      That's because of of his actor Manu Bennett. As written he was kind of a generic baddie, but Bennett kept pressing the directors for how he could portray the character with an emotional side. What resulted was the affection for the wargs

      @@jangoescoricky9393 yep, they’re quite clearly not on the same level as the Lotr movies. That’s obvious. But I just fail to grasp where the hatred of the hobbit movies comes from

    • @jangoescoricky9393
      @jangoescoricky9393 2 года назад +3

      @@CLSilverhand It depends on how you look at both. The Hobbit is better in certain ways, LOTR in its own ways. But each series does things a bit different... LOTR is very dark and miserable where the stakes initially are higher. The Hobbit is more upbeat overall. I like LOTR a lot but its more of a slog to watch the whole LOTR Trilogy and gets a bit sad. The Hobbit is better at being a light hearted adventure with some danger and its easier to watch honestly. The Hobbit is like a rollercoaster, LOTR feels more like a horror thriller at times which is still awesome. I think the whole brotherhood and friendship themes is handled better at times in the Hobbit trilogy.
      The Hobbits are all amusing and the side characters are more interesting at times. Both have bitter sweet moments towards the end, LOTR almost feels a biblical epic you need to be in the mood to watch that feels almost like a religious text with its level of detail. While the Hobbit is like a classic, fantasy adventure epic version of that. I'm happy we go both of these classic trilogies before the entertainment industry turned on the general public viewers with the films being made today. We got the great stuff before things turned to malarkey.

      As the chieftain of the Moria orcs who led the legions to Mount Gundabad, he most likely established the alliance between the orcs and Gundabad Wargs, which will have meant direct communication with the Warg Matriarch herself. I guess he probably looks upon them less as mounts and more as genuine allies given that he does express more care and tact in handling the wargs than the others.

    Azog is one gorgeous and badass mofo.
    Well done, wonderfull, 101% unique design that REALLY makes him stand out, he's a snowflake among coals. The fact he's beautiful doesn't make him less scary. The thought of a white, leucistic orc is, itself, really unique and deserves a clap.
    Definitely in my top favs from Hobbit. He doesn't deserve all the hate he gets from those people who still live LOTR and think he's shit. How's he shit? At least he got guts to actually speak to Sauron the way he does, while what the 'badass' Uruk Hai do? Follow Saruman's orders like blind puppies, never questioning, like live toys - because they ARE toys without their own will and thoughts. Who's worse here?
    Yes, Uruks might be more 'classic' and typically 'scary', but sorry, I'd be more afraid of Azog, than of any Uruk. At least they're human-sized and shaped. Azog is a freaking 8'5 foot tall, over 400 pounds heavy beast with canines like a tiger who doesn't really resemble a human anymore, not from any angle.
    I'd really like to make those people face Azog and I wonder if they'd tell him he's shit or piss and crap their pants XD
    The answer is rather obvious!

      *+Jedesis* And they have the right to because this is called personal taste and opinions.
      BUT. What is not right here, is hating on Azog like a foolish, rabid 8 years old, saying he's nothing good and all shit, and worse, hating on people who like him. Which is sadly very common around here. People just for some reasons can't stand the fact someone DARES to like Hobbit more better than LOTR or Azog more than Lurtz. This is just sad. I like the LOTR movies quite a lot, but... I like Hobbit more, honestly, I don't care for Lurtz at all, because to me he's nothing special. Personal opinion. One of many, I even had a hard time telling him apart from other Uruks at first.
      CGI or not, they should at least have the guts to admit he has a very original design. While look at the LOTR orcs - most look the same. Yes, they're actors, they have wonderful makeup, but most of Uruks for example look the same. Cannot say the same about Azog, you can tell him apart from others as easily as you'd spot a diamond among coals. This alone is a great thing.

      Sapphiresenthiss Bluescales I like both the LOTR Orcs and the Hobbit Orcs, the ideal Orc Army to me would be one made up of LOTR Orcs and Hobbit Orcs with Azog as supreme commander and Lurtz as high ranking subordinate of Azog's.

      +Tim Carney I do like both kinds of orcs, too. Just that I like the Hobbit ones (not as much as all of them, but Azog and Bolg) better, but Uruks are amazing as well!

      its not that we shit on azog, we shit on orcs in general, bolg and azog are extremely rare cases in terms of orcs, most orcs are small, weak and cowardly, while uruk hai are not, and you can't really say how obedient or disobedient the uruk-hai are considering most of the real uruk-hai we saw, were only a few weeks old. and i like azog, but if him and lurtz fought, i would put my money on lurtz

Overall if you asked me to rank the villains of the the entire saga from the least evil to the most evil, you’d better believe that Azog is one of the characters who would end up among the top 5 most vile.

    • @markcobuzzi826
      @markcobuzzi826 7 лет назад +23

      Well, that exact thing did happen in the book, but it was Bolg that got killed by Beorn. If you ask me, I think Azog should have still been killed by Thorin as in the movie we got, but Legolas should not have stolen Beorn's kill. We have already seen enough of Legolas claiming the spotlight (especially the Mumakil scene in "The Return of the King"), so there was no need to build him up even more, in my opinion.
      In fact, I think it would make sense to have Bolg actually defeat Legolas, but then Beorn kills him before Legolas is finished off, saving his life. It would emphasis how powerful Bolg is as an orc, while the usual Legolas fans could still say that Legolas was much younger by that point and, therefore, not as "invincible" as he was in the later LotR movies.

  • @bridgecross

      The problem is The Hobbit trilogy was shot in 5K exposing the flaw of makeup especially for expression. Look at the evolution of rendering from Unexpected Journey to Battle of the Five Armies to see the improvement. Azog facial expression made a lot of difference that practical makeup would never fully reproduce. Contrast with Lutz having very little facial expression and limited movement.

    • @mrgrey361
