  • Get A Cheap i7 (QH8G, QHQG, QHQJ) Here - though seriously do your research before hand: s.click.aliexpr...
    When an awesome subscriber informed me about these cpus that can be purchased on aliexpress.com and used for a wicked cheap Gaming PC, I figured I would give it a shot and get into the land of tinkering, and low behold I found an awesome CPU that boasts amazing value for someone on an extreme budget and has the patience and time to learn how to get this CPU working.
    Or of course if you want to just get the i7-7700k, then you can get that here: amzn.to/2kEmwwO

      Star-Lord but it is a hassle to get compatible ones that actually works. + that overclocks are different on every cpu. you could get unlucky with the overclock and have even lesser performance.
      i have to say though, if you have the time to research it a bit it should be worth it

      Well yes, but back in the day it was decent value. I've seen your video on your topic but I still think that if u get a CPU like this QH8G for less than 35$ it's worth it if you're stuck on a compatible Asrock Z170 board. Of course, someone building something new from scratch should go Ryzen all the way.

    • @sudoku6177
      @sudoku6177 7 лет назад +1

      depends on the motherboard and cooler baseclock overclocking gets a crap ton of heat and Ive done alot of research it has a 550cb on cinebench without overclocking. most of these can't get over 4ghz which has a 850cb on cinebench. unless you already have a very good cooler and motherboard I would do more research before pulling the trigger.

    • @stickmennoeller
      @stickmennoeller 7 лет назад +15

      Captinprocat CPUs don't degrade at all (or only very very marginally) except if you put ridiculous voltages through it like 1.6+ volts. It's the motherboard that you should be worried about, as those can give out after years of use.

    • @trainraider8
      @trainraider8 7 лет назад +2

      I can definitely vouch for those old Sandy Bridge processors. I made $350 pc with a $60 i5 2310 and a 1050 ti and I can max out most games and usually expect over 60 fps or close to it. If this ol' i5 can do the trick that i7 would cut through modern games like butter. I mean just look at the consoles still using 32 nm AMD crap! 6 year old intel stuff is actually fantastic comparably.

    • @stickmennoeller
      @stickmennoeller 7 лет назад +5

      Robert Rapier I mean, "that amd crap" is actually getting revived by directx 12 and vulkan. I'm running an fx 8320 and while single core games run meh, games that can use more cores actually run great (for example the division, watch dogs 2, and doom of course) and it can keep up with the i5 4690K, which costs around 100€ more.

    One of my PC is based on the Gigabyte GA-H110M-H. I used this happily for years. I just updated the i5 CPU to a i7-6700K. Going into the BIOS I noticed a new menu item: CPU Upgrade. This had a list of overclocking functions that also facilitated an 'automatic' RAM speed increase. I was chuffed to find that I could go all the way to 4.6Ghz on this 4Ghz CPU with the 2400Mhz RAM going up to 2666Mhz. It runs completely stable with the benchmarks going up by the expected amounts. I didn't think a H110 chipset was overclockable but here we are! BIOS version is F20.

    The thing about selling engineering samples is that.. It's not illegal anywhere to buy them. The engineers and testing companies themselves that receive them aren't supposed to sell them, and in some areas can be committing a crime or at the very least face a civil suit for breach of contract. But, there is no law, or punishment, anywhere that a consumer can face for purchasing them. :)

    Honestly, when benchmarking cpu's the best thing you can do is test them out in a gaming environment that maximizes the use of the cpu. Multiplayer games with high amounts of players and constant need of processing power.

    4:58 so the qhcg is a cpu that performs worse than an i7-4770k oc to 4.4Ghz (just looking at the score below the orange one). The 4770k is about 4 years old, and 4770k can be found on ebay for 120-150$. The main difference though is the 4770k works on countless motherboards/has no hardware disabled/is actually supported
    although it is cool you found an 'engineering sample' chip by a major manufacturer

    Hello, I am from China's DIY enthusiasts, I was surprised 6400t in the United States will be on the news.
    These are i7 ES DIE, divided into many batches, do not lock FSB, we probably started a year ago in China, fire in China for half a year, all the basic play are thoroughly understood, and later because of price prices slowly lost The heat.
    We developed a modified BIOS to be more simple and effective overclocking, you can over 1.2-1.25V overclocking to more than 4G, to maintain a lower heat, you can use a $ 15 simple air-cooled to suppress.
    6400t modified FSB will lead to the core graphics and L3 cache problems, we solved this problem.
    I personally played five 6400t, all my tune is very good, then I sold at high prices.
    But it was six months ago
    If you read very uncomfortable, please go to google translation, huh, huh

    Not unusual. I'm running an E3-1231v3 (LGA1150) currently and it maintains a similar fps ratio to that of a comparable i7. I'd honestly go for a Core over the Xeon if I was strictly focused on gaming, but I've got a pretty wide range of multiple operations that run for extended periods of time, and frankly - for the cash value, it just kicks ass.

    Hi, I bought mine QHQG in November for 107 GBP with some Asrock mobo and I don't need anything else, not even Ryzen. It beats everything for the money. It's been overclocked to 170MHz by BCLK and it's rock solid and even not that hot. 831 score in Cinebench. The latest Asrock bois 7.0 supports BCLK overclocking and it's more stable than 2.x. But since this stepping became so popular the prices went up so much.

  • @dra6o0n

    The question is, is Intel willing to make $100 i7 processors to sell with the intention of bleeding AMD where it hurts:
    AMD lacks a sub $100 CPU for their latest series, mainly because they still want to get rid of their old APU and FX stocks, so they are reducing the price of those older chips... But if Intel comes in with a $100 CPU that's 'new', it would easily sway the sub $100 buyers, and the sub $200 buyers who are looking for a high price-performance competition in the quad core department.

  • @MarkParkTech
    @MarkParkTech 7 лет назад +1

    The reason you can't buy them or sell them isn't about so much that they aren't available retail as it is that the people who receive these get them as loans from Intel and therefore they aren't actually their processors to sell in the first place. So in the end, what you have done is bought stolen property, as Intel still owns the CPU, and I'm pretty sure that is still illegal in Australia.

    • @spazzen
      @spazzen 6 лет назад

      Theft requires, at least in Australia, dishonesty. You could argue that he knew that engineering samples belonged to Intel so he fit the requirements of dishonesty. But a regular person just seeing a cheap processor, probably wouldn't be.
      Its like buying stolen goods, If you bought them out of the back of someones car there should have been alarm bells telling you it probably wasn't legal and you'd have to give the stuff back if caught. Bought them from a retail store and it turns out the store sold you stolen goods, that's not your problem it wasn't reasonable for you to think they were stolen so you didn't act dishonestly.

    Unfortunately there are some errors and misconceptions in this video.
    0:52 untrue on some samples like my QH8F (iGPU fully working @stock BCLK which although is rather useless anyways) which unlike 1:03 "rumored to not work on cosumer boards at all" worked on 3/3 of my Z170 boards, although my 1:45 "therefore bought" ASRock Z170M Extreme4 did not wanna overclock with any BIOS I found, my Gigabyte Z170 HD3 DDR3 works fully with a modified F5 BIOS found in some Google drive listed in a russian forum (got it to 3.8 GHz 1.48V with 1600 MHz Corsair DDR3 CL9-9-9-24 overclocked to 2375 MHz CL-10-12-12-31 @1.55V - resulting in almost the same power consuption as the 6700 it 's a prototype of - 130W in Prime95 1344k) and funnily enough the rumored bad support an ASUS boards (for me the Z170-E) turned out untrue as it oc'd and ran stable with stock BIOS and I got this board for 60€ new. I ultimately settled with the Gigabyte DDR3 board since DDR4 2800ish or higher MHz did not want to work with any of my two DDR4 boards, so I considered it a waste of money since DDR3 works just fine, although this board died, was repaired by the manufaturer through the retailer, got bricked by my efforts to flash back F5 BIOS with my i5 6400 since the F20 BIOS flashed removed Skylake ES microcode and detects an earlier BIOS version as "outdated" and artificially unflashable (which of corse is not listed in the changelog so I did not mind before RMA), the second RMA went unsuccessful since the retailer denied coverage because of the incorrect BIOS flash, I send it in at own cost to the manufaturer with the notice of flashing F5 BIOS, got F20 BIOS again, force flashed F5 again like before and instead of freezing during the process, I got my trusty russian F5 mod back. This setup is now going abroad to a pal with a broken motherboard (AM3) for his Phenom X4 840 and since it is ancient and limits his 1050 Ti, I hooked him up that way. One thing to remind however: stressing the RAM on A0 stepping, especially when overclocked results in repeatable crashes for me and is likely due to the infancy of this process. Also 5:05 lol

    if you're using an x58 board still, don't bother upgrading your board/chip to a newer gen UNLESS it's under $150 for both parts. otherwise grab an x5640 chip for your x58 board if you still have an i7 920 - x980 (make sure the xeon is compatible / bios etc). the performance is sooooo negligible for multicore processing (despite benches showing much improvements) you are literally gaining SECONDS not minutes with things like rendering. Games perform 5-10 frames faster when going from an old 920 to a 6700k. Upgrade that GPU instead.
