It is a great experience, although maybe not the fastest, or smoothest. The sound, styling, high speed handling and the lines more then make up for it.
I loved my 2004 Gallardo. One of the most fun cars I have owned to drive. My 360 felt like a heavily toned down version of the Gallardo. The Gallardo was raw and aggressive a ton of fun on a track. I think I even liked it more then my MK4 Toyota Supra's..... Wow I want one again now lol.
The first gen gallardo's by far the best looking. Love rear brick tail lights. Leaving age extremely well. Mark my words they will appreciate in time. I drove an 04 and I absolutely loved it, even though the transmission was clunky.
As somebody that grew up with the Pre-LP Gallardos, I prefer them to the later ones. The LP Gallardos ruined the design to try and make it look more modern. I don't mind the single-clutch automated transmissions either, their harder shifts feel more deliberate and raw, as opposed to the synthetic video game feel of modern DCT's where there's no drama at all. I don't want an exotic car to be easy or pleasant to drive, I want it to be obnoxious, uncomfortable, and unrefined, kinda like a racecar.
I've got an 08 Superleggera and it doesn't seem to have aged horribly IMO, with the carbon fiber and Alcantara interior mine seems to have held up well. And the 5.0 V-10 with my decatted factory Superleggera exhaust sounds pretty good. I rarely go anywhere without someone complimenting it and best of all I'm not eating 30K in depreciation every year like a new Huracan and it's a relatively simple car to work on when needed.
I definitely perfer the first gen gallardo, I like the look of the front better on the old one, the back I can go with either generation of gallardo, but the sound is what sets the 1st gen apart
Personally I think the pre-LP Gallardo is under-refined, and the Huracan is over-refined. The perfect balance of a raw driving experience in a "baby Lambo" is the LP Gallardo.
I honestly don't understand why people don't like this body style. I actually prefer it over the LP. If I could take 2 things from the LP and bring it to the pre-LP, it would be that wing and also taillights. Not the housing, but the lights within. I can understand the trans complaint. But I love the way they look.
As a pre-LP owner, I also want to say 5.0 sounds better (especially with LOC exhaust) and you would have much better chance at finding a gated shifter, the proper shifter for super cars.

The steering was really heavy and fought you especially coming out of corners in comparison (expected of a awd car with a bit of power). It had terrible throttle response for the first 2 laps while popping and sputtering when hitting the gas at low rpms and It’s pretty much what I expected for a baseline vert Gallardo, at first. Once it warmed up and was feeling happy though, it took off like a bat out of hell in the straights and became a totally different car. It was a car that’s had a rough life so I wasn’t too hard on it’s engine condition and it should be expected of any car with a racing life. All and all, in terms of straight line speed (and sound) I had the most fun in the Lambo. In cornering though, the F430 took the cake and still was no slouch when it came to straight line speed and it would have been a good race between the two of them. I got a pre LP Spyder E-Gear. I certainly have a love/hate relationship with the car. Looking back, would’ve bout the gated manual. But every time I walk into the garage it puts a smile on my face. You can say whatever you want but personally don’t like the newer V12 Lamborghinis, the Diablo is in my opinion the last good looking V12 Lamborghini. I have always adored the V10 Lamborghinis, i like the more “conservative, more mature look” of the Gallardo over the Murcielago. I absolutely hate the look of Aventador but I really like the look of the Huracan (even before I found out it was a V10 Lambo). I have absolutely no driving experience when it comes to Lamborghinis, but i strongly suspect that the Gallardo and Huracan are way better drivers cars than the V12 Mercielago and Aventador.

I love the front of the pre-LP, but that LP rear is to die for
yea the rear lights on the LP really clean it up
First gen Gallardo are my favorite Lamborghini models of all time with the awesome roaring 5.0 liter v10
sure but its a semi-retro supercar that looks stunning and sounds fantastic, it has the fizz and thats enough
Even though it has aged, still one of my favourite cars of all time.
Great vid.. streetspeed is killing it
The Gallardo was always the anti Lambo... But maybe, just maybe it's a hidden secret
Hope you had a good time in PA!
I love this theme of driving Non modified cars! Good to see how they compare as they came to the factory!
I think we were supposed to be best friends lol. The diablo and huracan are my favorite lambos.
@@Bhicken_Nugget my top 5 favorite lambos are.
1. Huracan
2. Gallardo
3. Countach
4. Diablo
5. Mura
I just go right back to Viva La Bam days on MTV back in the day when I see a Gallardo. Every Gallardo needs a sawzall moonroof lol
