    Good morning Khristian,
I started watching this yesterday and I finished it this morning. Really interesting stuff.
You know I have really been eating this series up. Each video gives me a chance to just kick back and take note of the various musical genres as well as the history behind them. I really do appreciate you taking the time to share your wealth of info. Nicely done K~

      Hey there Rob,
Thanks so much for the comments as always. Yes I'm trying to get a few of these out but also not too much as i don't want to annoy anyone with heaps of posts. I would do more but of course, i can only talk about the music i know and love:-)
Thanks for the kind words mate.
Hope all is going well for you and your loved ones.
      Take care

Siren05 Thanks for the nice response Khristian. Could you please do me a favor? Could you relay my best wishes to Fred? You do not have to get back to me. Please let him know that I was thinking of him. I really miss seeing him and I just hope that everything is going well in his life.
      Thank you K. Have a nice Sunday~

Hi Khristian, I picked up a great Caravan compilation on Record Store Day. There was a good copy of In The Land Of Grey and Pink there but it was more than I could afford. I can tell I am going to really get into Caravan. Thanks for the tip. Cheers

I'm familiar with the Os Mutantes debut album but have only heard the album a few times. My impression has always been that it has some great moments but many more that really didn't grab me. You have some albums that I will seek out, particularly Tom Ze and Gal Costa. This is a video that I will revisit. Thumbs up.

Hey Rich. Thanks for chiming in here mate.
Yeah, the style is certainly not for everyone and i can see that some of these bands, by their very nature, are going to be off putting or a little too 'playful' for some listeners. The others are in a similar vein, just a little more loungy and chilled out. Less electric fuzz guitars and more with the classical/acoustic strings and melodic tunes, where as Mutantes are a little more experimental. Hope you find something in there you like.
      Cheers mate.

The Ou Panis is the only Tropicalia album I've heard so far (have a few of the bossa era ones), I took the title as a criticism of the government - think a Roman emperor used the phrase first in a similar way to Marie Antionette's "let them eat cake". Great overview of the history and music!

Hey! Yes i think you're right. It was definitely a tongue in cheek phrase which was aimed at the division within the country at the time. The Tropicalistas, above all things, were having fun with the times they lived in and certainly not taking themselves (or anyone else) too seriously. Thanks for the comments mate.
      Take care

Hi Khristian, very interesting and informative update.Never knew Bossa Nova was commisioned as a musical form, always assumed it was a natural progression.Have a comp by Os Mutantes on cd,would love to come across more by them.

Hey man. Thanks for watching and for the comments. It made me realise i probably wasnt clear enough in some parts of the vid. Bossa Nova was definitely a style that grew naturally from the melding of Samba, Jazz and Classical influences. But it was used by the government to represent Brazils 'New Way' of life on the world stage.
The Os Mutantes are such a cool and funky band. Love em!!
      Cheers - K
