My favorite part of this episode of Commanders Guidance was Joseph mentioning "....the dreaded conclusion of Game Over." It is such a whiplash between ancient (for lack of a better term) and modern speech and Josephs voice actor delivered this line so perfectly, i couldn`t help, but snicker. Props to the VA.
There was a catapult in Monica’s sidequest. It deals a massive amount of damage but it can be slightly hard to aim since you have to account for the time it takes for the projectile to travel and you have to make sure you don’t hit your own units either.
So it essentially adds more time without rewinding? In that case, does winning the battle after running out of time and getting more mean that you could get a Victory result like "Time: 3:47/1:50"? That would probably hurt the amount Honor awarded to you, plus you'd be using a hallowed corn ash, so there's definitely still a lot of incentive to reserve them for other uses. Still, an entire new timer is massive if you're close to the end as you'd likely not lose many more points, and you wouldn't have to restart. The length of some of these maps definitely makes that seem worth it at times.
@@Lunarwingluna yeah, it's just a fresh timer. Unless the new timer has less time for some reason, which we can't see since there are no numbers, it is just doubling your time to complete the stage. That's honestly probably its best use. A couple of Valor Points is basically just one use of a Valor Skill.
I did two runs in the demo. One to watch the cut scenes and the other to focus on combat skipping the scenes. The game is crazy good sooo soo much depth, I can't wait for the 8th!
If I had scrolled past your channel I would have missed the game, the demo and an amazing experience. So thanks for that, looking forward to hitting the full game soon.
Oh, and ourside of the point thing I've been using HC Ash on a recent challenge run of the demo. I dont know whay it does for obiective losses, but it does refill your meter if it's a time loss. (Side note, I've been trying a Spear Only challenge to see more about anti counter play, and it's been more flexible than expected.)
I like the lightning prayer and i think it’s a tornado prayer. Not only it hits the enemies that you aim but it keeps moving and hits enemies further out.
I'm so glad we finally get to see what class the bear is! Ever since seeing him in the background of the comic I was wondering if he was going to be a unique or generic but since it has the X mark on his face like the comic it looks like he might be unique!
4:35 They are VERY helpful for time. You carry on the battle and it resets the whole timer. I like playing defensively, and ran into the timer fail once in the demo, so it is integral!
Using the Ash refreshes all the time limit and the battle continues from exactly where you were. If you had to use one because the enemy took your main base, they are repelled from your base as if they had lost a combat. (Yes, I tested all that during the demo)
It's important to note that while the Ash does bounce the enemy unit away from your base, it doesn't do anything else. They aren't stunned or even slowed. They aren't pushed far away and they can immediately recapture the base. That is a bad use of Ash in my opinion. For a situation where the enemy is about to breach your base and you have no more units to deploy, using that item that Josef gives you will teleport you to your base. Conversely, if you have Yahna already, and 2 Valor Points to spare, you can teleport her there (or any unit with a witch set up as leader).
the hallowed corn ash resets the battle timer to full and continues the mission from that exact moment. it trivializes the mission timer but im guessing they cant be overly farmed.
On Normal difficulty my base got snuck up on by a griffon when I wasnt looking and it offered me the Ashe but I just went to the last auto save and didnt lose anything. Then I didnt do anything different just kept an eye on that griffon and the AI chose to do a completely different thing which was interesting.
I am so eager to see the various Bestral units! So we’ve got a werewolf, a lion(from the title screen) a bear, and whatever the heck Dinah is from the first trailer confirmed so far
As far as I've seen you can use the hallowed ash to fully revive a formation in the deployment point after it has been wiped out. And as you say you can use it with a formation to gain valor points.
I think different missions types if done well will be an absolute blast, especially the defence missions. You highlighted the snow map where you're in the middle and I'd like to point out on the catapult map you're also in the middle with enemies coming at you and you're loaded with defences and siege weaponry, sooooooo....hopefully? Haha
This reminds me of how Josef pulls us aside to “teach” us about tactics before the final mission of the demo. It’s like bro I’m playing on expert, I wouldn’t have even made it this far if I hadn’t already figured that all out for myself xD
I think for the snow map that is either an defense map which would be nice instead of constantly defeat specific enemy or its possible that its an map that has 2 important fortress's and you need to capture 1 to clear the mission, since being at the center is an terrible location to get attacked from many sides
There are 2 catapults to play with in the demo. One is in the lv 13 training area, and I think Melisandre's map has the other. You can use it to get great XP on low level units.
Played the demo... and honestly, I think it's super cool that you can actually still use Josef and just throw apples at him instead of just benching him if I need to clutch even harder on him. I've always thought it's a shame that you just don't care about Jagans in FE after the initial clutch stage
I've been playing on a Switch Lite and not seen any stutter. Obviously the resolution is going to be worse but there aren't Issues Issues as far as I can tell.
Looking forward to the tactics stream, hopefully I will be free to watch and participate. Playing the game enough to test the tactics discussion on your last video was not a good plan on my part as now Im like an addict whos been told that he cant get his fix till next friday. Cmon devs you can make more good strategy and tactics games? Right? Just a tiny stategy battler? Just a five minute fix daddy needs h- ahem... But all that information was worth it... or so I keep telling myself while glancing at my switch convincing myself I dont need to play the demo I can wait. I dont need it. "Insert Spongebob meme here"
I think that bear warrior class might end up in my top ten favorite classes for this game. Just because of the total randomness, and the fact my last name is bear spelled differently!
We saw a ballista in the Mellisandre fight in the demo, and they do fire it at you. Has a limited amount of ammo, and whatnot. Interesting to see the variety they'll have with those.
I can't stop playing this game. I've got two demo playthroughs already, both of which are largely the same in terms of level reached and content completed. The second playthrough is slightly further for the simple fact that I was able to skip story moments that I'd already seen. I'm seriously considering starting a third playthrough, where I speed run everything that I've done thus far to get that much deeper into the game for next Friday. This might be the best strategy/tactics game that I've ever played. I frickin love it. 😂 Edit: The Hallowed Corne Ash came in handy for me when I forgot that I set Alain as the leader and didn't change it back to Travis. So I'm thinking that I have a quicker stamina recharge, and then I get attacked and wiped. That wasn't why I used the Ash though. Getting wiped caused me to spend too much time getting that unit to a garrison to rez and gain health back. So I just barely ran out of time before being able to finish Bruno. Using the Ash when I was asked, gave me a full reset on the time limit. So yeah, they're pretty useful.
Ive been glued to this game ever since i first saw your videos and ive been enjoying my time in the demo, looking foward to seeing how you play the game! Btw did you spare Gammel?😅
I'm not the guy you're asking, but I'll answer anyway lol. No, I did not. And after seeing what happens later on, I'm even more glad that I didn't. Real pos that guy. 😂
8:09 huh, I see why now..... migraine caused a brain lag, tsk tsk mister. It's Kool though, she's got nice features. 9:35 yo that bear gots a large rectangle shield too. Dudes Ganna be a mean mfker. 10:36 might have to shuffle teams around like Do so do. Have 2 teams poke enemy teams and bases, 3-4 on defence, and 2 sweeping the map.
I just hope they dont knee cap Alain by making his promotion story only (Thats what ruins most fire emblem lords) espeically since hes shaping up to be one of the better units. Also Im hoping he will have an option to dismount off his horse cuz promoting only to gain a cav weakness leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
So you become weak vs griffon but lose the weakness vs cavalry, gain 2x damage vs other infantry and has higher mobility? I think cavalry has much better upside unless I’m missing something

I think archaic is the word you're looking for.
@@TurinTurambar200 Yeah that's what I would call it, archaic or Shakespearean
@@TurinTurambar200Ah thank you.

More specifically it one shots enemy units, dealing some 40 damage
and ballista up that direction as well
If possible using it for stationary enemies at choke points and towns to whittle them down or outright remove them.
I ran out of time on a stage and the hallowed ash straight up just gave me a whole new timer
Yeah, it was absolutely worth it.
Oh damn, I see
Yup

Spears absolutely feel like they've got the best variety of classes for such a run. Damage, healing, tanking etc.

This is great. I'm not a fan of time limits, as it limits the fun I can have. So I will definitely be looking to abuse this.
You also don`t receive bonus points for time when using them, meaning you take a cut in the renown and honors you receive.

At 2:48 timestamp you can see some team comps displayed.. some interesting looking classes and characters in there!

@TitaniumLegman Yeah, is an interesting one. The swordfighter is nasty, and the ballista is such an amazing xp farm for whoever you man it with.
