I liked the video since it and #9 showed me what the trail looked like on both sides of the foot bridge at 2:45. Due to the heavy winter snow pack of 2018/19, the bridge was destroyed. I spent a week in August 2019 working with a crew of CTF volunteers and a team of USFS personnel to completely rebuild it at a higher elevation at the base of the falls. You can see what we accomplished in a video I posted on my RUclips channel if you're interested.
Looks like there are a lot of great bridges and camp spots on the CT. Do you remember if you had to ford any bodies of water? Also, would you say that the data book is what you used the most for navigation, elevation profile, water, camping and points of interest? One last question, would you say the trail is well marked? I notice in your videos there seem to be a good bit of markers. Thanks for the info :)
Hello Madalyn, I remember only fording 1 creek and it was Texas Creek. Yes the guide book is all you need, there a ton of great info in there and is all i used and yes the trail is really well marked, and usually notice it very soon if your going the wrong way. If you have any more questions I'd be glad to help. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Lance, I used the Katadyn Vario it was pretty heavy and would never use it again for a thru hike, (Awsome Filter Thou) I bought the Sawyer Original, I will be hiking the PCT this year and will be dropping close to 20-25 pounds, I will do a gear video before i start the PCT.
Thanks Cornelius! .....I've since purchased a Sawyer Mini....I'll be hiking today. Maybe I'll test it in our local water here in sunny San Diego! The PCT, freakin' awesome dude!

Another great series! What water filter are you using? How heavy is it? Thoughts about some of your gear?
Thanks, lance
