Although my fixes are not permanent, at least I know where my leaks were coming from. Took forever and a lot of patience, but I feel better knowing where to look in the future.
No one will deny you did everything possible to keep the interior dry. I hope in your travels you found that all is well. I see two more videos on my notifications. Time to get some popcorn and watch the informational and entertaining videos. :)
All 3 videos are on the same subject :)
Thought it would be better to just let them run all at once instead of talking about the same thing, in different ways, over the course of a few days.
I decided to make a how to, and also a tip video in addition to my VLOG so people who search can just see those without all the other stuff lol
@@simpleoverlander It worked well. I enjoyed them being together. People can choose when they watch them in this format.
Water leakage in the rear in my case came from the bolts of boot door hinges. Ride without liner and you see it
I think Kitty approves!
Nice rig!!!
Be glad it was that and not a bad heater core. It's a gigantic PITA to replace it.
I already did the heater core last year. Not enjoyable. I will probably be doing that again on my other Jeep...and my friend wants help with his haha
Nice jeep. Mine leaks just like most of them out there. Hope you helped me figure it out
You and i seem to be dealing with exactly the same kinds of water leaks haha. I also had to bend my rear doors because Chrysler doesn't know how to make doors that seal. That gap on the lift gate can be fixed with a pry bar. Just lift the seal lip a little higher up and it'll make contact with the lift gate. :)
Thanks for that info! Seems easy enough to fix the rear gap. I will do that here shortly.
You did not show how you fixed your rear seal could you explain your process ?
That is where mine is leaking (blower motor).
How has this blower motor seal “leak repair” held up? I have the same issue but I have a roll cage so looking for seats solutions
So, aside from you making a mistake and cutting too far to the passenger side and cutting out that drip pan....what would the harm be if you didn't replace that part you cut out for access? It is under the cowl, and water gets in that area anyways.
nice video - an perfect overlanding rig - I'm far away from this, will
keep my XJ a simple as possible for all kind of purposes ! These leaking
spots are very useful to know. I most recently I need to clean up the drain holes of my fresh air intake vent - what is the easiest way to get there ? Thanks !
theres vent holes in the cubby?? whaaaat... so thats why my xj gets coated in dust, with rusted quarters.... i found a small water leak on the top of the hatch weather stripping, it only happened in heavy rain. i tried the hose method and i could never get it to leak
Thank You! Question? What kind of RTV do you use?
Just drill a small hole so the water wont pond :)
Success!
