- Time for some boosted C8 action! Thanks to Streetspeed717 I had the opportunity to drive one of the first twin turbo Corvette C8's in the country! With the new mid engine setup along with the incredible sound it is no wonder why the C8 has taken the automotive world by storm. So what's it like driving the C8 with twin turbos? I wouldn't turn up the boost until someone makes clutches for them. Emelia Hartford's c8 corvette clutches were slipping with a little over 800 crank torque.
Karl Hopkins Mike doesn’t want more then 700 whp he has the 1000hp for the zr1 that’s like a clock now he wants the z06 for the higher power more fun c8

@@jp81platow Yeah he is reviewing Mike's C7 ZR1, C8, Urus, and the Gallardo from what I remember them saying on Mike's channel. He filmed them all in a day or two so they are just in the edit and release pipeline. But I think the C8 video might have been bumped up ahead of some other videos David already had scheduled to release.
Danny Hampton just the c8 and the zr1 cuz both of those are modded the urus is stock and the gallardo he just wanted David to drive not even review cuz it’s an older gallardo it’s not gonna pull views like a 1000hp zr1 that’s fully built and no one has

Biggest jump for corvette since the C4 to C5 gen. Game changing.
And the funny part this is just the base model. the r35 has just been around for too long, we have had 3 generations of Corvette since the r35 and it had been around almost as long as the r34,r33, and r32 combined

Been waiting on this one since the announcement on his video. It will be interesting to see/hear your take on this build. Not many get to drive Mike's vehicles in the first place. Congrats 🍻

Yeah i agree. I definitely prefer the C7 over the C8 in general. I love the C8, but i don't like how it looks. The front looks good on the C8 but i HATE the rear end of the C8

Azaan PD , someone needs to come out with a sexy tail light like a mclaren or bmw light bar in a unique shape for the vette. I hate the rear as it stands right now.
Or get a c6 Z06 for like 30,000 and have a big ass 7.0 LS 505hp ultimate BANG FOR BUCK RACE CAR

Shes got the most advanced traction control corvette could jam into her. Everything about her screams track car. She's designed to launch comfortably like a bat outta hell. Shes got that cool gear queueing feature on her shifters too.

Incredible how good this chassis is proving to be. And that turbo kit was beyond clean and potent. Video editing fit the style and you squeezed in just enough teasers for the zr1!!
another youtuber did this and also changed the headers & exhaust. The headers alone made it go from sounding like a generic american pushrod to a high pitch italian v8. Sounds like this corvette got the same love.

Excellent video as always. Definitely like the go-pro cam shots in the engine bay and the exhaust but you really need to have at least 2-3 drive by shots where you set up a tripod. Probably the only thing missing in your review videos.

Cant really happen because the transmission couldn’t fit. The axle placement would not align.

@@RBZ06LT6 iirc the GT500 has the same transmission tuned slightly different in the same FR setup as the C7, however my whole point was really just mating ANY DCT to the C7 ZR1 just to see it at it's absolute limit. Cheers man!

I couldn't agree more David, Corvette had done all they could with a front engine, so this mid engine was definitely the way forward.It's very tame at the moment, but i'm sure we'll see some "untamed" models coming out in the near future...
Within the first week of these being delivered to people, they started getting twin turboed. Reminds me of the MkV Supra and how widebodys and exhausts came out for them in the first week.
The C8 with the C7 ZR1 wheels looks sick!
I liked the video alot but............surprisingly we didn't get to hear much about the power numbers of this car or the actual turbo specs, suspension if any, tire size, wheels and which of the two are quicker over all. Both vettes super nice and that color is the bomb.
The brake by wire is a performance enhancing feature that, yes, is weird but will drastically increase the track capabilities of the car
that is the best color in the new vets.i really like alot.
Great video David! I agree with you about the direction GM has taken with the C8. The car looks great and Mike's car sounds awesome. I was surprised the C8 has brake-by-wire. It got me thinking because the Giulia also has it. Is this the direction car manufacturers are going to go with the brakes? Or is it just Chevy and Alfa Romeo just trying something different?
Very nice review of the C8 Corvette specially Mike 2020 Twin Turbo C8 Corvette to my opinion this T.T. kit not only looks amazing but works really good remember they haven't open the factory ECU and there only making like 5 ponds of boost and still made 660 HP so the potential when they can tune it is going to be crazy and one more thing LMR the inventor of mikes Twin Turbo kit did a amazing job even doe they work around the factory ECU I got to give a Big tums UP TDIB Street Speed 717 and LMR which are the reviewer owner and mechanic of this amazing 2020 C8 Corvette.
Have to say, the round exhaust-tips and aero parts really make it a better looking car!

When someone cracks the ecu and with forged pistons and rods installed and you can tune it and up the boost that car is going to be seriously fast

You should do a review of Emelia Hartford's C8 when she gets the engine back and flywheel fixed. She is already taking the drive train beyond its limits and finding the weak spots. So far, The connecting rods and weirdly the Flywheel as well as possibly the clutch packs in the transmission but Meh, you won't know until you drive it like you stole it. LOL (EDIT) Forgot about the Half Shafts replacements too. On top of that she has a pro meth direct port injection intake manifold on the way on as well. Turns out over 800 Hp/Tq is a bit too much for the poor thing.
Don't forget the axles lol

@@clutchkickpj693 It's getting a built motor which will be good for 1200whp, almost double what Mike's makes.

@@karlhopkins713 the car is weak point right now seems to be the transmission at 800 hp so it really doesn't matter how much the motor makes if everything else around it is going to break she's already passed the limit of the car without spending serious money and at that point you could just buy something faster that won't break

People hate on mike alot, especially more "hardcore" guys but honestly who cares. His car are cool he obviously has a great buisness model figured out and just over all seems like a cool ass dude. Who cares if he doesnt build it himself. People are just jealous.
Never understood the hate he gets. He's never came across as a bad dude in my eyes. I watch his videos from time to time and they are good. The people who try to find the bad in others are usually the worst ones.

Unfortunately, most dealerships I've seen have been tacking on egregious surcharges, bumping base model prices to above $100k. I'd personally wait a year to pick them up on "discount" or second hand.

judging by the spool sound the turbo setup seems very factory comparable to mclarens etc. Impressive work.
