nothing wrong with printed parts, that means you can replace them yourself, Taz has always had a lot of printed parts, but for a premium feature set and brand name, plus the lifting hotends, I'd say 2999 is within reason, though I'd like it to be bigger still -- maybe in the 400 mm cubed, but $5k -- they're dreaming
Some details about the Pro that I am anxious to learn about: ⁃ Comparative print quality and performance (is Z belt that much better?) ⁃ Modular swappable Tools (a feature I really like on the Taz 6) ⁃ Additional functionality such as remote (octopi?) and cam A few personal IMHO comments are: ⁃ slightly larger Z build height is welcome ⁃ nice they are using a thumb drive instead of flash, would be better located on the front ⁃ glad to see the Pro is the same physical size. ⁃ I prefer the octopi logo on the 6 over the generic (boring) geometric pattern of the pro ⁃ 5K does seem like a lot for a personal printer, but maybe suggests an align with the trend towards industrial customers.
If they're releasing modular extruders for the Taz Pro, I doubt each extruder would sell for under $1000 though. Lulzbot tried to sell a modified Aerostruder Nozzle(usually $250) for $745(Now $595), and it doesn't even come with adapters to use with their older printers.
If nearly a cubic foot of build volume is too small for you then I don't think you're in the market for anything produced Lulzbot, Ultimaker, etc etc. You'll likely find better solutions from companies like Stratasys and HP.
You can call me a prude, but I'm not paying 5k for something with 3D printed parts. (Not to say they aren't up to par) It's just that the reason we 3D print our parts is because it's cheaper, more economical and just plain easy. So how does 3D printed parts make this printer worth more than professional looking injection molded parts? The 3D printed parts should be helping to reduce the cost of this printer... not raise it.
@@jonathank1723 sure; but do you also have this printer to compare to? Personally, I'd rather have 5 great printers, printing in 4 colors, than one really great printer printing in 2
This is the honest experience I'm facing .That I have purchased Lulbot Taz pro, it's not working and they don't answer a call or reply, no response from Lulbot.
Although they are not giving support for their costumers when you call this number they ask you: where did you get it because is a private internal number of the company. Pretty disappointed at them!!
God I have wanted any lulzbot for a long time but the price just kills me. My CR-10 will have to do for now. Also im not a huge fan of it being 3mm filament but for the large head on the taz 6 (I can't think of the name but the one with the giant nozzle) it makes sense. 1:34 whats up with that Bowden tube?
Holy shit, only upgrade the dual extruder and sell for $5000? I upgraded my printer to a lift dual extruder on my own with 300X300X300mm printing area. I would be happy if anyone would buy it for $1000. Nothing about tech breakdown at all.
neither of those two over-priced and mechanical inferior machines! I would go for a solid all-aluminum frame with linear-rails and a core XY system for about 1500$ self-sourceed and built and with a slightly larger build volume and many times better print quality!
Ok so I get it its great. I think its reliable. The tool changing method is awesome and though I am not a fan of lulzbot I think this looks ok, but for 5 grand. Hell no. At LEAST make it an enclosed corexy 3D printer if your charging 5 grand my gosh. Corexy makes the world of a difference!!!. The only think keeping the Lulzbot company alive is there customer service.
To be honest - the material used to build the ptinter is not worth it`s 5000 Dollar price tag! For that i would expect exclusively CNC machned parts, no 3d printed parts on the printer - also some linear rails with circulating ball bearings, rather the those old-fashoined linear rods... I feel it is too expensive, for what it does and for what it consists of!
Are you freaking kidding me? This is a joke. No enclosure? Won't print most materials and isn't compliant with most regulations for workplaces. This is a pathetic use of the word "pro" trying to prey on the engineering markets.
For the absurd price they are asking for this printer I would hope it does live up to all the hype you spewed here! Considering the alternatives out there that blow this thing out of the water and for which in many cases you could build a print farm, or buy one and have enough left over to buy enough filament to print every day for 3 years! You might be able to sell this overpriced load of crap to the unsuspecting consumer, but you will be hard pressed to sell it to anyone with even minimal knowledge of whats available in this market. What a JOKE!
Nice printer but not near worth 5 grand. If all you want to do is cater to rich people good luck because rich people will buy even better. You priced the average user right out of the market. Idiots.
Overpriced piece of crap and its open air for that price it should be fully enclosed WTF is wrong with lulzbot putting out the same piece of crap for years
a 5000$ FDM printer, with 3D printed parts, superb.

5k is fair... a makerbot method is 6500.... and i guarantee the method doesn't hold a candle to the taz pro.
I love my Raise3D Pro2 ! Full enclosure, hepa filter, injection molded parts ... :) Annnd ... Cheaper !
3d printed parts are Not Bad yes but for me its Not Industrial...Not for 5k..sorry
kazolar the 3d printed parts ad to their open source ideas
Did anyone else notice the PTFE tube coming out of its housing at 1:38?
I did. Opps.
IT'S INDUSTRIAL GRADE
Haha
This machine uses Direct drive, that tube is just for filament guidance. Therefore there is no need to attache the tube to the print head.
5k for that? half the parts are printed and they didnt even include a $30 spool of filament smh

⁃ Additional functionality such as remote (octopi?) and cam
A few personal IMHO comments are:
⁃ slightly larger Z build height is welcome
⁃ nice they are using a thumb drive instead of flash, would be better located on the front
⁃ glad to see the Pro is the same physical size.
⁃ I prefer the octopi logo on the 6 over the generic (boring) geometric pattern of the pro

Too small for the prints I do (and no enclosure!)...but I would certainly like to know more about that lifting setup for two Titan Aeros!

Plenty of cheaper solutions with the CR-10's variants to kit builds like the ZYLTech hyper cube of FolgerTech FT-5/FT-6

After watching video I thought "hey neat, I'd pay about 1400 for that." 5k? You guys are outa your minds.
Or you could just buy 5 Prusa i3 MK3S with the multimaterial upgrade...
Yep, my thoughts exactly
Yes, but, the MMU is not as nearly as reliable as this setup, I would know because I have the V1 and V2
@@jonathank1723 sure; but do you also have this printer to compare to? Personally, I'd rather have 5 great printers, printing in 4 colors, than one really great printer printing in 2
Or you could buy 21 Ender 3's and a Mosaic Pallete 2 Pro - which destroys any MMU's out at the moment.
Nick Heyer touché ha ha ha

Give us a call at 949-613-5838 - we can help!
Lulzbot was purchased by another company now based in Fargo, ND call 701-356-4188 for service.
Although they are not giving support for their costumers when you call this number they ask you: where did you get it because is a private internal number of the company.
Pretty disappointed at them!!
Looks good but it ain't worth 5 grand.
I just pay $3,800 you just makkng me feel better lol
God I have wanted any lulzbot for a long time but the price just kills me. My CR-10 will have to do for now. Also im not a huge fan of it being 3mm filament but for the large head on the taz 6 (I can't think of the name but the one with the giant nozzle) it makes sense.
1:34 whats up with that Bowden tube?
it's a guide tube for the filament, no reason for it to be attached to the tool head. so no problem
Can use pla as well
Holy shit, only upgrade the dual extruder and sell for $5000? I upgraded my printer to a lift dual extruder on my own with 300X300X300mm printing area. I would be happy if anyone would buy it for $1000. Nothing about tech breakdown at all.
Which would you get: (1) Taz Pro for $5K or (2) Ultimaker S5 for $6K?
The S5
But I would spend the 5-6k to a Formlabs Form 2
neither of those two over-priced and mechanical inferior machines!

You realize that lulzbot has become the laughing stock of Facebooks largest 3d printing forum, right?
why
I am buying this bad boy
...then you're a dumbass.
I want one! ;)
4.950$
LoL

For 5,000 I can buy a nice resin printer and make better prints
I am expecting cnc parts, vacuum bed, proper enclosure bigger touch screen. this is a joke. to build would cost maximum 600$
Bowden tube lol .... 5000K for this printer ? LOL 2
