this is going be my next watch, i do alot of back country hunting, and the compass bezel is a selling point and one id probably end up useing, and electronics fail sometimes and this is a nice back up to have
Great review that has helped me decide my next watch. For me this is watch is an ideal choice. The compass bearing bezel will be a lot more practical and functional than a minute or hour oriented bezel. 👍
Good review, I think. I happen to own a tortoise sibling of the SRPG15, the SRPG17, a very similar Tortoise model. Same size specs though the dial appears of my watch appears to be somewhat larger because it's entirely a single color versus the light colored chapter ring in the SRPG15. My watch came stock with a black leather band that I felt was more appropriate for a funeral than everyday wear. I replaced it with a "gingerbread" leather band from Barton that I think is a far more "sporty" and (imo) more attractive choice. As far as comparing it to a Hamilton, it happens that I own a Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Automatic Green Dial Sprite Bezel ( H82375961) that, while ostensibly a dive watch, is a similar everyday timepiece with a price slightly higher than the Seiko. (About $480 vs $350.) I'm fond of both watches though i have to admit that the Hamilton with its Calibre H-10 movement is significantly more accurate than the Seiko amd has a much greater reserve . On the other hand, while the tortoise makes no claim to be a diver, its water pressure resistance is 200 meters compared to the Hamilton "scuba" diver's 100 meters. Doesn't matter to me as the most moisture either watch ever receives is an occasional spring shower. But in a head to head comparison the "land tortoise" outpoints the "scuba as a true diver.
Mini turtle owner. I do not get all the consternation about the crown at 3 from so many discussing the watch. It has never been an issue, ever, as someone who wears it daily.
Probably, but I appreciate them changing it up. Besides, if it had a dive bezel they couldn't call it a tortoise lol. I think they noticed a gap in the market and jumped on it. I might suggest adding a 24hr layout on the dial or chapter ring to be more "field watchy" but all things considered, its not bad.

Let's face it, pretty much no-one uses any type of bezel except to have fun turning it
Beautiful watch

Wow that looks nice. It's only 300 buckaroos. I will start saving up for this.
Great video man! Just got mine 😊 do you know what seiko bracelet would go with it/add a link to one? Couldn't find one on my own 😢
Ground-air emergency signals..."not something I anticipate I'll use very much" 😂

I still like the Mini. I wish they stuck with it.
Yeah its not a bad watch and I really liked the padi dial but the proportions just never felt right to me.
Dope watch, period!
just bought one 350 euro had to do it for that money
Nice. Its a killer piece.
It’s more about 450-540 € in Europe 😅
I dont like it at that cost !
I'm sure that the stiff strap of this type will soften up over one or two weeks of use this is a non issue
a little but not as much as I would have liked
I think this may do better with a timing bezel instead.

The one thing that kept me from getting this watch is the bezel… really no use for me… other than that it’s a nice watch
I mean... these watches are jewelry not tools
