For anyone who’s been to white duck taco, they have some of the best fusion tacos and flavor combos out there. That location specifically brought all the vibes after a day on the river.
As a foothills native, it was always fun going there with a big group of friends. To imagine some stranger sitting next to me, or any of the lovely staff, probably lost everything, is unacceptable. I want to help in any way I can.

Was lucky enough to take a trip to Asheville and the surrounding areas a couple of years ago. I loved everything about it- what a cool city!! We also spent a day in Black Rock which I loved just so very much as well. One of the most charming, sweetest small towns I have ever been to. I am so brokenhearted to watch what everyone is going through. We are all sending help and love and I cannot wait to go back and visit again and again!!!!

Do you somehow expect FEMA trailers to magically appear where there are no roads? Maybe chinook helicopters to land on the side of a mountain with no clearing, no safe landing zone? FEMA, national guard, and other military, as well as state and local resources have been deployed. They’re doing a great job. Also getting lots of criticism from Monday morning quarterbacks who think this is a Hollywood movie.
If you think you can do a better job, I’m sure there are organizations you can volunteer with that would be happy to have you. That would be much more productive than what you’re doing now.

Maybe watch and read news from Asheville, Charlotte and Raleigh tv and papers instead of Mr Memes Clickbait and Fake news page and videos if you were stuck and you finally got a signal. , all you saw were reposts of lies, incorrect information...And it is unlike you even Katrina. Im from Buncombe County, if you are unfamiliar w that part of the state there are so many tiny towns, hills and hollers , trees, trails... It is the Appalachian trail, people w homes not far from it. Some kin to the first settlers and lots of rich assholes who built homes that were not supposed to be there but greed. We have the highest peak Easy of the Mississippi. . it is not a typical subdivision situation outside of the Asheville city limits.

My heart is broken into a million pieces. I just wish I had the money to buy all the people affected a brand new home filled with brand new furniture, a new car and a check and lots of hugs. If I could I certainly would. ✝✝. It's very difficult to watch this videos. Our home was flooded when I was a little girl in Southwest Virginia by the Clinch River and the memory of seeing our home filled with rusty water half way up the walls is seared into my memory to this very day decades later. To see your home with a raging river running through it just does something awful to you.

I have lived in the New Orleans area for almost all of my 66 years, including the aftermath of Katrina. There will be better days ahead.

Hopefully the residents of Asheville can hold on. I know our President remembers the tremendous support he received from the city homeowners and will send support to the ravaged area.

I live in Johnson City Tennessee its total devastation in Jonesboro Greenville 107 Telford Newport I want to help so bad but NO ONE will pick me up its a shame idk any good people one girl did come pick up a huge box of clothes and bedding I had but didn't say anything when i said "i have a shovel I have time I have hands I'll wven give you gas No she just took that box and was on her merry way. So im gonna pack a backpack & start walking in the direction of telford it'll take me days to get to one of these hard hit places, but i cant cant just sit back and do nothing if it kills me I'll die helping

I wish everyone realized this won't be the last disaster ... it is likely the next one will be even worse if that's even possible. My point is, it's now when you all put your heads and hearts together and decide where and how to rebuild. Yes we all want to return it to what it was best as we can... but is that really the best way to handle this? Is it not a good idea to consider rebuilding at higher elevations...using more practical materials and even rebuilding with as much recycled materials as possible. Hasn't anyone considered the amount of trees alone that will be cut down just to rebuild what was already there that is now laying somewhere else? All that brick being destroyed... brick made hundreds of years ago... wasted destroyed... the amount of old growth lumber being destroyed is staggering. Much of the old growth lumber was made with long leaf pines of trees over 600 years old.. oak lumber from 1000 year old trees cypress lumber from 1200 year old trees..

We have been hearing from some of the local people that they question this all not being a natural disaster, but possibly caused by weather manipulation, cloud seeding, geo-engineering, different names but basically the same thing, which has been happening for over 50-60 plus years, just more sophisticated, technology able to control weather/storms, rainfall/flooding etc. Sure there’s always been and will be natural weather that brings terrible calamity, but there are those in power that can purchase or pay others to manipulate the weather. There are local people who have said they know of a company or companies that want to buy out a lot of the locals properties in order to mine the mountain areas for lithium. I’m not sure if there’s people that have already been contacted with offers to buy their properties, at this time, but I find the locals saying this to be something quite serious to look further into. There have been comparisons with Lahaina Maui and several counties in different parts of California and possibly other places where people have had catastrophic experiences with losing their homes and properties, after more than unusual weather related events, and basically without going into all the details at this time, this raises questions like other places where the local people felt their properties were destroyed and then building codes and requirements were greatly increased and very costly, so much bureaucracy with rebuilding their homes, excessive costs, new requirements and people who have lost everything, get pushed into a situation that they end up finally accepting the buyout of their properties, only for large corporations to take over the land for whatever new big business they intend to start, which very much seems to have been planned and instigated in back room meetings between politicians, businesses and whoever wants in on the next big opportunity for wealth! I don’t know, these are questions to look into, after hearing local people say they are wondering if what’s happening is related to lithium mining and any other reasons to at least be aware of and research and know if there is anything to this possibly being used as a land grab. Even if the weather wasn’t manipulated and was just a terrible situation that will take years for people to put their lives back together. Could it be that there are also opportunists that are large corporations or whatever that see people losing everything and thinking they have an opportunity to get prime land for nothing after this all happened? People in Lahaina Maui are dealing with this still, and probably have some good and helpful things to warn and guard these NC people as they continue going through this. Northern California and Paradise California are other places to find out more from tragic fires and storms. Texas and other places over the past years have also probably had some things happen to look into how the people affected, handled things and their advice. ❤👍🏽
One of the worst hurricanes that ever hit the US, and the strongest hurricane winds to hit the US was back in 1935. Over 80 years ago, when the most advanced technology available was a mechanical calculator, in the era where biplanes and dirigibles were just starting to be replaced. Hurricanes have been a regular part of the south for a very long time. Many of the mountain communities suffered similar historic damage back during the 1910s, when the previous rainfall records were set.
These storms aren't created intentionally. There's no mass conspiracy theory behind natural disasters. Please find some better sources of information. "A local person said so" is a pretty terrible source. You don't have names of the people doing the reporting, pictures of those activities, documentation, or anything else. It basically boils down to "trust me bro", which is pretty hard when you claim that somehow companies are going to buy land to mine a rare metal that's more abundant in other less populated areas of the US. Why would the US use weather to hurt its own citizens instead of using weather to harass their enemies? Your whole conspiracy theory just makes no sense.
It is definitely weather manipulation. This is 100% true. Burning fossil fuels has been increasing the level of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere for over 100 years. We’re now getting to the point where 500 year storms are happening every few years. Warm air has the capacity to hold more moisture than cooler air. Look up the term “relative humidity“. The amount of water in the air definitely “relates to“ the temperature.
Greenhouse gas concentrations are directly proportional to air and ocean temperature. The higher the concentration, the higher the ocean temperatures and the stronger the storms.
The data for atmospheric CO2 concentration can be viewed in the Keeling Curve. Before that Paleoclimatologists look at polar ice cores. That data goes back 420,000 years.
This is settled science. You can look it up and I hope you do.

You can look at the keeling curve for evidence of increased atmospheric CO2 since 1951. Before that paleoclimatologists look at polar ice cores that go back 420,000 years. The science is data based, peer reviewed and settled.
Stick to the science. That’s the only way we will ever get out of this recurring nightmare.

Because of the geographical area, the terrain and washed out roads, and the debris - the government is doing everything possible to bring assistance to all impacted by this catastrophic event, however, there has to be a coordinated effort. No disaster of this magnitude and geography can see everyone receiving assistance immediately based upon various challenging aspects. The reality is that an outside person coming in depends on the local community to communicate with them and show them where the assistance is needed. Pray for them. 🙏
