- This is the craziest sounding Corvette I've EVER HEARD! Today we drive StreetSpeed717's incredible C7 Corvette ZR1 pushing nearly 1000HP. It checks all the boxes. It's rowdy. It's menacing. It's fast. You name it this car does it. The Corvette ZR1 from the factory was one of the wildest factory American cars ever built and Mike from StreetSpeed717 decided to turn it all the way up. I graduated high school in 1996. We thought we had fast cars back then with our Z28s and our 5.0s doing 13 second quarter mile times. A buddy had a tubbed Nova drag car that ran in the mid 10s and we all thought it was the fastest car we would ever see. Now we have street cars with 1,000 rear wheel horsepower that you can drive to church. Freaking crazy.

It's soo nice to get a look at Mike's car from someone else's perspective... On Mike's channel it's just kind of normal, but seeing David's reactions really shows what that machine is all about.

I would say the definition of “better” can be subjective as well because the reason I prefer the C5, C6 and C7 over the C8 is because you really have to be a good driver to go fast in them and it makes you become a better driver because you learn how to control it. Where the C8 is more of a car where you are good at driving it right out of the box (not that appealing to me and my style).

In looks alone, I actually like the C7 over the C8.
The C8 looks clunky in a number of ways. Hopefully they get that smoothed out in the coming years.
in context, the c7 zr1 looks better than the c8 stingray. however c8 stingray definitely looks better than the c7 stingray

Not as crazy as that ZR1 is. Bottom end on the C8 isn’t forged like the ZR1 is. Plus they’re already having issues with the duel clutch holding horsepower. Can’t remember where I seen it. But someone on RUclips has put small wet shot of nitrous on a C8 and he was having transmission problems because of it. Guess time will tell where the weak points are in the C8 and like all the corvettes before it the aftermarket will address weaknesses. The GT500 transmission seams to be holding up pretty well to big horsepower.
@@markball7028 Oh but a modified C8 Stingray will outperform any C7 once tuning becomes available because the engine is in the back. It won't even be close. This coming from a C7 owner. The LT2 just needs a forged bottom end and it's only a matter of time before the aftermarket released stronger clutch packs.
You know you enjoy car videos when are subscribed to ThatDudeInBlue, StangMode, and SuperStreet717 and see cross over videos of all three. I'm still awestruck by the fleet of vehicles Mike has. Definitely a dream type of garage.

I actually got to see a c8, in person, yesterday. For the first time in my life, at first glance, I didn’t realize it was a vette. I really thought it was a pasta rocket for a split second.
I love all corvettes and the c7 in this vid is nasty, but the new c8 brought back those feelings I had as a kid when I looked at the Lamborghini Countach poster I had on my bedroom wall.
