Hai become members of law enforcement while others found employment as personal trainers in the fitness industry. Contrary to popular belief, Uglúk was not killed in the rohirrim raid but lost both of his legs and was given wooden prosthetic replacements. Even with his handicap, his enduring spirit remained. He completed a highly publicized jogging marathon from Isengard to Rivendell and went on to publish a best selling autobiography, "Never Give Up: The Uglúk Story." He now resides in Gondor with his wife and three children.

    Ugluk was very professional every step of the way, and very loyal to his master Saruman. And more than anything, he clearly cared about the Uruk-hai under his command - he wanted to ensure that they rightfully took credit for capturing the hobbits (rather than the orc maggots), he gave them all a nice rest, and he got a fire going to keep them warm. He also provided them with a fine meal after his justified punishment of the orc who refused to follow the directive that Ugluk clearly and carefully articulated to him - not to harm the prisoners. Very sad that he died, I would have liked to have seen more character development and maybe some of his backstory.

The fact that you are unable to picture an orc ordering from a restaurant means that, in your own personal world, orcs are in some way "lesser" than us and doing ordinary civilized things would be somehow strange and noteworthy if done by an orc. I'll have you know orcish cuisine is actually excellent and although it may be a bit different to what you're usually used to, that does not make it any less valid. As for you, I suggest you take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself, "am I the person I want to be?".
