That poor guy had to hear " No means No" at every road game and still played better than anyone.

'Tegrity Shannon Jr. We all would be wise to take a page from TSJ's book and hold our tongues. Public discourse is healthy, but not pure speculation regarding either TSJ or the accuser (or the judge or . . .). We can celebrate TSJ and learn/grow as a society without subjecting other parties to the same unwarranted accusations.

It has been decades since I quit practicing law, but I find the law passed n Candas (redefining rape, the approach taken by the prosecutor, and most everything about this case to be dangerously reckless prosecution. fortunately the case was so bad that it did not take the jury long; however, think about the impact this stupid decision to prosecute on such weak evidence has had on this young man’s life. We saw a rush to judgment by people all over the Big 10; a judgment reminiscent of the way Whites treaded African American males, no matter how high their character, in the Old South. This was an inept prosecutor trusting an uncorroborated, weak accusation to go forward, when(apparently) she knew the so-called victim (she did not even prove the accusation concerning what was allegedly done to be true). No physical evidence, finding their accused by looking a numerous pictures online while drinking several drinks as an 18-year old. This case was so weak, especially given the damage a false prosecution alone could and did have on Terrence Shannon’s career. I generally applaud the work of juries, and this is yet another example of how good and seriously engaged the average American jury really is. Thank God!! Now, please, Kansas: DO SOMETHING ABOUT A BAD LAW HAT CAN SO EASILY DESTROY THE LIVES OF THE INNOCENT! End the nonsense. This was not RAPE in almost the rest of the whole world. Defining the “crime” in such a way that it can be easily faked endangers every innocent male, whether mere allegation leads to such destruction. NOW THAT THIS IS OVEr, DO SOMETHING ABOUT CORRECTING A FLAWED LAW, one that needs to be eliminated. I am confident such behavior, when it does exist, can be adequately handled by a “sexual” assault law, not by making up a new definition of rape. Sometimes the old law is BETTER!

Honestly, the DA should be replaced. I'm not sure what's going on in the county/Lawrence, but it's pretty amateur
