They definitely rebalanced and nerfed subs a few days ago, it's not way harder to even get close. It's basically a 2km sonar detection range at any speed of travel so they always know exactly where your sub is. Kinda defeats the whole surprise element if you can spot a sub 20m under water from 2km away
@@CoolCreeper246 no the one we have in game is Type VIID(we know its Type VIID from the amount of torpeds he have and the guns he has other versions simply dont match to the thing we have in game) that have a little boosted speed from around 13km/h under water to around 14km/h and fully emerged from around 31km/h to around 42km/h and different mine because Type VIID had vertical mines the one in the game have horizontal but to the main point Type VIID on paper could dive to 280m but in practice it could dive much deeper
Subs should be able to go to at least 150m. IRL they got tested for something 200m the Type VII. 60m is just a Joke. Otherwise its a nice change of gameplay.
The uboats are definitely harder to play than the convoy escorts but still not that hard I wouldn't say. You can easily grind the 1.5k needed for the achievements just by fighting the escorts all game.
You either get a team of destroyers that knows what it's doing and you don't get a single kill or they are complete idiots and you single-handedly drop 10 cargo ships.
My submarine, 4 meters. 2 destroyer destroyed, and another 3 naval objectives too before being destroyed when descending to 57 meters to avoid depth charges. Second attempt at 4 meters again, another 4 naval objectives destroyed. 4 meters grants you to move fast up to 44km/h and avoid most part of the damage. Also, at that altittude you can see over the water surface without leaving water trails (water trails appears at 3 meters and over and at 5 you must use the periscope), that's perfect in order to avoid air detection and, in case the planes approach too much, you can emerge quickly and shoot them before they manage to drop bombs. The only handicaps are depth charges, that can damage you even at the the surface and the destroyers approaching from your laterals, if they are behind you, drop mines, if they are on front of you, shoot torpedoes, but if they are under 50-40 meters, you will have to emerge to secure the kill. Also, you are vulnerable to torpedoes, but you can avoid them quickly with enough space.
I still couldn't figure out how to submerge how you want, I can only shbmerge to periscope depth, and I have no clue how to come up. If you can help me I would be realy grateful 🙏🏻
What are you talking about? It's always a duck hunt when I play destroyers and if they somehow sink me it's even worse for them because I get into Catalina. And I have never seen lost battle with destroyers and on the other hand I saw U-boots win once only (escort has been really clueless).
Idk what u talkin about, I had a lot of fun and top scored with both

this event is genuinely the first time I have had fun in war thunder... ever.
Yes, the first time I had fun with this game in years, and both sides are fun.
Honestly if they work on it a bit this could really be the breath of life naval needs
The whole game needs breath, it's gasping for air harder than an anaphylactic at a beekeeper convention.
