I remember being three different routes each with a different difficulty level; in the easiest you mostly encounter those regular green tanks and AA (the ones with machine guns) and in the hard route there are lots of those yellow tanks everywhere.
I used to wait impatiently to get out of school so I could rush home and play Iron Tank. I obsessed over learning how to beat this game, and yet I can't remember if I ever actually did.
Man I still really miss this channel, I understand why Mark left and I'm also really glad I bought the CGR blu-ray! ...just sad the quest to review everything isn't happening...
Iron Tank is the only game I ever called a hint/help line for. The manual said something about a 2 player game which isn't actually in the game and SNK's phone number was toll free.
@@tannerrennat7786 May not have been a lie. The instruction manual was probably written before the completion of the game. During the game's development, 2 players may have been an option, but was dropped before the final version.
Thanks Mark!! My favorite reviewer by far ! Please keep doing what you're doing sir... take it from me... I've been gaming since space invaders came out... ouch!
Looks a lot like a "TNK-III" clone which is fine because that's a great classic game. I'm definitely loading this one onto the Super Retro-cade today! Thanks for the review and keep those classic games coming, Semper Fi.
Is this a NES port of the arcade game TNK III? I used to play that all the time in the arcades and the main music and levels and power-ups almost exactly the same, but I don't remember the dialogue and the annoying radio lol. But yeah the arcade had the 2 fire buttons and the joystick had the turn knob to aim your turret, was not sure how they would translate that to the NES.
This game was tough! I somehow got to the last level when I was a kid, but sadly couldn't beat the final boss. Probably will have to fire this one up again!
The final boss, which was - if I recall right - a boss rush against the major boss Think Tanks from the "boss rooms"? Also, yeah, this game as mostly an exercise in patience. The multiple paths you could take also gave it some replayability - if you wanted to.
One of the few NES games I bought recently with how god awful prices are nowadays. Leave it to Mark to give me a straightforward opinion on this bargain bin curiosity.. I never know what to make of games I've never really heard of...
It is actually a pretty good game, and not too challenging (until the very end.) Do yourself a favor, record your password frequently, there is a bug in the game where sometimes you defeat a big boss they blow up and go away but the game does not go to the next level and you are trapped there forever.
Iron Tank is indeed impossible.Whoever finished it without a game genie is a badass.Sadly, not me.I did play it a lot but never managed to finish.Another unfinished NES game to add to the pile...
I see, thanks so much. I like retro game and I am also games collector. I usually compose game music.^^'' the game look seems to be nice. Unfortunately it is pretty difficult.>''
This was the first NES title I've ever played. I can still remember that music over 20 years later.
More like 35 years

One of my favorite games from my childhood! Thanks for the nostalgia.
Love the visuals in this.
This was one of my favorite games when I was little. Consequently I am now a badass at video games.
God I miss the old Classic Game Room. Funny that I live in Palm Coast. Great review.

Lol it does sound like an 80's alarm clock radio
I beat this game over 30yrs ago I loved that game I remember leaving my Nintendo on for 20 days straight to beat it
Iron Tank is the only game I ever called a hint/help line for. The manual said something about a 2 player game which isn't actually in the game and SNK's phone number was toll free.
Bob Smith, that lie about 2 player still ticks me off

I’ve beaten this game so may Times as a kid
I rented this game once when I was a kid.
I couldn't even pass the first level when I covered this game. Railroad tracks in level 1 did me in.
OnlyLevelOne dude, love your channel!
Mad Ape Productions Thank you!
My grandpa used to tell me stories about how one dude in a tank killed all the Nazis. Truly they were the greatest generation.
This was and still is my favorite Nes 🎮 I still remember renting it from Mr. Video! I've beaten it so many times.
Great review!
Glad to know someone besides me thought this game was difficult.
I'm waiting to see Mark review P.O.W. and Bayou Billy. Great games.
P.O.W. is great. Bayou Billy is garbage.
Thanks Mark!!
My favorite reviewer by far !
Please keep doing what you're doing sir... take it from me... I've been gaming since space invaders came out... ouch!
i still play this shit...
"It's like Jackal with tanks; 10/10 from IGN."
Like in Metal Gear Awesome: STOP FUCKING CALLING! 😂😂😂
This has to be the only World War 2 game ever released for the Nes!
Looks a lot like a "TNK-III" clone which is fine because that's a great classic game. I'm definitely loading this one onto the Super Retro-cade today! Thanks for the review and keep those classic games coming, Semper Fi.
Same company.
I played the fudge out of the arcade version as a kid! Goodtimes!

Yes, I believe it is
for some reason....i really like shooters that involve tanks...
same! top down tanks rule
Finally a proper review of this game, every other reviewer says this game is boring because they never play past the first level.
I haven’t heard anyone say anything bad about it.
Is this a sequel or prequel to Guerilla War? That tank looks exactly like the rideable tank in that game.
CGR...huge fan...was just thinking about this game randomly a few days ago.
lol I like running over the men to heal my tank!
good ol SNK. great show. we'll never lose the faith. Thank you.

I wish there were more games like this nowadays, minus the limited range and annoying radio.
love the music
i love this game i beat it so many times. i have been on every road on the map. and bayou billy was a great game
This reminds me of Commando with a tank.
I had this game when I was a kid. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember really liking it, but I don't think I got far in the game, lol.
To be fair, a tank in iron would be a bad idea. :)
how come he dont review neo geo aes games?
The final boss at the end of the game is easy if you have all weapons at full.
5:45 to 6:06 How are you suppose to clear that without the game genie? LOL!
I beat this game a few times !!
Great game, great review.
man i played this without a game genie like a sucker XD. this is a fun shooter.

Use those 💣
Not to make anybody feel bad but I beat it when I was like 6 or 7 lmao

Too bad you didn't get to Hitler's fortress of doom. Or show the V-2 bombardments.
prepare for big ass tanks
This game looks awesome and unfair.
it's like a hardcore jackal sequel
this game was an SOB! it was still fun though
Awesome 👻
Iront tank isn't that hard, I finished it without cheating and I loved it so much
Jorge Barquero yes thank you! I had this game and could beat it as well. Mind you I had plenty of games I couldn't beat.
TANKS! TANKS! TANKS! EDF!
Iron Tank is indeed impossible.Whoever finished it without a game genie is a badass.Sadly, not me.I did play it a lot but never managed to finish.Another unfinished NES game to add to the pile...
