This is such a great video. With quarantine in effect, I'm teaching my massage students via Zoom, and videos like this are great reference points until we can be hands on in the classroom again. Also as a Massage Therapist who works on a multitude of different athletes, I can truly appreciate your thought process and technique. I'm very often told "No one has ever worked in my pecs and shoulder like that" lol Well done!

Hi Movement Underground. Have you noticed or experienced that people who have surgical SLAP repair have issues with bicep tendonitis? Your work on this patient looks exactly like what I need for myself. Great video.

Are you aware of anybody in minnesota that is available for a procedure like this? How many treatments like this would you expect for recovery on somebody with a mild case as such? And finally is there anything else along with a treatment like this you recommend? thanks so much!

This is pretty neat and informative stuff! Out of curiosity, what's your school background? How'd you get into this?

Hi Tandra, I am a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and have both bachelors and masters degrees. Soft tissue work like this is typically done by Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Chiropractors, as well as massage therapists. I am fortunate to have a sports medicine background, which helps my manual therapies be more targeted. Thanks for your comment! Please subscribe and I'll be posting more videos like this soon!

What kind of medical/therapeutic practitioner are you??? PT? D.C.? ? Also, how much does a service like this cost without insurance?

great video. I have had no luck trying to find a good physical therapist / sports medicine person for years; I have some shoulder and bicep issues. I don't suppose you could recommend anyone in the DC / Virginia area? or maybe the right questions to ask when trying to find a skilled therapist therapist?

mookangaroo22 If this is still a need for you, I’d like to suggest you reach out to Morgan Johnson, DPT at Evolution Sports. He was my bodybuilding coach in early 2000s when I lived there, so I know his skills very well. Under him, I never had an injury. However, while living in CA 3 years ago, I ended up with the same bicep tendinosis (this is the actual correct term) as this guy in the video. Morgan began PT on me, which included a technique called dry needling to bring more immune response to the tendon. It cured me in short time and I’ve had no problems since. Drop my name with him if you reach out to him.

sethk1212 helps me grip the instruments better. They can get really slippery from the cocoa butter. Also, I don't have a sink in my treatment room to wash my hands so the gloves help keep my hands clean. Not to mention they look cool.
