I begrudgingly agree with you. I lusted over this knife for a year. Finally got in on a run, went all out with the 3D milled carbon fiber, but ended up underwhelmed. The thinness and mushiness in a knife this large feels off. I love this blade stock in a sub 3 inch Spyderco Chaparral, not so much in a full size knife. My biggest disappointment was the soft, unsatisfying detent. It can be easily wrist opened which I hate. And there isn't enough strength for a satisfying pop open. Still, the knife is really nice and cuts like a demon. I'm keeping it. It's just not the heir apparent that it was made out to be and has room for improvement.

When using my Atom, I enjoy making swishing noises, because it's so slicey...slicy..it slices well. The PM2 does have an advantage in the audio department though, in that it makes more of a Wolverine "Snikt Snikt" noise when deployed. That makes me feel more like a man while cutting cherry tomatoes.

I’ve gotten to a point that if the knife doesn’t have a flipper I want a hole in the lads instead of thumb studs like spyderco knives or some sort of fuller instead of studs. I know this knife kills card board. The knife that I have for slicing cardboard like butter is my s35vn zt0095bw. It’s so enjoyable on how it glides right through.

Thank you for speaking truth to hype about the TRM atom. I own one and noticed the same things when trying to use it during yard work to remove ivy. It’s a great EDC knife, but not necessary a good work knife.
It should be noted that despite how hard the knives are to buy, the company really wants customers to try them. my experience with their customer service was excellent and friendly.
Between my TRM atom, and PM2 in maxamet I prefer my endura in K390 for everyday carry.
The PM2 is more sturdy than the atom, and is easier to deploy and fun to fidget with, however it is pretty large in the pocket and has shorter cutting blade I found myself having to do two passes when cutting cucumbers for lunch. The maxamet is nice, but for EDC tasks I can’t say I sharpen it any less than K390 or 20cv. It does however destroy cardboard better than either.
The Atom is lightweight, small in the pocket, and has a thin long cutting edge it is also more comfortable than the PM2 in the hand. As you have pointed out however it isn’t suitable for heavy work, kicking it out of my pocket when I need to do anything in the back yard.
I like the endura the best because aside from not having the fidget factor of either It has good characteristics from both. It’s blade is long and thin enough to do most cutting tasks well, the construction is solid enough to handle any knife jobs in my back yard. The knife also has a thin closed profile and chamfered edges on the scales that make it comfortable in the hand and pocket. The steel upgrade means that it cuts for a long time, but also rusts if you don’t take care of it, oiling it helps but means that I can’t use it for tasks that are sensitive to oil contamination.
On an unrelated note, it is also the cheapest of the three at $130 vs $260 for the pm2 in maxamet (base s30v is around $160) and $200 for the atom. So I honestly don’t worry when I abuse it, not being a sprint run helps too.

On the knife, thanks for not gushing when everybody else does. I have one. No question it's a good knife. For me the difference between this and others is the Ti liners. Having liners that don't rust is very nice. Otherwise, it's another very good liner lock with a good steel. In the same price range with different (maybe better) features: Mini Crooked River, Spydie Chef, Canis. For less, Endura, Stretch in ZDP, and many others.

I have far more knives than I'll ever need and this is certainly one of my favourite folders (together with G&G Hawk Auto and Benchmade Crooked River, although the S30V on that one did not impress me very much - chips all to easily when ground thin). The ZT 0470 is durable enough for most tasks, lightweight, well made, has an excellent ergonomy in my larger hands. I reground it to a thin-behing-the-edge convex though. Slices very well. Thanks for you opinion, Advanced Bro!

Oh, and another favourite that I guess not many have is my "all black", "Extrema Ratio - Resolza L". It is from Italy, and it's a piece of art. Comes in 3 sizes, S, M & L. I went for the L all black. But now I want the smaller sized, S in Stonewashed finish. Perfect for small trips, cutting meat, sausages, vegetables, fruits and so on. It's made after an old traditional Italian knife, Rasolza, that can cost VERY much. But you get really a beautiful knife for the money. And it has liner lock, not traditional. Check it out. In hand, it's even looking and feeling more nicer than you ever could believe. For me, a top 5 knife.💖🔥💎👍🌞

FWIW, TRM scales seems to be about half the price of other second market scales. Micarta for $45 v. $80-90. So let’s say you buy a $150-190 para2 depending on what blade steel you want (Bento box is $190 for m390, occasionally there’s $150 for a 20cv) + $80-90 for micarta scales, you’re looking at $230-$280. If you buy the $210 atom with micarta to start, you’re already at a lower price point +$35 if you really need those g10 scales.
My point is ultimately that unless you’re just sticking with g10 and you find that $145 20cv PM2, the pricing is pretty on point. Add that to the fact that titanium is generally more a premium price point if you were to go buy standoffs, clips, etc.
No arguments about liner locks being a bit meh.

Yes. That knife doesn’t do much for me. But I have seen people talk about them.

Did just get my Ranch Boss 2 last week, and themed my whole IG week with it, even killed Wednesday with it. But the Broken Skull is next on my list....🤔

I’ll take Guinness and you can have your IPAs, I can’t handle them. Then again I can’t stand tomato’s so I’m sure we’d get along just fine. Thanks for another great video, I was beginning to have withdrawals.

I like all kinds of beer. I just know IPAs trigger people, much more than stouts, belgians, porters, etc. If more people had tried Barley Wines they'd be triggered too.

@@AdvancedKnifeBro over consumption of barley wines will really trigger some shit... er, I mean I like them too.

I’d like a Crossman spinning target video. Could be cool. BB guns and air rifles need love too.
