  • There is nothing more important than the health of you and your loved ones. IT IS THE FOUNDATION FOR A QUALITY LIFE SPAN.
Making excuses, adjusting your life to support an issue that you don't want to deal with, or not prioritizing your health is only going to make it worse.
If you have any of the symptoms get on it immediately.
    1) urinary frequency-urination eight or more times a day.
    2) urinary urgency-the inability to delay urination.
    3) trouble starting a urine stream.
    4) a weak or interrupted urine stream.
    5) dribbling at the end of urination.
    6) nocturia-frequent urination during periods of sleep.

Hello Toni, I am 65, for ten years I asked different doctors to check my prostate to make sure my health was truely good, they all said my blood tests were fine and not to worry. I asked them to do a finger test and they assuered me that was not necessary, a blood test alone is good enough. They were all wrong, when I finally found a doctor who listened to me and sent me to see a Urologist, they informed me that my prostate was three times the normal size and I needed surgery immediately. Thankfully I had a good Urologist who did my surgery and saved my life. I wish I would have been diognosed years ago with a prostate problem. Please keep sharing your story, it saves peoples lives!

Hi Stephen, I'm so happy to read that you didn't give up and found a doctor that listened to you.
What makes me sad is your journey is the same story I've heard so many times before from so many men. Your doctor should have taken the proper steps, especially as you were of the age to be concerned about prostate issues and you asked!
Prostate and colon cancer are the second largest killer of men and doctors need to take a proactive approach not reactive and men need to keep pushing for better from their doctors.
Thank you for sharing.....it keeps me inspired. I'm gonna keep pushing.
      Cheers Tony

I just watched this video. I commented on another of your vids as well. Thanks for all the information. I had/having same issues. It became very difficult to do anything without having to think about related urination struggle. Up many times in the night or getting to urinal and not going. Also, I used to enjoy a few beers with my friends but beer goes right through me so at a party I would drink, then constantly go in bathroom but only go a little. My friends noticed the routine and actually commented. I'm here now with a catheter after an emergency room visit because I could not go at all for hours. It was very scary. I have a urologist appt next week so I'm learning for now how to manage this catheter. Your videos are very helpful and straightforward. I am very scared and cant eat. I'm just nervous now. I was stupid. I get my physical each year, my scheduled preventative colonoscopies etc, but I neglected this prostate issue. I'm hoping the flomax they put me on will help once the catheter is out but as I said, now I am very nervous. Good luck to everyone.

Listen JT, I'm gonna tell you straight up.....it makes no sense thinking that you're stupid. It's in the past and a waste of time to blame yourself. It happened and it's really best to put your energy into getting better. Getting your head in the game. I'm telling you this because I've been there doing the woulda, coulda, shoulda.....it just depressed me. There is going to be a lot of information given to you and you need to be focussed as best you can so you can make proper decisions. It's a lot to process and digest. I suggest taking notes or if possible taking someone with you to the appointment. As for medication activation....it really depends on so many things for it to have the desired effect you are seeking, including more time might be needed. I did several medications myself and if you've seen my videos.....well you know the outcome.

I am the same story..good advice, I wouldn't want to wish this on anyone on the planet. When I woke up that day, could not urinate what's still thinking I would by the time I got to the hospital in agony I had two liters of urine removed.. now after a second visit to an emergency room this time for severe pain. I'm waiting from my urologist appointment as I I have an infection I throb every time I urinate... If only I would have seen your video or realize the warning signs were serious. Thanks I'm going to subscribe and watch more of your videos to see what I have to look forward to.

Hi, I want to let you know that since I started the channel, the majority of men who comment are like you and me......we ignored the symptoms, so don't feel bad about that....it's in the past.
The goal now is to get back to great health (peeing if I'm being blunt) and it seems like you have the resources and access to help do that.
If you'd like I'm happy to answer any questions you have have based on my own experience. It all can be a bit overwhelming as you move forward. I've spoken to tons of guys from around the world and it helps. You can email me at Tony.Alcindor@Maletenance.com

I had enlarged prostate. My IPSS score was 25 (bad symptoms with poor quality of life). In May 2022 I had an aquablation to remove excess. Huge difference. My IPSS is now 4. Back to normal.
However, I now have stage 3 chronic kidney disease. The reason is I waited too long to get the surgery. For a couple of months my bladder was not emptying fully. I did not realize this was a danger but more important none of my doctors warned me of the danger. Before surgery my blood test showed dangerously high creatinine level so doctor told me to go to ER and get catheter in to empty bladder. The catheter worked, my bladder emptied and my creatinine level came down but the damage was done.
If you have an enlarged prostate that is making it hard to pee you need to tell your doctor/urologist. He can check to see if your bladder is emptying.
I highly recommend aquablation for fixing enlarged prostate.

I'm sorry that you had to go through so much. Thank you for sharing journey and the tip regarding aquablation. So many people come here looking for information and read the comments.....I certainly don't have all the answers by a long short but now at least people are talking and sharing. I know your comment will help others be more informed.

I had A Fib about a month ago, and when I went to the E/R, then the hospital, I couldn't urinate due to a enlarged prostrate. When it was removed a little over a week later, I could weakly urinate, however within a day and a half, it was a no go, and I was the not so proud owner of a new catheter. Kept it in for about 28 days, had it removed, tried going without one, but within about 3 hours, had to have another installed, as I couldn't go. TURP surgery in my future. Can you do a video about after all your time on one, how it was getting back to urinating without one in. Any problems with bladder control, wear adult diapers, etc. Thank you!

Hi, your journey sounds so much like mine and many others who have commented. I remember being so hopeful that I would be able to urinate on my own after having the catheter in only to be disappointed which led to my surgery. It's tough. I did a bunch of videos about life post-prostatectomy including - how soon after can you exercise, ejaculations, etc. I'm actually almost ready to post one about diapers and retraining your bladder but I'm working on a partnership before I post it. If you'd like to know before I post it I'd be happy to share what I can on the topic if it'll help you. Just email me at Tony.alcindor@Maletenance.com and we can figure out a time to talk. I've spoken to a ton of guys and it really helps ease the anxiety and provides first-hand information.
      Cheers Tony

We just thought our family member was getting an enlarged prostate. Bought some saw palmetto and other products for the prostate. Had almost all those same symptoms you did. It ended up being cancer. Prostate removal.
So often we get caught up in the run run run lifestyle.... until our bodies say: remember me. lol

LOL! Too true! People pay so much attention to everything else, and don't realize that if the bod is not functioning, you can't do anything else.

Nooo don't do what I did. It can end up really bad (have you seen my prostatectomy video and I didn't even have cancer)
You're not alone though - it seems the more people I speak with and read comments, you're all doing the same thing. You gotta take initiative and stop with the excuses. Trust me it got way worse than I ever wanted. You gotta go get checked if you haven't already.
