This is such a neat invention! However, there are two ways you can make it better:
1) Make the holes on the sides much bigger so air can be sucked in all around the filter. The corners have blocked air flow. Utilize the 360-degree filter as much as possible.
2) Use a True HEPA filter instead of a car filter. True HEPA filters are rated to capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns in size which covers most indoor air pollutants like dust, mold spores, allergens, smoke, etc.
Finally, this DIY project is best for small personal use on a desk or private room. The power is not suitable for use in the average size room like a living room or bedroom. Regardless, it's a fun project to do! Thanks for sharing.

Hi can you let me how powerful fan it will need to cover a room of 300 sqft.
What about using a less flammable material for something connected to an outlet? It is way over designed for such a cheap material anyway. Then you could concentrate on making the filter replaceable by implementing a gasket design. Lastly, I would use the most powerful miniature fan possible for maximum efficiency. Other than that, great project!

Alternatively, you can use a Shop-Vac filter which is cheaper
That's what I did. I used a 'fine' filter for a 5 gallon shop vac and a 110 V case fan as it pulls a little harder.

It will filter out the dusts but not the microparticles
depends on the filter. I have bought xiaomi filter, worksthe same, but has worse m3/h and doesnt show the air level. But it works ;) tested

Purifica el haire osea atrapa todo tipo de polvo eso me queda claro en una pieza serrada sin ventilación con esa máquina está bien me ago una pregunta si estamos encerrado con esa máquina que limpia el haire pero que pasa con el monóxido de carbono que yo liberó al exhalar de eso no lo pude limpiar ya que el oxígeno se compone por las plata y las algas marinas y el agua. Eso no lo hacé la máquina solo está echo para limpiar el polvo de la habitación solamente es como ponerse una bolsa que pasa cuando ya no haiga oxígeno por qué Seva quemar cuando lo respiremos no pensaron en eso

What an Idea why not good for indoor use? What type of purifer do you need for indoor use? One that removes dust and hair ect?and does the one in the video not do just that??
@@hayman122 you need a much finer air filter, like the filters used for air-conditioning unit
this could be a small unit or a big unit, to solve pollution around the world, why don't we put a metal box with a fan at one end, a water mister in the middle, and after that screen, and the water that collects the dust and pollution in the air will be caught by that screen and ran through a water filter and back to the mister, you would only need to replace the filter and maybe add a gallon of water to it a week to top it off.

Actually it is use less ,it is very big , you need more materials to make it and it can be made in small form with 9 watt battery and DC motors which does the same thing less fancy

Or you just get a 20-inch box fan ($16 available anywhere) and a 20"x20"x1" furnace filter rated at MERV 7 or above.
Not all countries use box fans, or furnaces with filters readily available at the grocery store. This is a good alternative since car filters are ubiquitous.
