I really like you structured this video, breaking down each area of expenses, ranges, etc. thanks!
Very informative and nice video! I'm from Belize and haven't been there in years. Much more expensive than I remember. I live in the USA, but couldn't live there anymore. I would definitely 👍 visit one day. Beautiful places to visit and great 👍 food. Lots of changes over the years. Continue to enjoy and be safe. 🙏😍🙏 Thanks for sharing this video! I enjoyed watching.
Great info. Best explanation ever, much appreciated, please keep everyone updated....a weakly rundown is very necessary
EXCELLENT video!! Very informative and easy to understand. Thank you!!
Great info for retirement planning in Belize! The cost of living breakdown for 2022 is super helpful.
6 years in Placencia, use to scream at everyone to come here, now they do, and they stay with us. Feel sorry for those who didn't come years ago. Punta Gorda is still a good buy and has tremendous views of the sea. The people who know they are where they should be, you hear this a lot, buy quickly, we did in 3 days of seeing Placencia. You need around U. S. 200,000 for 2 people to start a life here , housing or rent are very high in Placencia, 20 miles out very low. Taxes on a $400,000 are around Us $100 a year. One hundred. No school tax no hidden anything. Boats are expensive and motors double US $. Food is still cheap and most is fresh. Bought 27 lbs of lobster for about US 6.00 a lb. Had a real nice party. Beer is good and is $30 us a case. Rum is the best you can buy anywhere, and far less than states. Figure US 300 $ for a day on the water, max price, gas is $6 us. Night life is always good, no crime of any sort for weeks on end, no Violent crime here, it is not tolerated, a criminal is almost always caught in 24 hours and week later sentenced and in prison. They don't play here.
Criminals are maybe cought within 24 hours but definitely don't go to jail right away or at all
First hand experience 😜🤣🤣🤣
About the crime , sorry to say that it isn’t true. Crime is very high in Belize ; the country with the highest rate of crime per capita. Am a Belizean and know that Belize had the highest crime rate in Central America and the world due to the amount of its population. Cost of living is high. lived there for 29 years.
Per capita is bullshit, lets be real we have crimes but its low compared to other countries 🥴
Can you still buy Cocaine at the ice cream shop???
Been there got robbed. In San Pedro
Very informative and knowledgeable about my country. 👏🤩👏
Thank you for this information very useful..
Was watching this and was just about to exit when I see my picture of the people on the ferry. Was kinda surprised
LFG Frankie we are here with you
thanks so much
Thanks, I really want to live in there... I have a English teacher who live in Belize, and she is very nice.
if i may ask whats her name ?
I know someone that is building a house in jamaica and they are paying USD $150/month. Mortgage being that cheap is amazing!.
The problem is the only way to buy land is to know someone because some lands dont go on the MLS of jamaica.
Thanks for the video
I'd love a video like this but specific to CC & Ambergris Caye. Ty❤❤❤
Ronin, hi, a typical power bill here in florida is 400 a month.
Even being a beach bum it looks inviting! I know they have aluminum oxide mining in Belize that’s were the majority of what they smelter down on this side of the hemisphere to make all of the aluminum from foil to the new air bus plane, ford mustang and f-150 , then the corvette frames , cans , refrigerator n a/c components, even lawnmower motors and decks . There’s a lot of aluminum for only 10% of it recycled in with the new. So Belize shows as a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry! Aluminum is the new metal to go to for strength, easy to cut bend and drill, and last but not least the main reason it’s very lightweight. So it looks like the economy will be good in this country for some time to come unless they run out of the aluminum oxide. Great video. It was very interesting and informative. I think if I did decide to move I would learn Spanish then figure a way to get a job at that mine . So I wouldn’t be a beach bum! Lol
Our blessed Hope.
Phone bills aren't really a must because most people use prepaid which i recommend if u don't use call or tx that often.
Thanks for the informative video. But this still sounds like it cost the same in America unless I lower my cost of living.
Moving there this year.
May I join you guys?
You could also get an electric car, that will also significantly reduce your travel costs.
Hey, if i would like to come live in belize. how i must make this ? What i must prepare ?
Cost of living is always higher than you think it is going to be
How much to live in Belize???? Everything you've got!!!!! Seriously been there and done that. Mr Rod says hello !!!
At 14:20 you mention providing skilled help for property sitting & management might provoke the local skills workers. It's illegal to "work" in Belize without a working permit, not sure if exchange of free rent for work would be welcomed or even legal.
Can one buy a house on the water in a good area for 3-600k USD? And is the skydiving business still operating ? It keeps telling me it’s permanently closed …..
Great video, thank you. I'm looking to be an expat by summer and I would be single, with more than twice the monthly income, which you said a couple could live well off of in the city, getting everything paid for. The best part is rice and beans is delicious and all the fresh seafood and chicken I can eat. After toiling away in hot kitchens all my adult life, I can't wait only cook for those I enjoy the company of and say goodbye to the general public. I speak English and spanglish and kitchen spanish fluently. It'll be great to farm and be a beach bum para todos los días!¡!¡!¡! I can't wait.
Nice content
All prices have gone up extensively in 2023. Increase all prices in this video by 30 to 60 percent. Gas is 7.50 USD a gallon now.
I assume that you can double these numbers now?
You can get fiber for around $30USD TO 150
Why so expensive? Mexico is right next door and is more affordable, including Mexican food and Walmart.
I really like to know more about accessing my retirement income from the United States and moving it to Brazil is there a citi Bank or any other US Bank that has branches there in Brazil ? How can I move money around ?
Could you make a cost of living on Bali Indonesia? 💚
On the list!
Why is everything in USD? Doesn't Belize have their own currency?
Hurricane insurance? Flood insurance? quanto costa?
Paradise, with the projects next door! Be careful
Have is the cime.
No thanks! I am not living anywhere I can't use AC to be comfortable at home. Seems too expensive to live here.
Where I like everything is way more expensive.
I would like to know more about becoming a "professional" house sitter. Do you have any references or information sites you recommend to learn more? Thank you!
WAY too expensive for me. I will continue to relax in the Philippines.
Could you give some resources on who to contact for short-term apartments? Going there soon.
Would a work permit be needed for house sitting?
Yes
its nor cheap for these things! wow
Hello 🙂
are there a website to find rental property in belize?
Google
Who wants to live in belize? Not me.
By law you must prove 2000 usd a month in income on your bank statements to immigration. Increase all prices in this video by 30 to 50 percent i. 2023. Gas is 7.50 USD a gallon and a lime is now 2 for 1 USD and rents are up extensively. Monthy electric if you run ac at night onky in an 800 sf house is 250 USD to 300 USD a month. This video is way outdated and the numbers are no longer valid.
i live in belize, these figures are kinda off......
The Belize relocation was exposed as a major scam a few years ago….
Are there any technology jobs in Belize? Having a difficult time understanding if these people even have such a thing there. I understand they have only 2 paved roads in the entire country but much like other parts of the world, everyone wants their iphones so I can only assume there must be some sort of infrastructure there.
My friend you are so wrong. I'm a borned belizean and i don't know where you got that information that there are only 2 paved roads in our country
@@joshuamoreno8731 I've watched just about every video posted and have yet to see a double lane road. Some of the main city streets aren't even paved so not sure what are you been smoking.
@@joshuamoreno8731 Joshua, and by the way, the reason i consider moving there is because of it. I want to get way from this cluster fuck madness here in the US. So you shouldn't need to defend anything. I hope Belize keeps it that way. It is a compliment.
@@NickSmith-hv9zi watching video and living here is 2 different thing. What am i smoking? Seems like you are on crack how in the world will we only have 2 paved roads when the last time i checked we have 4 major highways. Dont be a smart ass
@@joshuamoreno8731: Then why didn't you just say that at first?
Expensive!
Wtf having a car is so expensive and so is high speed Internet this actually may change my mind about relocating. For a low maintenance and rough looking island it’s so pricey.
not really
Lot of things you say and mention are not even accurate. Advice, do your research better and maybe you can get the info correct.
belize has muggy Caribbean weather, and expensive, south west coast of nicaragua is where I live. 2 bd custom on the beach, 20 min. from san juan del sur. private, security.. $600 bosque del mar
Isn't Nicaragua also humid in the San Juan area? And it has to be really hot in the summer, right?
I don’t believe we asked you
What about the guy who said we would need at least 200k US to even start a life there? Is that true?
@@foxadams8813 you can’t escape judgment it’s no WS government to protect you in Nicaragua you think Chicago is bad …
Placencia is extremely dangerous
Good day, anyone knows where I can find information on working in Belize as an RN please?
Try google
😵😵😵😵😵😵😵
how the hell can anyone from belize afford to live in belize with these prices lol
I live there the prices that they show make it sounld like much but when you work your wage is much more lol
he is showing way price and also 1 us dollar is 2 dollar bz
too expensive in belize. move on!
We lived in Belize on the island of Ambergris Caye, granted it was a few years ago but I don’t really agree with this video .
What did you disagree with? Could you be more specific?
Thanks!
Remember the. Badges? We don't need no stinking Badges!. . . Welcome to Belize
Whats up with the mask bro ?
Cost of living low - but violent crime such as sexual assault, home invasion, armed robberies and murder are common even during daylight hours and in tourist areas (due to rampant gang activity)
Most of the murders, robberies, home invasion and drug dealing are due to the gang activity in Belize City (they have the highest crime rate out all the other cities in Belize). However, when you get away from the City and to cities and villages like Belmopan Placencia, Caye Caulker, Ambergris Keyes, St. Ignacio and Santa Elena etc the murders, robberies, home invasions etc the crime activities are far less. Keep that in mind..
Thanks....so are leaving Belize or staying?
welcome to planet earth
Corozol is a terrible place
Smh. Nobody knows how to pronounce "plantain" correctly (plan-tin).
What is church and mission life like?
Way to many ice cream parlor missionaries
@@judybanman9764 typical. Extended vacations. Sad.
@@judybanman9764 I have giving in the American church and support several churches in Southern India. I know the pastors and people.

Lol
Way more than advertised. You moved there from Canada. But it can be cheap too. You Pat way more as a white person … white privilege lol ..
You give Apartment Rents... and the costs for maids and gardeners ?? WTF?? Those things do NOT go together, lol. Never met a person with an Apartment who had a gardener or maid.
The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is near. Repent and turn to him. God Bless!
And he is retiring in Placencia, Belize.
