I love my Taz 6, but this is almost TWICE the price for the same build volume.

The press release on their website says they coming out with a Taz 7 on May 1, which will be lower priced than the Taz Pro.

All these comments kinda go like this, "I would love a Ferrari, yet I can only afford a Honda".

If this is a Ferrari, then damn my Voron 2.4 must be an intercontinental rocket

Whats the point of a multi-material printer if there's no enclosure? Almost every engineering quality material requires one.

This. Cant even print ABS at the full build volume probably

Still using those sloppy plastic bearings, so surfaces will be uneven. I would have liked to have seen closed loop DC motors with linear encoders as used in even the cheapest inkjet printer. For this price, it should have included an enclosure, and a way to keep the spools of plastic from sucking moisture out of the air while it is printing.

For 5K, this must be one heck of a printer. But really, double the price?
For that kind of serious money I'll be looking at the Ultimaker S5!

$5k for an open frame FDM printer! Are you crazy? I can get perfectly good results from my $400 Creality printer. Markforged is going to eat you for lunch in the prosumer space. I can’t figure out why people are in love with TAZ printers. Way over priced for essentially a beefy reprap. Get a Prusa i3 Mk3 if you want an open frame, open source reprap. It’s only $700.

Which would you get: (1) Taz Pro for $5K or (2) Ultimaker S5 for $6K?

Taz pro of course. They give you the design files for all of their printers, not just the old ones. They also make great parts and are reliable. I've been buying lulzbots for more than 5 years.

looks like a TAZ 6 dual extruder with a fancy screen. I'll stick with my modified Taz 6 and keep the 5K way over price

Seems really odd to have a printer that expensive that doesn't have an enclosure.

It needs a conveyor belt printing bed. Why does technology have to evolve so slowly? Lol

Gregory Campbell ikr why don’t companies adopt new techniques right after they are made instead of waiting and doing their own research and testing?
