The enemy design in The Hobbit trilogy is really hit or miss. We have amazing things like Azog "The Symetrical Faced" and Sauron being depicted either as a dark presence darker than night or a blazing terror, but we also have Bolg with his ridiculous "armor implants" and those damn amputated trolls
In Hobbit they should easy won too, all Azog Army had plate armor, big armored trolls and just better strategy but in Peter Jackson logic fishermen won because YES pfff
The thing is though that Orcs, in the books, can't speak black speech at all. They use a bastardized form of it but it is different among every tribe, therefore they have to speak Westron amongst each other as well. This is perfectly displayed in the Two Towers when the Uruk-Hai are arguing with the Orcs from Mordor
I get the feeling Azog (and possably Blog) wasn't of the Second Age army or Sauron, but First Age army of Morgoth, or even Melkor. As in one of the Origninal Goblins/Orcs that were former elves.
I love how they retooled Azog and his son for the films. One thing I do wish is that Dain should have put Azogs head on a pike and filled his mouth with silver like in the lore.
Azog is by far the strongest orc in all of Middle-Earth. Though I think Peter Jackson shouldn't of had him killed by a mere dwarf. It would of been cool if he died in battling Beorn.
sooo... you know that "mere dwarfs" praticaly destroyed an entire army of dragons by themselves, right? Since you are saying that Azog is the most powerfull middle earth orc, i assume you know enough about the tolkien universe to say that.
Well, that exact thing did happen in the book, but it was Bolg that got killed by Beorn. If you ask me, I think Azog should have still been killed by Thorin as in the movie we got, but Legolas should not have stolen Beorn's kill. We have already seen enough of Legolas claiming the spotlight (especially the Mumakil scene in "The Return of the King"), so there was no need to build him up even more, in my opinion. In fact, I think it would make sense to have Bolg actually defeat Legolas, but then Beorn kills him before Legolas is finished off, saving his life. It would emphasis how powerful Bolg is as an orc, while the usual Legolas fans could still say that Legolas was much younger by that point and, therefore, not as "invincible" as he was in the later LotR movies.
Azog always looked like a pre-production stand-in. I thought they would add more realism before releasing the films. Compare to the Uruk-hai that Aragorn fights in Fellowship. That had no CGI, was WAY more scary.
The problem is The Hobbit trilogy was shot in 5K exposing the flaw of makeup especially for expression. Look at the evolution of rendering from Unexpected Journey to Battle of the Five Armies to see the improvement. Azog facial expression made a lot of difference that practical makeup would never fully reproduce. Contrast with Lutz having very little facial expression and limited movement.
@@Tippotipo Azog being cgi had no continuity with the orcs we were used to from the LOTR series, which made him look to me like he was painted on top of scenes. I really would have rather they kept the continuity instead of caring about facial expressions for a one-dimensional character like Azog.
What I like about Azog is how well he handles the Wargs. The other orcs can barely look at them without getting eaten.

I think few people noticed that Azog and the wargs were on Amon Sul, where then the Hobbits been with Aragorn.
I really like how Gwaihir and his brethren are always the MVPs in the Tolkien Mythology.
When you stan thorin but you also stan Azog so you cant choose a side and they endup both dying so now you have double the sadness
one pf my favorite villains, epic
Azog is probably the closest Orcs have gotten to looking like Elves since Morgoth corrupted them in Utumno.
Movies are still better than the Star Wars Prequels.
Azog army in season 8 game of thrones. 100000% victory
In Hobbit they should easy won too, all Azog Army had plate armor, big armored trolls and just better strategy but in Peter Jackson logic fishermen won because YES pfff
one thing they did well in hobbits than lord of the rings orcs speaking their own language oh and also fighting scene of elrond and saruman
@@JRut99 I'm starving, we ain't had nothing but maggoty bread for 3 stinking days!
Azog,Smaug and Sauron are great villain
I get the feeling Azog (and possably Blog) wasn't of the Second Age army or Sauron, but First Age army of Morgoth, or even Melkor. As in one of the Origninal Goblins/Orcs that were former elves.
I get the feeling to
When he went ,,nuzdar numish, thrak gol bi la kar nuak nash" I felt it.
1:33 did anyone notice how he strut off camera?
LOTR and Hobbit are the best movies, that sounds are the best :)
ilove azog ❤💙💚💛💜💓💕💖💗💘💝💞💟👍
I love how they retooled Azog and his son for the films. One thing I do wish is that Dain should have put Azogs head on a pike and filled his mouth with silver like in the lore.
I don't think it was silver. It was described as "coins of little value". Probably copper or something cheap.
I can tell Manu Bennett enjoyed his roll as Azog
Anyone else think the dark speech language is so cool
No
Yes
always interested about bolg's head ingury :)
Azog is by far the strongest orc in all of Middle-Earth. Though I think Peter Jackson shouldn't of had him killed by a mere dwarf. It would of been cool if he died in battling Beorn.
but that wouldnt ruin the whole arc
Tyson Lawson that 'mere dwarf' was the king of Erebor, the king of all dwarves: that's cool enough...
Tyson Lawson that 'mere dwarf' was the king of Erebor, the king of all dwarves: that's cool enough...
sooo... you know that "mere dwarfs" praticaly destroyed an entire army of dragons by themselves, right?
Nah. He looked good. Stop the mindless hate
@@zh7334 It's RECKLESS hate. What can men do against such RECKLESS hate.
@@bridgecross that was a good reference. Well done.
I like the way Bolg enters whn he's called by Azog. He's confident, mean nd dnt giv a sh.t
Azog looks exactly like a orc version of batista
My thought when I saw Beast Rabban in 2021 Dune.. That he looks like a sci-fi Uruk-Hai or Azog
I know I'm in the minority, but I thought Azog looked fantastic.
The CGI is a little dated but the actual design is amazing.
Agreed, I like Azog’s design and character
@@shadowofhawk55 the CGI is perfect
Both in the LOTR and the hobbit..orcs are my favorite characters
The Dwarves have a lot of HATERS in Middle Earth.
And I'm not one of them
There's nothing more badas than Tolkien's lore ! Those movies, The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, are just unbelievable !
Świetna rola Jacka Murańskiego.
The cool thing about him is that he matches with his dog wolf tiger lion thingy mbob they both are white
Yeah, a Pale Warg for a Pale Orc.
Azog has to be the sexiest Orc in Middle-earth.
Best orc foe ever. one of the best evil character in fantasy movies.
Why are bald men always the most badass ?
if you pause at 1:01 Bolg is pretty much bigger than Azog but when they stand next to each other Azog is looking down on him kek
Of course. Azog was slouching.
Azog favorimsin😍👌
Azog, the Champion of Capua
Azog is like the General Grievous of the orcs
Azog is my favorite
Slade Wilson
Why deathstroke?
Manu Bennett
Subject of a failed military experiment.
I didn't even know it was him till I looked at the cast, I now love azog.
Azog got hands on with the new total war during the five armies
I like the theory that Azog descends from Boldog.
That’s a pretty sick set of traps right there. He couldn’t carry his laptop, would just keep slipping off his 45 degree shoulder
Azog was way too handsome for an orc
Tbh ur right
Kili, Fili an Thorin way too handsome for dwarves too tho lmao

*B O L G ! ! !*
Azog is such the brutal defiler.
Crixus victor again
Jackson broke the rule about orcs not being able to be in sunlight in this series
0:17 seems like he's saying normal words but backwards and Google Translate read it out
Azog literally has the arrogance to talk to Sauron like that.
