India is a beautiful country but if I have to live there, I would choose Jaisalmer for its Desert, Shimla for its forest, Srinagar for its beautiful lake and Leh for its majestic, snow-capped mountains. Reason common to these 3 places are less or almost not dusty (I am allergic to dust hehehe) Cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata are chaotic, a bit untidy and noisy.

Many of these countries are not safe unless you remain within the walls of a resort. The Caribbean islands mentioned would be a bad choice for the LGBTQ community. I have friends from some of these islands and they left because their lives were in danger.
Do it right and the UK is cheaper than most people think. Avoid the big city centres and rents are not that terrible. I'm retired on a Pension income of about £2200 per month. Out of that I manage to pay £300 per month into a trust fund to see my great grand-daughter through Uni in about 15 years time without any Student debt. This is money I don't really need. If I can do it so can you, assuming you can get the essential permits and visas.

I've been to Belize on vacation. The crime rate is really high (thus a lot of walled ex-pat homes which also employ guards). The chances of getting mugged, if wandering around by yourself in an urban area, is almost certain. It's as hot and humid as living in hell.
