  • This is a quick demonstration on how to use the built in Earth Fault Detect feature on a Simplex 4100U and ES. It doesn't work in all situations but it's worth a try before tearing the panel apart. Please note, this will only work with 4100U ans ES components. 4100Classic and Plus components do not have this feature incorporated so even if you have a 4100U or ES head end and the feature exist, it won't do anything.

    Hello sir
I have 4100u and I faced some issues. Will you help me?

Very cool video. I really wanna become a simplex tech myself so i can learn these panels and mess around with them and make systems work for clients of all types. I do though have a question about es.exe:
I was modifying my simplex 4007es demo board and reprogramming it with its matching programmer (6.01.03). One day the computer decided it didn’t want to connect to the 4007es when i decided to dump in a new config. I used an ethernet cable which was connected correctly and the service jumper was in the proper position. A restart of my pc fixed the issue. What exactly could’ve caused es.exe to act up like it did, and have you had the same problem?

Yes, rebooting seems to work for me but most of the newer “hybrid” 4007’s the Ethernet ports don’t work and you have to download using the usb method

    Hello sir.
What does 'master a class trouble' mean? How can I reset it?

A master class A trouble means the fire panel has detected an "open" in a circuit that leaves the panel, then returns. If there's a break anywhere in the loop the panel will switch power/communication to the return side of the loop thus back feeding the broken half to maintain integrity. When the break in the wiring has been located and repaired, resetting the fire panel will switch the power/communication back and resume monitoring of the loop.

1:00 On my panel I have "idnet earth fault" but when I go to the diagnosis and click on find it appears "end of list" as if there was no earth fault

A ground on an ID-NET circuit will not effect the ground reference on the system, but isolated only to that ID-NET circuit. It pretty much tells you what circuit that a ground fault exist.

@@firealarmtech4100 There is an earth fault on loop board 2, so I:
      Select Earth Fault Search.
Select the Idnet M2 and found the M2-39 device, which is an idnet isolator, however in the field I checked the isolator module and the connection is not touching any casing or piping
