The Game Awards is a joke, it's a recency-biased popularity contest. The fact that GoW won best score & music and innovation in accessibility is ridiculous.
Some of the other XC3 tracks that absolutely crushed my emotional capabilities were "Future Awaits", "Where We Belong", "A Step Away", "Lost Days Of Warmth" and "Kaleidoscopic Core". The latter one is a remix of a song from XC2 called "Drifting Soul", which is one of the most popular songs out of everything Xenoblade has.
I would also like to add Immediate Threat, The Bereaved and Those Left Behind, Eagus Wilderness, Noah and N, Showdown with Z, and Black Mountain - Prison Island (Day). And that's really just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many good area themes and battle themes.
Yes! A part 2 is definitely a good idea. Normally, I'm okay with you listening to a couple of tracks so you get the general feel of the soundtrack. But Xenoblade 3 has so many different styles and composers that a second video is much appreciated. The Weight of Life stood out beautifully during the game awards orchestra.
A part 2 is very needed. While you did listen to the title screen, the main theme of the game is actually “A Life Sent On.” Other great tracks are “A Formidable enemy”, “Words that Never Reached You”, “Shining Aspiration; Inherited Melody”, “The Bereaved and Those Left Behind”, and “Homecominy”. There are also 2 vocal tracks in the game, “A Step Away” and “Where We Belong” which are very good as well. Edit: Forgot to even mention the dlc which has some of my favorites. “Cent-Omnia Region - Day”, “Redeem the Future (both phases)”, and “Future Awaits” are all phenomenal 😉
Your reaction to Moebius Battle says it all. Speechless, shocked, whatever it is, it left quite an impression. Xenoblade music was always amazing, but XC3 came and cranked it up to eleven!
One XC3 track that always, ALWAYS makes me tear up is "Lost Days of Warmth". It does that to start, but especially after all the scenes in the game where they play that song, it's like they train you to expect a tear-jerking moment whenever you hear that song.
This is one of the games that even if you listen to 25 songs of the soundtrack, there’s still like 60 absolute bangers you miss. All 142 songs in this game are honestly amazing, some in different ways. I listen to this soundtrack a lot in my free time.
@@ThatFoxGirlIn casual listening, there's a few purely ambiant tracks that don't have much merit when just listening to the music, but even those perfectly serve the atmosphere in game
There are two things I wanted to point out regarding Moebius' theme and The Weight of Life. It's a must to listen A Life Sent On in part 2. Also if you're a fan of xenoblade you'll notice elements of Counterattack from Xenoblade 2 and Engage the Enemy from Xenoblade 1 in Carrying the Weight of Life.
If I recall, Tactical Action is actually 2 tracks in-game. The first part of the OST'd file is one track, for a moment where the players are outside combat, and the other is the battle-side track, and both swap to each other every time they go in and out of combat, dynamically (as in, they can be matched together in Audacity, or Adobe Audition or the sort, and you can turn down and up, and they wouldn't dissonate at all).
There were a lot of battle tracks in this one, so if you do a part 2 it'd be good to listen to some field and cutscene music. A lot of people are saying A Life Sent On and I agree that song is THE most important piece of music on the soundtrack a must hear. I'd also recommend Eagus Wilderness, Erythia Sea, Agnus Colony, A Life is Born, and Ouroboros
What’s crazy is that there’s so many recommendations for different tracks in the comments of all of Xenoblade soundtrack react vids. There’s so many bangers and everyone has different favorites. It’s beautiful.
If you thought the regular Moebius theme was a banger there’s another version that’s even more of a banger, but it’s kind of a spoiler. Also it is criminal that Carrying the Weight of Life only plays 2 times in the whole game, and they’re both in the first half of the game. Also Brilliant Wings is a remix of the battle theme for Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected.
The second part of the Moebius theme actually went unused in the game, it’s called “Moebius Field Theme (Unused)” (also sadge that the other climax of the moebius theme isn’t in the one here)
A bit more context: tether two main characters of the game are “off-seers,” who use music to send off the spirits of those fallen in battle, using flutes to make the music. Replicas of the flutes the characters used were actually created, but I don’t know if they were used during the actual recording of the soundtrack.
This video really was a roller-coaster of emotions to say the least: Literal camera freeze followed by camera's slight malfunction into an audio cut in the headphones to finish with rebirth as a whole new woman. Xenoblade's music provokes this sort of crazy reaction. The music was just too powerful! I think when you're reacting to the music and you completely forget you're doing it to just vibe and listen to it, there can be no better proof that it's unbelievably good. Your reactions really translate how great the Xenoblade music is. Looking forward to part 2. A DLCs round would be awesome too!
The comparison to Fairy Tail was so on point for me, i was having the same feeling - tbf a lot of the tracks give vibes for different anime's (i heard some stylistic choices My Hero uses) it sort of tells you how story driven the game is that the music makes you think you're reacting to an anime
This has become my favorite game of all-time, last year (previously was XC1). This is the best Nintendo game ever made, IMO. You have to try it, one day! :)
I don't know if I love the reaction to Moebius Battle more or the fact it's like an end of chapter 1 boss fight the first time you hear it. Damn, what a running theme.
I'm sure somebody has already brought it up but the composer had irl versions of the flutes the main characters have made before he started making the music because he wanted a bespoke sound for the sound track. So when you hear the bamboo flute in the sound track it's being played on the same flutes as the characters are playing in game and in the art work.
I’d argue weight of life is top 10 video game ost of all time for me. First time I heard it I cried hard and the first time it plays in the game is a very very awesome cutscene that kinda hit me hard. This entire game just is special to me entirely. Masterpiece from start to finish
Another song that I haven’t seen mentioned here is “You will know our names finale” and it’s second phase “You will know our names finale ~ climax”. This games “fighting a 20 foot tall cow and it’s winning” theme.
Ah yes, my favourite OST. Every song is such a banger! I’m sure you have plenty of good suggestions from patrons already, but my personal favourite is A Life Overflowing for how heartbreaking it is.
Oooh, you should make a video of you listening to all the vocal songs from Xenoblade- they are all so amazing, "Where We Belong" in combination with the cutscene it played made me cry, and I never cry at pieces of media!
I've beated the game and it's DLC but never heared the Moebius Battle Full. I actually thought there were 2 Moebius themes but they were one song all this time. Genius! The OST from Future Redeemed is also fantastic, hope you check some tracks on camera or in your personal time. I love how passionate you are.
The bit that plays in between is sadly a unused version. Presumably there would be a place (maybe Origin?) where you would fight some Moebius uninterrupted and that would play dynamic music, like Tactical Action or Hostile Colony.
Seeing that you are looking forward for a possible part 2, I'll leave some suggestions here, but keep in mind this is my favorite OST ever so the list may be a bit long lmao *Battle themes* (most of these are dynamic and so they'll change depending on the state of battle) - *You Will Know Our Names Finale* : a staple of the series, bombastic overworld boss theme - *Formidable Enemy* : the intricate music patterns here are delightful, and the bass and drum carry hard - *Immediate Threat* : one of the hypest generic boss themes I've heard - *Redeem the Future* : The final boss theme of the entire saga, very fitting imo - *Agnus Battle* : the opposite to Keves Battle, if that one was fun, this one is intense - *New Battle!!!* : similar to Keves Battle, groovy and a blast to hear - *Words that never reached you* : this game's sad battle theme, it hits HARD with context :'( - *Ultimate Enemy* : GUITAR lol *Area themes* (I've seen people say this game has bad area themes. To them I say, take a listen to these) - *Millick Meadows* : majestic, beautiful, sweeping orchestra - *Eagus Wilderness* : gorgeous chill acoustic guitar - *The Great Sea Stirs* : boat theme, but if you were about to save the world - *Origin* : this one is just really cool and climactic imo - *Cent-Omnia Region* : your more standard bombastic Xenoblade area theme, but with a melancholic tone - *Black Mountains (Prison Island)* : electric guitars in Xenoblade am I right - *Fort O'Virbus* : super triumphant city theme, fitting for that point in the story I guess Well would you look at that, I left all cutscene tracks behind and managed to list 15 songs, and there are still many more I'd recommend 😭 No wonder this got nominated to soundtrack of the year tbh.
I always found it lovely how great Xenoblade can blend sci-fi worldbuilding with the touching feel of fantasy narratives. As a result the music is wholly unique in having both the greatest prog rock bangers and ballad sobbers.
YES ! You got the official soundtrack release versions, I am well pleased ! There's a part in Moebius Battle that is only in that version, it's cool that you got to hear it ! Happy to hear about a part 2, you listened to all battle and cutscene tracks this time, and it'd be nice to see 1 or 2 area themes next time, because they are well worth it ! Crossing my fingers for Noah and N though, one of my favorite if not my favorite battle track !
If your doing a part two then I suggest listening to, Life Sent on, A Step Away, Where We Belong, Future Awaits, Aionios’s Strongest, Redeem The Future both phases, Battle M maybe only for contrast, Words that never reached you, The Bereaved and those left behind is also good. Jokingly I would suggest You Will Know Our Names Finale but it isn’t too much different.
My favourite soundtrack of all time. I just got my complete soundtrack CD collection box from the mail. I just do my daily tasks and experiencing the game again through music
Glad to finally see Xenoblade 3 on the channel, also the first listening of Moebius Battle is a universal experience for everyone lol. If a part two ever happens it would be cool to see songs from Future Redeemed (the DLC to Xenoblade 3). I'd recommend New Battle, Cent-Omnia Region (Night), Prison Island (Day), Redeem the Future and Future Awaits
Overall you could absolutely get a three parter out of this game, the entire ost from start to finish is full of masterpieces. Can’t wait for the next one!
Now time for part 2 of each game lmao so many good songs. I genuinely feel like its impossible to show how good the soundtrack in such few songs because they are all so different.
"Oh. So I'm crying. ...NEVER MIND, NOT CRYING! Might cry..." This reminded me of another person's reaction to an official rearrangement of Flash Frost from Atelier Rorona.
Some context for the songs because they deserve it: I believe Off-Seer is the title theme of the game. Think it really fits the theme of death, which is what this game is all about; death. Tactical Action is the song that plays during *the tutorial* of the game. A remixed version of it plays during the final dungeon of the game, which is a nice detail, especially with how circles of life also play a huge thematic role in the game. Keves Battle (pronounced keh-ves) is the regular battle theme that plays during most regular battles in the game, at least in the first half of the game, and it's always a good time lol Brilliant wings is a remix of a theme from Xenoblade 1, and only plays when a character from that game is in your party. Its original version had a lot of flute in it, so it's kinda ironic they removed all of the flute and replaced it with sax instead. Moebius Battle is the regular boss theme. Yes, regular, not special. Most bosses in the game use the theme. Some use the first part, some the latter part, some both if they've got 2 phases. The calm part in the middle of the song actually goes unused, since it would play when you run around the field, out of combat mode but still being pursued by the enemy. This doesn't happen in the game, so it won't play. The ending of the song also doesn't play anywhere, as far as I know, as battle music always fades out instead of playing a piece to finish up. It's also the fan favourite song lol Carrying the Weight of Life is basically this game's version of Xenoblade 2's Counterattack. Sadly it only plays in like 2 cutscenes, but both of them are so insane that it makes up for it. Go play this game already, it's an easy 10/10 and you will cry at least twice
I remember the moment i got to the title screen and i immediately knew this game is going to hit hard like the other titles. It took me so long to start the game because i knew once i played the game that I'll never relive that first time playing.
Thanks for doing these, I love seeing a fellow musician discover these amazing tracks. Here's a list of my recommendations for part 2: Ouroboros Awakening, A Step Away, A Life Overflowing, Origin Battle, Noah and N, The Two Queens of Aionios, and Hope for the Future. Can't wait for the next one!!
I've been looking foward to this video for SO LONG, and knowing that you'll be doing a part two is just even better. I wonder if you'll react to the Xenoblade X soundtrack as well?
You'll be happy to know the two flutes aren't there just for the soundtrack cover art's sake, but play a big, big part in these characters' respective(and common) story arcs. If you really wanted something to cry about, there's a good source...
I would say for XC3 they took all the instruments they used in 1 and 2 and threw them all into a blender but that would be a great disservice to how meticulously and beautifully composed these songs are to perfectly combine everything together
The best thing about xenoblade 3's music is that some of the themes with the flutes are diagetic, usually played by the 2 characters holding flutes that you see in the art, though some flute tracks are played by other characters. Keves (2 syllable word btw) battle and Carrying the weight of life are a few instances of the flutes not being diagetic though. Carrying the weight of life's flutes are symbolic however as they start playing when the main characters that play the flutes reach a decision to decide a certain fate and play for the entirety of their spur of the moment plan
Moebius Battle is truly a religious experience. I was looking forward to this and spaced on it for 8 months, oops. But it didn't disappoint. It build for literally almost 9 minutes with very little repetition, I still can't believe it exists
If you liked mobius battle theme, you may listen to the Promised Pain - Xenosaga III(Last boss battle theme) the predecessor of great Xenoblade series and it is oslo Tetsuya Takahashi creation
9:16 I've been trying to place what this reminded me of since release, and you're right! It's so Fairy Tail that I'm mad I didn't realize before this lol
I hope you do touhou music in the future. The entirety of the series help caused the creation of undertale and all of its music. As a plus the creator of the series is very lax with the copyright for his characters and music which allows for anyone to create derivative works of touhou from song remixes to selling your own games. For some song suggestions they are Gensokyo the Gods Loved, Broken Moon, Maiden's Capprico, Love Colored Master Spark, Flowering Night, Hartman's Yokai Girl, and U.N. Owen Was Her.
You want to know the crazy part pretty much every song you listened to is found in the first 2 chapters of the game. Moebius Battle is the first chapter boss theme.
After all this I want Emily to react to Leauge of Legends champions theme so bad , I swear she would pass out in the middle record bc basically all of them are bangers.
Sad piano, phenomenal guitar, and now also the epic flute Everytime you think they put everything out already, there's another chapter to the music, I'm surprised there's always more Carrying the weight of life is like, you crying, you get up then you cry again and it keeps going lol
Huh, interesting. I didn’t know that the Moebius Battle Theme had Phases, I thought it was just one Theme with some Variations to it depending on who was being fought?
i would love to suggest checking out Terraria ost, specifically some of these themes: - terraria journey's end title theme - underground theme - Queen Slime theme - Aether biome theme - Plantera theme - credits theme
Tactical action, the track used in the literal beginning of the game and then they be like "you fine without this track right?" and you now get nothing else.
Absolutely need a part 2 and really hoping it has Redeem The Future (phase 1 & 2) Because imo that genuinely might be the best theme ive heard in any xenoblade and thats a crazy thing to say considering all the existing crazy themes😂
You should really listen to Super Mario 3D World music! It's one of the first ever Mario games I've played and in my opinion has the best music in Mario.
I love how she thought Carrying the Weight of Life was like and endgame music, when in reality its only used like 3 times in the whole game, including the DLC
0:07 Off-Seer
4:05 Tactical Action
7:43 Keves Battle

*Battle themes* (most of these are dynamic and so they'll change depending on the state of battle)
- *You Will Know Our Names Finale* : a staple of the series, bombastic overworld boss theme
- *Formidable Enemy* : the intricate music patterns here are delightful, and the bass and drum carry hard
- *Immediate Threat* : one of the hypest generic boss themes I've heard
- *Redeem the Future* : The final boss theme of the entire saga, very fitting imo
- *Agnus Battle* : the opposite to Keves Battle, if that one was fun, this one is intense
- *New Battle!!!* : similar to Keves Battle, groovy and a blast to hear
- *Words that never reached you* : this game's sad battle theme, it hits HARD with context :'(
- *Ultimate Enemy* : GUITAR lol
*Area themes* (I've seen people say this game has bad area themes. To them I say, take a listen to these)
- *Millick Meadows* : majestic, beautiful, sweeping orchestra
- *Eagus Wilderness* : gorgeous chill acoustic guitar
- *The Great Sea Stirs* : boat theme, but if you were about to save the world
- *Origin* : this one is just really cool and climactic imo
- *Cent-Omnia Region* : your more standard bombastic Xenoblade area theme, but with a melancholic tone
- *Black Mountains (Prison Island)* : electric guitars in Xenoblade am I right
- *Fort O'Virbus* : super triumphant city theme, fitting for that point in the story I guess
Well would you look at that, I left all cutscene tracks behind and managed to list 15 songs, and there are still many more I'd recommend 😭 No wonder this got nominated to soundtrack of the year tbh.
Honorable mention but I love “The bereaved and those left behind”.
It’s the theme that plays during the sad/sentimental moments in the game.
I always found it lovely how great Xenoblade can blend sci-fi worldbuilding with the touching feel of fantasy narratives. As a result the music is wholly unique in having both the greatest prog rock bangers and ballad sobbers.
The subgenre of Xenoblade’s rock is “Brog Roc”.
@@corrinflakes9659😂
This is hilariously fitting.
The most emotionally hard hitting game I’ve ever played. Please do a part two! Great video!
Part 2 would be great and for Xenoblade 2 music too, pleaseeee! There are a lot of epics tracks that you don't still listen
Might cry..."
This reminded me of another person's reaction to an official rearrangement of Flash Frost from Atelier Rorona.
As someone who loves to whistle, those flute songs are a BLAST to sync with.
The entire Xenoblade Trilogy truly is a banger, all around!
Some context for the songs because they deserve it:
I believe Off-Seer is the title theme of the game. Think it really fits the theme of death, which is what this game is all about; death.
Tactical Action is the song that plays during *the tutorial* of the game. A remixed version of it plays during the final dungeon of the game, which is a nice detail, especially with how circles of life also play a huge thematic role in the game.
Keves Battle (pronounced keh-ves) is the regular battle theme that plays during most regular battles in the game, at least in the first half of the game, and it's always a good time lol
Brilliant wings is a remix of a theme from Xenoblade 1, and only plays when a character from that game is in your party.
It's also the fan favourite song lol
Carrying the Weight of Life is basically this game's version of Xenoblade 2's Counterattack. Sadly it only plays in like 2 cutscenes, but both of them are so insane that it makes up for it.
Go play this game already, it's an easy 10/10 and you will cry at least twice
Moebius Battle isn't *the* regular boss theme. That's Immediate Threat.
They removed the flute in Brilliant Wings because the flute is now associated with Noah, Mio, and the offseers and not with the queen
I hope she does X, it’s got some of my favorite Xenoblade tracks
Would love to see an XCX reaction, I love Noctilum's themes to death. Especially In the Forest.
This whole soundtrack, and Xenoblade 2's still make me cry every time
You have some of the most genuine reactions ever! I'm so happy you're loving these soundtracks!
If you decide to do a part 2 to this I heavily recommend listening to the song called "A formidable foe".
You'll be happy to know the two flutes aren't there just for the soundtrack cover art's sake, but play a big, big part in these characters' respective(and common) story arcs. If you really wanted something to cry about, there's a good source...
one of my fav games of all time. i bought the soundtrack and it comes in 9 freakin disks
I don't blame you for being speechless during half the runtime of these songs, there's so much to take on and it's all so good
23:41
Emily: I hope that this one is a bit more mellow.
*Enter Carrying the Weight of Life*
Me: Haha, you fool.
Play the game you won't regret it! You'll laugh you'll cry, there's no way you won't like it
If you liked mobius battle theme, you may listen to the Promised Pain - Xenosaga III(Last boss battle theme) the predecessor of great Xenoblade series and it is oslo Tetsuya Takahashi creation
Someone tell her that the Moebius battle is one of the earlier boss musics.
And with Carrying the Weight of Life, you WILL cry
9:16 I've been trying to place what this reminded me of since release, and you're right! It's so Fairy Tail that I'm mad I didn't realize before this lol
And now you have experienced all of the Xenoblade music, and now, I hope you one day try to experience the games
I remember hearing moebius and it heavily reminded me of xenogears and xenosaga. That made me realize oh shit this is going to be a hell of a ride!
I hope you do touhou music in the future. The entirety of the series help caused the creation of undertale and all of its music. As a plus the creator of the series is very lax with the copyright for his characters and music which allows for anyone to create derivative works of touhou from song remixes to selling your own games.
For some song suggestions they are
Gensokyo the Gods Loved,
Broken Moon,
Maiden's Capprico,
Love Colored Master Spark,
Flowering Night,
Hartman's Yokai Girl,
and U.N. Owen Was Her.
You want to know the crazy part pretty much every song you listened to is found in the first 2 chapters of the game. Moebius Battle is the first chapter boss theme.
I gotta say this is the best ost of all time
You need to hear the chain attack theme!
Absolute banger!
It really makes you feel like you're invincible.
GoW Ragnarok wishes it was in the same league as Xenoblade Chronicles 3's music.
After all this I want Emily to react to Leauge of Legends champions theme so bad , I swear she would pass out in the middle record bc basically all of them are bangers.
This video has been out for 10 hours and I already need a part 2 XD
Sad piano, phenomenal guitar, and now also the epic flute
Everytime you think they put everything out already, there's another chapter to the music, I'm surprised there's always more
Carrying the weight of life is like, you crying, you get up then you cry again and it keeps going lol
Huh, interesting.
I didn’t know that the Moebius Battle Theme had Phases, I thought it was just one Theme with some Variations to it depending on who was being fought?
Oh my god I remember the first time I heard keves battle about a week or two before the game released. It got me soooo hype
i would love to suggest checking out Terraria ost, specifically some of these themes:
- terraria journey's end title theme
- underground theme
- Queen Slime theme
- Aether biome theme
- Plantera theme
- credits theme
Tactical action, the track used in the literal beginning of the game and then they be like "you fine without this track right?" and you now get nothing else.
Absolutely need a part 2 and really hoping it has Redeem The Future (phase 1 & 2)
Because imo that genuinely might be the best theme ive heard in any xenoblade and thats a crazy thing to say considering all the existing crazy themes😂
Yes Keves battle is massive fairy tail vibes. Sounds like a team up battle from fairy tail
I hope there is part 2 soon since these tracks were on the weaker side imo..
And I would love a reaction to my fav xenosaga ost "I believe in you"
Yes!!! My favourite out of the Xenoblade games!!! :D
PART 2! POG!
When moebius battle started playing, I genuinely starting stressing in game 😭
God I love the moebius theme so much
Damn now I have to subscribe for Part 2
You should really listen to Super Mario 3D World music! It's one of the first ever Mario games I've played and in my opinion has the best music in Mario.
I love how she thought Carrying the Weight of Life was like and endgame music, when in reality its only used like 3 times in the whole game, including the DLC
the soundtrack of all time
