Bought a used 2022 Tucson Hybrid (Blue trim) with 15,000 miles on it. Nearly a month in and I couldn't be happier. Getting between 38 and 39 mpg on my 33-mile round-trip commute. Eleven days into my first full tank and I'm just halfway down. Coming from a 2013 Mazda CX-5 and its notoriously underpowered 155/150 engine, the 226/258 in this Tucson is a revelation.

We just purchased the 2022 Tucson AWD Limited 3 weeks ago and love everything about it. As far as saying the engine is underpowered, I don't see that as all. I have no issue merging on a highway or passing cars at all. I it the gas the the car takes off. It won't win any drag races, but it has plenty of power to do what you need it to do. We would have liked to get the hybrid model, but there are none to be found.

My wife has owned a 2022 Hybrid Limited about a week. So far it isn't living up to 38 mpg but think it will once broken in and we stop sitting in it idling trying to figure out all the features. I have a whole day setting up all the blue link, radio, android and multiple options for about every feature it has which are more than any car we've had. In fact I only know of a top line Cadillac or Denali that has one more option than this with power folding mirrors. So far my only disappointments are lack of a storage tray in the console which was found on Amazon for penny's, no spare tire and the shifter buttons only because I rest my arm right on them a lot and my wife would have preferred the headrest to be a little further back. Oddly, the tail lights do not blink when indicators are on but we only noticed that by watching another review. No tail pipe is kind of cool given its a hybrid. Cooled programmable seats and all the safety/convenience features well outweigh the couple of drawbacks. It is very comfortable and impressively smooth. In the first couple hundred miles we have both noticed we were going faster than we intended on several occasions so its no slouch. This car will drive itself with the lane holding option. Our dealer marked it up 3k which was almost a deal breaker for me, by my wife wanted it, and loves it, so here we are.

The 2022 Tuscon is definitely on our short list to replace our recently sold 2017 Ford Escape. Unfortunately, COVID and the related chip shortage is affected delivery of the 22 models (particularly the AWD ones) so we're just in a waiting mode at this time.

@@nj-1008 thats a crazy markup. but its not just hyundai thats doing it. its all across the board. and it depends on the dealer. the chip shortage is a real thing. the amount of production on cars is incredibly down.
i was lucky and my dealer didnt do a markup. but now is not the time to buy cars in general. You're lucky that your mazda dealer didnt. stick with that dealer.
(keep in mind this is all the dealers decision and has little or nothing to do with the manufacturers).
This is really the WORST time to buy a car, and if you can avoid to, its definitely time to wait. (I unfortunately had to).

@@mirtos39 I only got a $1,600 above window sticker MSRP mark-up on my 2022 Tucson SEL, but had no choice, my 2019 Camry lease was up and Toyota wanted $150 more a month plus tax and wear and tear package for the same car which I didn't want because I wanted an SUV and had serious problems with the Camry for the last 3 months, hated the Rav4 and knew they wouldn't deal on the Highlander, Ford said they could get $5-$7k above sticker for the Escape and Edge and more then $8k above sticker for the Explorer (which was the best vehicle I ever had, hands down). Lexus is actually one of the only car companies trying to deal but they are still too expensive for me, but they are the best cars on the road. My mom just passed away suddenly at 73, a few months ago and left me her house and a good sum of money, dad died just before Covid hit us. I could have tried to deal with Ford or Lincoln cause I have the money to get what I want, but doesn't mean I should waste it, when I have a ton of expenses now and have to make the money last a long time. Fortunately, my cousin and sister are taking care of that and my cousin got me the deal and I knew Hyundais are reliable, well-made and safe cars with great standard maintenance and warranty plans. I have a few issues with the car and definitely should have chosen the hybrid, but overall its a good SUV and really beautiful looking. The gas milage is terrible. If it doesn't improve in the next 5-7 fill-ups and/or 1,000 miles, when it should be broken in, I will take it back. My dumb ass ex and her dumb ass husband just paid $11,000 over sticker to lease a Tesla Y for $78,000 with a 6 month wait, $800 a month with tax included but no extra milage or wear and tear plan and $6,000 down. They have had the car, not SUV like they pretend it is, for less than 7 months and already have issues with the old stick, steering wheel gear shift. For a $80k car, that's pathetic and actually a disgrace but then again, so are they teehehe. Don't even bother with Tesla, they are awful. Over the past 3 years, I have known 5 people who have leased or purchased Teslas. Two who have the S-model, one with the 3, one with the X and one with the Y. Only two have their Teslas still. Two traded in their leases to Lexus almost a year early because of the battery and touchscreen problems, one sold theirs after the autonomous driving system failed twice and left him stalled on the freeway once and hit a parked car the other time. He has an Infiniti now and will never buy another Tesla again and lost 70% of the value for his trade-in but was so happy to get rid of it he didn't care. One, of course is my ex with the Y, and the other is my cousin with the X, who's I drove after I got my Tucson and it drives well is comfortable and nice and jumps when you punch it and has an instrument gauge cluster and touchscreen, unlike the stupid Y that has none, just everything on the touchscreen which is dangerous and if it fails, the car is useless. He said he likes it but would never lease another because its a nightmare to take on a road trip even 250-300 miles. You have to charge it several times, find a charger station and its a real pain in the ass and can't be taken feasibly on 350+ mile trips. He also has a Lexus sport hybrid and a Ford Flex so he is fine when the X goes.

I purchased a brand new 2022 Tucson Essential AWD in July of 2021. Things I don’t like about it are things that you don’t experience until you have driven it for a while. I am not a fan of the electric steering as you seem to be constantly correcting as the vehicle appears to wander,it is much different to a mechanically connected power steering systemThe cover on the storage bin between the seats does not open to a perpendicular or beyond,so you cannot access the contents of the bin with your right hand while sitting in the drivers seat. The exterior mirrors do not have an electrical de icing feature, that should be a standard feature on any vehicle sold in Canada and not require the purchaser having to go to a more expensive model. Last but not the least,Hyundai does not support Sirius Radio, that is basically all I listen to in my F150.
The 2.5L 4 cyl is definitely not underpowered, pedal to the metal when passing will get you up to 140/150 km/hr in a hurry.
Other than what I find fault with the 2022 Tucson,it is a pretty decent vehicle.

Not a good time to buy! Dealers are adding $1000 to $5000 markup above MSRP. Plus the availability of a hybrid limited version can not be found. Most dealers I’ve been to only have 1 to 4 base or SEL models. Perhaps the ‘chip’ issue is holding back their production & maybe they released the ‘22 models too soon. It’s frustrating...but I’ll have to wait or forget about buying a Tucson & look for something else.

,@@lmiller2738 I drove only high-end(platinum vs limited) trim of both the vehicles. Tucson's infotainment looks more modern than Nissan Rogue. No doubt. If you compare in terms of Technology alone then Tucson is better than Rogue. They tried something like Tesla. I feel it is poor man's Tesla(Tesla's infotainment looks 100 times better). Tucson's infotainment looks like my 80's Casio watch. They could have given a full screen with touch(like Tesla) instead of half screen and half black keys. I hated the piano black and touch button. I didn't like the position of the display. It is a lot lower than Rogue. Also, Apple car play is wired(limited) wherein Rogue is wireless. Actually, after seeing all the online photos I liked the infotainment of Tucson a lot better than Rogue. But in reality, it didn't look as good as photos. Online photos are heavily edited. They both won't give a good driving experience but at least Rogue gives more mileage. Tucson's mileage compares with Mazda CX5. But Mazda is a lot fast and it has a very good driving experience than both Rogue and Tucson.
