Robert Earl...Robert Earl! Saw you in a listening bar down in Houston back in '89. Cousin Bobby took me to see ya and we got a table right next to the little stage. What an intimate venue it was! Been a fan ever since! Yer a great story teller, Robert Earl!
My son and I were fortunate enough to spend a couple minutes with REK after his Hill Country Youth Orchestras yearly benefit earlier this year. For me, it was the first time in 20 yrs or so. Even with a couple of world renown new musicians, it was amazing how they sounded on the older tunes. Time passes though, and my message to you is, get out and see this Texas Legend soon, bc like me, he's getting long in the tooth.
Free Love at the Joe T. Floores store. The REK Live Album II. Yours truly. Me, Kirk Smith, Pat Green, Jayson Bales, Jeff Johnson... I've forgotten who all was at that show but by far one of the most memorable shows, along with one of Pat Green's show down in Del Rio.
I remember in the paper a long time ago that Ray Price got busted for marijuana possession. I want to say he was 72 at the time. I wonder if he turned Willie onto it or the other way around.

Perhaps the greatest story ever told in the annals of country music.

Myself and several friends saw REK and Billy Joe Shaver play the Corona Club in Acuna. Great time!
You are very fortunate + love them both
There is NOBODY that could have done, what Mr. Price did for that song! It is a perfect song, but it is PHENOMENAL with that addition!

Usually I back the blue but whoever was the degenerate who didn't cut Ray some slack deserves to be shamed
REK is a fan of the border writer Charles Bowden
Is there a recording of this with Ray Price?
Dammit hand! REK didn't look that old 20 years ago. What the hell is happening?
Still conning...
