add some hot sauce (shakes bottle, nothing comes out)
top it with remaining tomato juice (adds 3 drops)

Bloody Mary's are one of the greatest drinks of all time. But, as mentioned, it's one of the most individualistic drinks of all time. The "pared down" bloody he made was a very "pared down" drink recipe. Nothing like what I make, but that's me. I'm sure he has 2 dozen variants he could call up during a shift at the bar.
What do you add?
I agree with the celery salt comment. I think it adds a completely different flavour profile to the drink. I was scratching my head though trying to figure out if the celery salt is traditional to the Bloody Ceaser though or if it's used in both. Regardless, celery salt would go well with the Mary.

It's meant to stimulate the more mild pallets better to have too little than too much. You can always add more.

I’m confused about the pour. He mentioned two different ounces for tomato juice and vodka but he pour the same amount with the tomato juice
The first cup was 1.5 ounces, the second was 2. Please observe the various cup sizes he has present on the table.

Pro tip: soy sauce is a good substitute for Worcestershire sauce.
Soy sauce is also an ingredient in many Michelada recipes, which has similar ingredients to a bloody.

The original bloody mary is much the same. You start off with the spices then add a layer of Worcestershire, then add everything else.

sciroccopub - the less ice, the faster the drink melts and quicker you ruin the drink.
couldn't you stir it with a spoon before adding ice (so that you would not need to mix it with 2 glasses, or at least so that you would need to do it for less times)? Or is it also important for the cooling of the drink?
actually the back and forth motion mixes it like shaking because if u actually shake it the texture would be a little wierd
always like to watch a bartender work. I make my bloodys stronger and hot as hell.
The best bloody mary I've had is in a pint glass.
1 Pinch of horse radish
1 Pinch black pepper
1 pinch celery salt
2 pinches garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 dashes tobacco sauce
1/4 tsp. lemon juice
2 dashes yellow mustard
Small splash dill pickle juice
4 oz. Tomato juice
Role between two glasses to incorporate ingredients. Garnish how you like. Enjoy!😊

Well I decided to make my 1st Bloody Mary so here I am, I used a cheap 42proof vodka, V8 Spicy Hot, Worcestershire Sauce, Lawry's Seasoned Salt, Fresh Ground Black Pepper and Burns & McCoy Exhorresco Hot Sauce and man...I am lit da fuk up!

I make mine with one part vodka, 2 parts vegetable juice, with a splash of zesty pickle juice and a splash of sweet n sour mix. And a little salt.
Pretty cool never thought of hot pickle juice.I use a caned hot pepper in prep but take it out of finished drink.Going grocery shopping tomorrow I'll get the zesty pickles.thanks

tried to make this drink today, tasted like cold tomato soup with vodka, not sure if I did something wrong, not bad, but takes some time to get used to :D
After two more mixed drinks you will be perfectly used to it! LOL
You should add more spices and ingredients till you get something you like. like he said it's very individual what you prefer.

Where I come from a bloody marry is when u got a bone to pick with someone so u punch each other in the face and then you both go out for straight vodka no water no ice and a tall glass after
instead of tabaco I add a dash of A1 but the rest is the same. Yumy.

I like using red chili paste and freshly squeezed key lime juice, then you run it through a strainer to get the chunks out, garnish with celery (with the leafy bit still attached!) and lime. Also, less ice.
