I'm glad the young lady knows something about the regional geography and has a location awareness when traveling. Obviously done her research before leaving home.
Awh thank you for this comment, this is a really nice compliment and I’m glad this comes across! I’m definitely a researcher of places I visit, I love to learn all about new places 😊 - Josie
@@JamesandJosieTravel It is a beach of convenience because you can get public transport and go to Sydney CBD . I love remote beaches that are untouched and have it all to yourself . I hope you are having a great time .
Much smarter to have stayed at Dee Why. All beaches on the Manly side have pools you can swim in. As a kid I swam all over the beaches from Palm Beach to Manly. There are LOTS of them and they are all good. Have fun. Mike in Oz
The Icebergs Swim Club Bondi Beach: During the winter months (May to the end of August) Ice blocks go in the pool in the early morning when the swim club uses the pool and this lowers the water temperature. It's apparently good for circulation! The club was set up to keep life guards fit during winter and they have to competitively swim 3 Sundays out of 4 for 5 years to qualify as a fully fledged Iceberg.
I enjoyed the video, but still wondering 1. how you ended up crossing the Anzac Bridge going from Dee Why to Bondi? and 2. Why you wouldn't have gone to any of the great beaches on the north side to avoid the city?
Good question, we did it to avoid tolls! 😅 In our other Sydney videos we visit Manly & the beaches along the Hermitage Foreshore! We did miss so many amazing beaches though… - James

its May - June to August is the Australian winter and too cold to go to the beach
Hahaha not for English travellers! 😅 - James
its winter....
It is the most famous but not our most beautiful beach . They do have good waves most of the time .Great video thank you !
I wonder why it became so famous? Australia has some better beaches, for sure!! Thank you for your support! - James

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense!!! Same! We feel like WA might have a lot of those? 😁
the beach is empty because it is winter in australia and why the sand and the water is cold
You would not be able to see the sand in summer , it would be packed.
Fun video guys .
That’s what we thought! It was still amazing weather when we visited, hotter than an English summer, that’s for sure!

We loved our stay in Dee Why! We visited lots of the pools, it’s a great idea. Do you have a favourite?! - Josie

Interesting! It was freeeeezing, that’s for sure. It’s such a good idea for life guard training, we didn’t know that! - Josie

If you swam straight out from Bondi Beach you would eventually reach the coast of Chile. And have a world swimming record! 😀
Hahaha - it would be impressive. It blows our minds to think that there’s nothing but water between Bondi and Chile… 😄
@@JamesandJosieTravel Yes, you just miss the north island of New Zealand
Wow. It’s amazing! We don’t have anything like that back home. We would end up in France 😂
If you took the shortest (great circle) route to Valparaiso, you’d pass NZ South Island to the south.
Okay! Interesting 😄
Love your videos of our fine country may 24 my birthday too🎉
Thank you!!! We’re glad to have you here. Happy (very late) Birthday 😁 - Josie
cool
It's called Icebergs as they swim all year round in that club, in that pool....yes it is known to have Ice put in for publicity :)
Really? It had no ice when we visited, but it was freezing!! - Josie

Yeah that’s only great weather compared to the uk mate
Yep, you’re right. Australian winter is the UK summer… 😂 - James
Most Aussies don't go to Bondi ... Too many foreigners.
More of a tourist attraction? - James
I lived in Bondi and used the beach but it has been ruined by tourism. It’s simply famous for its close proximity to the CBD .
Interesting. We wouldn’t say it was “ruined”, we really enjoyed ourselves there! - James

New Zealand
Swim that way to become shark bait ✌🏼
Yep, maybe not today… 😂 - James
if you swam all that way you would get to new zealand.
Dead.
