Bet they in joy there more crazy songs like og zan , different sense, Hageshisa to, Kono Mune No Naka De Karamitsuita Shakunetsu No Yami, there's more the pvs would be great the try the lives
It makes me happy that you say those drumds stands out, because Shinya, the drummer in this band, is famously known for being one of the best drummers in Japan, haha!
So, Dir en grey is basically 1 different band each album, early years u can appreciate the band members technique and kyo's clean vocals with tracks like 304 Goushitsu, Hakushi no Sakura, Hotarubi or Amber. You can check the “weird” and polemic side with obscure official video (The video may be hard to watch for some people, but actually is a critic towards abortion, as it was not well seen in japan, in the 90s) or ZAN (1999 version) video as well. You can fell how emotional can be with Ware Yami Tote or Aka...And, for me they magnum opus of beauty, technique and emotion altogether, Tousei. And this this hole is way deeper, we're talking about the best experimental band IN THE WORLD.
I love your DIR EN GREY reactions, you should do a reaction to an old song from 1999 like "raison detre" or "304 goushitsu no sakura" so you will can hear the musical change of the band. I'm sure you will like either of these two songs
I'd like to see y'all react to Diru's Kiri to Mayu (2012 version) It feels like a psychotic zombie werewolf scratching along the corridor walls to find you and eat you. I love it.
their most famous song is probably obscure. If you watch the uncut video, that stuff is nightmareful. Also anything off of Arch is a masterpiece. Amd just for a kick, just to see where the band came from anything from their late 90s era like missa and gauze is interesting to see.
😂 right? I was so confused by the vocal layering when I heard this re-recording first and I still am. It has a completely different vibe from the original which feels so much more dirty! But I appreciate the instrumentation here, especially the bass shines more here than in the original I think. And live Kyo sings it pretty much the same.
Ok, checking out all of these awesome Japanese metal bands but not the monster that inspired all of them?? Please PLEASE dip your toes into X Japan. They're an 80s rock/metal band that, as quoted by Gene Simmons from Kiss "if these guys were born in America, they might be the biggest band in the world." Kurenai is the song most people recommend, and it is a good song to introduce them. However, if you're interested in a Magnum Opus on par with Greatest Show on Earth or Poet and the Pendulum, I beg that you check out their song, "Art of Life" and really look at the lyrics. This song saved my life and many others.
I love this Dir en grey deep dive you've been doing!

You should react to Uroko if you want another music video from them. Its insane. Eating from mermaid guts, people with prothetic limbs.
My 1st Dir en grey song I ever heard and saw, hooked ever since!

This video always makes me think Toshiya (the bassist) is channeling his inner babushka energy.
You should react to the songs "the final"and/or "ryoujoku no ame" live at wacken 2007.

I've always pronounced it "Third" Empire. Not sure what the general consensus on that is!
Wow this version is really different from the one on the album. I almost dont like it, but its Dir en Grey sooo... \,,/
