Love your videos. Planning to move from Vietnam to Georgia in a month. I took notes from your previous videos, really like that organic delivery website you recorded, would definitely try it.
Hey Elena! Thanks so much for stopping by the channel. Where are you from? I miss Vietnam. Can't wait to go back one day. But you will also love Georgia! Yes, Soplidan is an amazing service! Use it well. :-)))
Hey there! Thanks so much for checking it out. I really appreciate it. Yes... for people earning well in USD or CAD, Georgia can be a real life upgrade! Great place to be right now. I'm now in Albania, which is also a great bang for buck. Hope to see you around. :-) Thanks again!
Not that cheap. I looked and it said Georgia is cheaper than Turkey but this video doesn’t seem to be the case. I am from Hawaii and some of these prices reflect some of the hidden gems I am able to find here in Honolulu which is ranked one of the highest cost of living cities here in the USA. Maybe these people are shopping like tourist not locals.
As a georgian, it was so interesting to listen to this cost of living from a foreigners perspective. Obviously this video's for fellow travelers, but if anyone's interested in a local's point of view here it is: for us it's actually quite expensive. veneers for example, you said that four cost 500 dollars which would be around 1600-1700 lari and when you consider that most people's monthly salary is on average 800-900 lari and a lot of times even less.... Yeah you can see that's it prettyyyyy expensive. Any medical stuff in general, medicine, surgery, or anything else costs a lot for us. Food and clothes are okay, there not cheap but definitely not supper expensive either (if you're not going for the fancy stuff of course), houses are super expensive, both to buy and to rent. Buying a two bedroom apartment would cost at least 60k dollars (while yearly salary you have can range from 6000-14000 lari on average, something like that) and if you wanna get a renovated one or furnished or in a new building it would be more obviously. Airbnb is definitely ripping you off, it's better to go on ss.ge or mymarket.ge or myhome.ge and you can rent a one bedroom apartment for like 400-700 lari depending on the condition, which is also quite expensive for us. If you're a student for example, jobs you have could pay you 250-500 lari a month so yeah, that's not enough to even cover the rent. Eating out is expensive in most cases, but you can definitely find some cheaper places as well. Education is alright i guess, a year in a state university costs 2250 lari, most families can manage this price (plus if you have high grades on the national exam you get a grant and can study for free or for half the price) so yeah it's not too bad, but private universities are really expensive, they can range from 5000 to 8000 lari which is too expensive for most families, you definitely need to be upper middle class at least to attend these (or get a loan which is what a lot people do, cause they believe these unis are much better and worth the debt, i personally don't agree with that) there are also some exceptions, to study to become a pilot the uni costs 20 000 lari a year and there's even a medical school (i think they also teach physics and stuff) which cost 20 000 dollars, yeah that's definitely crazyyy expensive. Usa 2 georgia is a lifesaver :dddd it can also get expensive tho, 1 kg is 8 dollars, so considering 1 dollar is about 3.2 lari right now, stuff on amazon is already not the cheapest plus paying for shipping and then additional 30 lari for every kg that gets delivered and it gets pretty expensive, still so thankful that usa 2 georgia exists :ddd it's only been a few years since it opened up and not being able to buy anything online either from amazon or like basically any other website was very annoying. Also, im sorry about taxi drivers, most of them do that because they know that foreigners find our country very cheap so they don't actually lose a lot of money, but of course that's very wrong its literally scamming and can't be excused, im sorry that that happens. I hope you enjoyed your stay in georgia and hope you come back soon, we really need those dollars flowing into the country to stabilize the exchange rate :ddddd (im kidding im kidding) (we really do need help with the exchange rate tho) :ddd
Hey Nestan! I really appreciate your comment! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and write such a thorough one. I hope it helps people! It's true that my video is catered to foreigners and I do realize that for Georgians a lot of things can be expensive. I did enjoy my stay indeed and I would love to go back to Georgia one day. For now I'm in Albania and I hope you'll come along for the journey. Thanks again! :-)

Hi, Merrilyn! Thanks so much for checking out my video. :-) Nicki has her own channel now. I'm sure she'll be glad to help you if you ask her over on "Nicki Posts Travel Stuff".
I like this fast paced video giving lowdown of cost of general expenses for a traveler. I have gone through several videos on Tbilisi but about other things. It would be helpful if I know about the weather throughout the year.
I'm so glad it was helpful to you. That was the intention: lots of information on costs but delivered in a more entertaining way. A quick Google search will give you more info on the weather. Good luck and thanks for watching. :-)
@@GringoNation My uncle had these symptoms he quit alcohol smoking did food allergy testing , began to avoid allergic foods, started fermented foods like Kimchi and adopted a vegetarian life style. @@bobwa399 thanks so much, Bob! I’m trying hard to change my eating and drinking habits. It’s hard to give up things you love so much but of course it’s for my own good. But I try and take a step in the right direction every day. Thanks so much for taking the time to write that! :-)
Hey Aurelio! Thanks so much for your kind comment. :-) I'm not in Tbilisi anymore so unfortunately I can't but the internet in Georgia is mostly great. Much better than here in Turkey anyways. If you want more concrete numbers, I suggest you join one of the expat groups on Facebook and someone is sure to help you there!
I see your point, For me, I am trying to get a general sense of the total cost comparison between various countries, as I am trying to decide which ones to visit/move to, etc. MANY senior ex-pats are exploring alternatives to the U.S., where they can afford to kive, based on their Social Security payments (roughly $1500 p/m). I understand that I can spend less or more, depending on my lifestyle choices, but it gives me a workable idea. Perhaps doing both with that same caveat (i.e. "these were MY expenses, your's may vary". BTW, I like the haircut, I recently did the same and, like you, I really love it.
I wonder if you're talking about my current haircut in Albania or the one in this video. haha. Either way, I appreciate you watching and just so you know: 1500 is a hefty sum for Georgia or Albania. Great quality of life. I made Georgia work on 800 USD at any given point. Cheers!
@@GringoNation I was speaking about your Albanian haircut (#1 setting, same as mine). Yeah, I get that, depending on the country, $1500 can provide you a nice lifestyle in many particularly in the Balkans.. Eastern Europe, is a very attractive area but any of your followers who are 65+ will be using that as a reference point, even if just comparing which country provides the best opportunity. Once I get on the road again (I am currently an ex-pat/citizen in Ireland) perhaps we can tag up along the trail. First round will be on me. Thanks again for all you do and your positive outlook.

Thanks for watching, Jay! :-) home internet for me tended to be very good but I always had data as a backup because there were the occasional light outages! Hope u enjoy Georgia
As a georgian, I couldn't believe some numbers. 10 dollars for Uber? Lol i drive for 2 dollars 1-1.5 hour ride. I get a full haircut for 2 dollars and as i know, it's around 5-10 bucks which really varies on quality. I think it was tourist technic you guys were affected, but it's okay, not every Georgian is like that. Great video, i didn't even know exact costs for number of things you two mentioned. Thanks😊😀.
Thanks for checking out the video! We didn't pay 10 dollars on an uber, we just know people that got scammed. I was aware I was paying more for a haircut in a fancier spot. I'm glad Tbilisi works on your budget too. Cheers!
Nice. The Amazon package delivery is very nice to know. I would assume that it goes by weight, so might add up. Still nice to know you can get some things from back home. Also I forgot to subscribe the last time I was here. Thanks for the videos!
Hey thanks for subscribing, Richard! I really appreciate it! Glad I’m able to help. Yah USA2GEORGIA is a really great service that will help you out loads. You coming to Georgia soon?

@@GringoNation What has your experience with this company been like? I'm getting things in order right now to move from Ukraine to Georgia. Is the service reliable? Mostly curious about whether I could have someone send some of my American mail over to me when I get there, which might include some more sensitive things, like mortgage, credit card stuff, etc.
@@whotyjones Hey Ty! Thanks for watching the video. The service from USA2Georgia is mostly fine. The goods always arrive but sometimes you have to pay the tax at a bank and they get very confused with the process. But it tends to work out in the end. I would advise you to join some Facebook groups of people living in Georgia and they may be able to help you out with other options on how to get your mail here. I have gotten a credit card sent to my USA2Georgia by a friend but it needs to have a tracking number on it. That's the only way it will work. But the card arrived no problem. Best of luck with your move! :-)
USA2GEORGIA is just one among dozens of shipping companies operating in Georgia. Inex.ge, getit.ge, camex.ge, postalon.ge and so on. You can buy from Amazon, Ebay, 6 PM or from any other online shops. In all companies, you have to pay by weight. 1KG will cost you somewhere 6-7 US dollars.
Georgia is much more expensive than I thought. Probably tourists and digital nomads are boosting the consumer prices, whereas the locals' salaries stay the same and they have to cope with that.

Hey Catherine! Thanks for watching! I'm so glad it was helpful to you. That's exactly why I made this video. Because I knew it would be helpful for people thinking of moving there. Unfortunately things like that happen all over the world. Here in Georgia we're able to use Bolt and avoid any eventual scams. Thanks for watching! :-)
Some items are priced very affordable compared to USA like healthcare and internet service. Other items like groceries seem to be 60% of my grocery costs. But you probably quoted a price for the entire family, not just 1 person.
Hey Bolgavets, thanks for watching! Those grocery prices can probably only cover 1-2 people, but very comfortably, although since then prices have gone up due to the war and I don't live there anymore.
I am looking to retire in Georgia. Is there any place to buy between $10k-$20k USD for living any where? I wont mind a village as long as if it has basic amenities like power, water sewerage etc.

@@Chris-gi9ch the driving/roads can be a little crazy in georgia. Maybe most people are scared to ride them. But they’re def around! Also... everything is so cheap that people end up just hiring private drivers.

Hey David! Thanks so much for watching! So... the haircut I mention in this video is more a hip barber shop haircut, so it is a little more costly but if you go to a local shop, you'll pay much less. As for the food, I wouldn't say it's costly at all. Some places are unbelievably cheap, actually

Interesting you'd say that, John. I made the video thinking that if I laid out every cost, people could add up what their life would look like in Tbilisi. What I spend in a month is probably irrelevant to most people, but when they have an idea of how much each item or service costs, they can understand how much they would spend, on average. Thanks for watching!
Hey oraz, thanks for watching. In 2020 that was the price for a month, yes. Now, with the war next-door, rent prices have inflated so be aware of that.

I traveled to many countries one of my favour is Georgia. However there is one thing I do not like about Georgia, Georgia cities are one of dirtiest city in Europe. Do not get me wrong. The cities authorities try to clean the cities, but the problem is the thousands of stray dogs on the citied and their feces. A group of local doctors made an study. They said that the level of infection by dog parasite is so big in the population that it is endemic. The dogs infect the people and children. Many parasitic infections have not symptoms, to an epidemiologist, an endemic infection is one in which overall rates are static - not rising, not falling. More precisely, it means that the proportion of people who can get sick balances out the ‘basic reproduction number’ of the number of individuals that an infected individual would infect, assuming a population in which everyone could get sick. Walking on the street of Tbilisi I saw many young and old people with infection of parasites without symptoms . The same in Batumi. The local doctors reported the government back in 2018, so far the government has not done anything about it. The bad part is that people do not care about the problem, out of ignorance.
Thanks for watching and leaving your comment, Catherine! I made a video about the cons of Georgia and included the large amount of dog feces as one of them.

Hey Gabriel. Thanks for watching! I think Georgia is open to visitors from many countries. You should make sure online if your country is on the list.
Once I get on the road again (I am currently an ex-pat/citizen in Ireland) perhaps we can tag up along the trail. First round will be on me. Thanks again for all you do and your positive outlook.

And what website do you suggest for foreigners that need to rent a house before they arrive?
@@GringoNation There is facebook group called Binebi but the best way is having native friend who can help you rent normal size flat or even private house for only 150-200Lari.
@@lukamaisuradze400 Thanks for the info! :-)
Do you speak the Georgian language. And do you need to learn it to live here?
U don’t need to know Georgian to live there but it’s always a good idea to learn a little of the local language anywhere u go
What about the government there?
Hey! Thanks for watching! Not sure what your question is regarding but Georgia is a democracy. I won't speak on local politics as I don't know enough about it as an outsider, but I feel the government has done a fantastic job in containing the virus.
$3 for Georgian wine, talk about a bargain!
No kidding! I miss it already! Thanks for watching. :-)
I just realized that it’s not that cheap in Tbilisi.
Hey Khatia! Thanks for leaving your comment! Do you live in Tbilisi or are you thinking of coming?
@@GringoNation I think she is from Tbilisi but never calculated the costs in USD
@@alexandrutarlescu2963 ah yes, that makes sense. it's more expensive compared to the rest of Georgia but it's not so bad compared to other countries. Thanks for that! :-)
@@GringoNation I've been in Georgia in 2018 for 10 days, stayed in Tbilisi but I drove to other parts of the country (Signaghi,Stepansminda,Batumi,Zugdidi,) and stayed overnight in Stepansminda, Batumi and Poti, the remainder of nights in Tbilisi.Too bad I have not been to Svaneti and Tusheti region, although I was very close.I loved Georgia overall and I'm trying to get back as soon as possible.Hopefully this year...all my love to you guys and Georgia and Georgians.
@@alexandrutarlescu2963 So cool that you were able to explore this beautiful country, even if only for 10 days. There will always be more to see, even for me who has spent a year here. I hope you get to come back. Where are you based now? ;-)
Just found this station. Excellent info. For us older people, we are interested in the medical insurance and level of care available in these countries. I am an EA and already work remotely in the US. I could specialize in taxes for ex pats almost anywhere. I would also like to know which websites show property for sale in Georgia
I want to move out of west too. Fuck covid globalist agenda
A full weeks of groceries for me and my wife right now in the USA……$150
thanks for the info!
Please do you know any black community in batumi
Hey Anderson, thanks for watching! I would recommend searching for Facebook groups relevant to Batumi or anything related to the black community. Ask around there! :-)
Olá. Qual seria o preço do aluguel mensal fora do Airbnb?
Fala Dionesio! Depende muito da região, do apto etc. Minha amiga paga 300 num apê incrível. Da pra achar muita coisa boa por até menos q isso, mas claro que o processo eh mais complicado que airbnb
@@GringoNation As a doctor, I can tell you single gram of dog waste can contain 23 million fecal coliform bacteria, which are known to cause cramps, diarrhea, intestinal illness, dehydration, and kidney disorders in humans.
It’s cheap for US money but Georgian people don’t make that much money. Most of them
Hey Nia! Thanks for watching and leaving your comment. :-) Yah, I totally understand that. I guess my content is more suited for expats and digital nomads coming to Georgia.
The prices are great but it honestly looks so depressing there - very reminiscent of Soviet times.
Hey Chris! Thanks for checking out the video. I think the weather in this video might give that impression but I had an amazing time in Georgia and didn't really feel that way at all. Check out some of my other videos there and you'll see what I mean. Also, be aware that prices have gone up because of the war next door. I'm not in Georgia anymore but I continue suggesting it whole-heartedly. Cheers!
lol you guys getting laris and dollars confused eh
Hahaha! You should've seen us when we went from Georgia to Turkey. LARI 2 LIRA! Not THAT was confusing! Thanks for watching the video, Zaza! :-)
Gringo... are you brazilian, man? haha I am brazilian.
Oi, Tarsila! Tudo bom? Sou brasileiro, sim! Obrigado por assistir ao vídeo e parabéns pelo seu canal! Deve estar passando por experiências muito interessantes na índia. Bjo!
Yoo i think their ripping you gys off its like 3 or 5 lari for a hair cut
Yo, thanks for checking out the video. I'm sure if you're a local, going to local barbers, you're right. But I mention that this is a barber-shop catered to foreigners in Georgia, so prices are expected to be a little higher.
Yea i recommend the local barbers they arent worse than the ones you visited
@@Allat4Kio true. Anyone can make my hair look as bad as it does. I’ve left Georgia now. Hope you’ll join on the adventures through Turkey! ;-)
Yea thx
Dudddeee 1 coke costs 1 lari (georgian money)
Not that cheap so
Depends where you come from! Prices in Georgia are certainly cheap for loads of people.
@Alex Cricheck where do you live?
