This is an awesome Land Rover, and I love how you kept the physical vehicle looking stock and then add the technology to it. This is what I would love to see in new classic builds, great job.
As soon as you said you removed the original gearbox and transfer case I was puzzled how you maintained 4WD capability, but turning the Tesla driveline sideways is a stroke of brilliance. Essentially turning the Left-Right shafts into front-rear shafts. Though I get that you had to change the gearing, but still very neat bit of thinking.
Had one of these for about 10 years through the 2000's, not electric of course, absolutely loved it. You must have so much fun blowing away BMW's and stuff. If I had the money I would buy one tomorrow.
I absolutely fall in love with your toys: the Beetle first and Land Rover second........i think you are touch the little boy inside each man and wake up him .....;-) .....beatyfull !!!
Absolutely brilliant! This needs to be at least semi-mass produced. I bet many here would love to get a sense of what kind of cost that'd mean. Been watching you for awhile now, but keep coming back. This is the business.
Looks wonderful … I especially like the old style steering wheel 🛞 I would LOVE to electrify my old 110 HT Land Rover … but it cost a leg and a arm … 😜
I've got several 1st Gen Isuzu Troopers here in the USA that would be perfect for this conversion. Gonna do some research and see what it'll cost us. We have been thinking of replacing the wifes ICE 4 Runner,(300K miles on the clock!) and this would be perfect since one of the Troopers has had everything but the engine and transmission restored in it so far. Even have a new divorced transfer case that would hook up well with the electric motor.
Very well done! Especially like that transmission tunnel delete, plus the rear reverse and fog lights. Just have to win the lottery now, so I can send my 110 down to you guys!
It's just eerie to hear every crack and squeak when a thing like that is moving. Sure I love a good engine / exhaust noise, but this silence must be a different type of fun altogether.
I have seen claims made by Jeep fans that mechanical deferentials cannot be beaten for off road performance. It would be nice to hear a deeper dive into your off road design and see a demo.
I must admit you are definitely winning the "who dies with the most toys wins" game of life. Amazing conversion, makes me want to spend even more money on my TVR EV conversion 🤣⚡✊
Richard, you have an amazing forward view-point as regards usable classics. For those who might want to actually drive their old cars on the road, electric does make sense if you do have the cash for it. But...it will allow an unlimited lifespan, with no worries about fuel, valve wear, emissions, distributers, carbs, etc, etc... I guess it'll be so much cheaper & easier to replace knackered batteries on a conversion than on a full EV (Tesla/ID.3 etc) in future years.
Well done Oggy and the whole team you have done an amazing job. I wish I could afford to have my fabulous Range Rover L322 converted as I absolutely love it and I know it would make an amazing electric vehicle. Nice one 👍
This video should have waaaaay more than 11k views!! Fantastic job on this. I have promised my subscribers I am going to build a Tesla powered new shape mini and I think you are the guys for the job without a doubt. Expect a phone call in the coming months!!
Would love to see that on the Moab trails in Utah. Maybe your sponsors would allow that. I am very interested in a defender conversion. I have ordered a Rivian, however, I would prefer a defender conversion. Love your off road videos.
Nice interpretation of an early Landrover but me, I'd prefer either the early 90 or a Series 2 88. The door hinges on the 90 were originally from the Series 3, those you've fitted are from a Series 2.
Love the Landy, I filmed it at the London Motorshow. One additional detail I noticed was the Series 2 door handles! Looking forward to the new Vintage Voltage series!
Awesome build and I like the retro style vehecles. Great conversion and keep doing this type off awesome retro builds. Very clever where u put the charge plug & reverse lights makes for an clean look. Now I want to build me an 1/6 scale land rover defender like this one 😉
Fantastic and very, very well thought out. Sadly can’t convert cars legally in France, so my DCPU has to remain ICE, but hopefully one day they will catch up. All well and good demanding everyone drive PHEV/EV within the decade, but why scrap perfectly good cars in the process? You’d never be likely to do this to a 15 year old Clio, but there are so many cars out there that deserve a second life and the Defender is absolutely one of them. Great job, keep up the good work. 🙌
The steal cover should be hinged and the edge of the steal covered in a rubber edge to reduce rattle when shut when travelling, and shuts against tube of frame.
I’ve said before. I wish you could electrify my 710 Pinzgauer. Awesome work as always. I’m a huge fan of what you guys do. Miss the series on motortrend but I’m glad I’m subscribed to this RUclips channel. To bad I live in the states.
This is beautiful. Any chance that you lot are willing to make a trip to India and do a Range Rover conversion? If so, let me know and we can chalk out the details 😊.
Where not getting the second season of Vintage Motors, I would like you to ask the company if they would be interested in selling a DVD with your show. I really enjoy you and your crew doing the conversions that you do. Others don't show as much. Thanks Moggy. Still watch Petro Ped. Best wishes to you all.
I can't believe I've only just found this channel. I've been following you on various TV and RUclips shows for years but only found this channel today. Subbed and please share more. Oh, and this is the best LandRover on the Road! Well done mate.
Lovely - so many people just keep adding more and more guff to the bodies of Land Rovers, so it's really nice to see it stripped back to the cool, vintage essentials. If it were mine I'd go the whole hog and put in a series three square double windscreen, but it's not sadly :)
Juste amazing…. Would love to have your advises about a project I have, here in France, in respect with new low about retrofitting classic cars (same power, same weight than ice, and an isolated homologation needed, once for all, but only for that model).
Love it! Nice and simple and retro, when I order a 110 HCPU from you I would want it styled like that I think :D Just for hauling stuff on the bed and a roof rack over the bed as well :) And the big cubby in the dash! Lovely!
As a long term series 3 owner this looks great. But to my eyes I think the series 2/2a door hinges and mirrors don't work. The reversing light and fog lights integrated into the rear crossmember is genius.
Nice build I would love you to get hold of my 30yr old Landrover and convert 😊
Impeccable, im confident in saying you will not find a better conversion from anyone anywhere ! 👏
This is an awesome Land Rover, and I love how you kept the physical vehicle looking stock and then add the technology to it. This is what I would love to see in new classic builds, great job.

Have to admire your design skills also, combination of technical skills and creative skills, I can see why your so successful.
Superb Engineering and Craftsmanship
I absolutely fall in love with your toys: the Beetle first and Land Rover second........i think you are touch the little boy inside each man and wake up him .....;-) .....beatyfull !!!
Magical treatment.
Electric Classic Cars are kicking goals IMHO.
Love it. How they should be done. Once I win the lottery you can send one here to Australia. Love the old Landys.
Amazing! I love your other cars but this is the best yet. Landrover really missed a huge opportunity when they didn't electrify the classic landy
Will like to see more of that capability off-road 😎
As soon as I saw you had removed the factory gearbox and transfer I thought oh wow this must be the first Land Rover without oil leaks!
From Pakistan, love your conversions.
Adore it... A thing of beauty.
This is absolutely superb! Well done Richard and all involved. Very impressive.
Absolutely brilliant! This needs to be at least semi-mass produced. I bet many here would love to get a sense of what kind of cost that'd mean. Been watching you for awhile now, but keep coming back. This is the business.
i'm rethinking the engine swap in my 80s g wagen now
i am such a sucker for retro ev, i find them the best of both worlds
I remember looking into doing this over 25 years ago. I was just a theorist. Good job.
Exquisite detailing Moggy!
I would gladly have any one of your conversions over ANY supercar.
AGREE! 👍😀
Fantastic job
I really like it
Looks wonderful … I especially like the old style steering wheel 🛞
I would LOVE to electrify my old 110 HT Land Rover … but it cost a leg and a arm … 😜
Awesome video, love how you explain it all. Electric 4x4 & proper E off roading is defiantly going to be very interesting to see develop.
An all the while green lanes are disappearing! This stuff is a waste of money.
Fantastic, really wish I could afford one.
You do amazing work!
this is just incredible mate haha watching the demos literally put a smile on my face thats amazing!
this made me start a EV LRover build.... love you passion for details, thats a really nice 'creation' so to say ;)
Great to see classic Land Rovers still going strong.
How much will it cost me to buy one from you cause I fell in love withe beetle now the land Rover this is a hell of a classic build

Jurassic Park just called, they want to place an order!… (great conversion, thank you for sharing)
Great! Now I have to start planning how I will convert my G-wagon like this! Damn you! :)
Could someone tell chow much will cost about just hardware (motor , batteries controller , etc)?
Very well done! Especially like that transmission tunnel delete, plus the rear reverse and fog lights.
Just have to win the lottery now, so I can send my 110 down to you guys!
It's just eerie to hear every crack and squeak when a thing like that is moving. Sure I love a good engine / exhaust noise, but this silence must be a different type of fun altogether.
It's lovely when you're out in nature up in the mountains. ❤️😁👍
Love it! A shiny stainless asymmetrical A frame roll bar would just set it off I think. And a dare I say potential life saver. Da iawn.
If I win the Lotto - I will want this and a Spectre one too 🇬🇧👍
Fascinating idea with the center drive unit! I'm very curious about crawling up and down stuff. I see you eventually mentioned it - thank you!
I have seen claims made by Jeep fans that mechanical deferentials cannot be beaten for off road performance. It would be nice to hear a deeper dive into your off road design and see a demo.
The price for a landy like this?
I must admit you are definitely winning the "who dies with the most toys wins" game of life. Amazing conversion, makes me want to spend even more money on my TVR EV conversion 🤣⚡✊
An take out that beautiful v8😳 for a throw away electric pack!!! Madness

Expensive, but a great way to fix those Land Rover oil leaks
i want to see you making a LADA NIVA electric

Speak to our partners in the US for electric Defenders, ECD. 👍
@@ElectricClassicCars thx
Incredible. I'm planning for an EV conversion and keep coming back to a classic landy. Would love to see a video of it off road.
Very cool. I think regular bonnet with defender mirrors and door handles would look nicer though.
I saw you drag race this beast was great though your hands were numb co of the cold weather
Nice interpretation of an early Landrover but me, I'd prefer either the early 90 or a Series 2 88.
The door hinges on the 90 were originally from the Series 3, those you've fitted are from a Series 2.
Incredible acceleration - Must almost pull some G’s.

How much for my 300tdi defender to get converted please?
Awesome work!

Oh, and this is the best LandRover on the Road! Well done mate.
Electric classic cars :
" Cut off the sound and hear the beauty"
Absolutely awesome, would want a roll bar and head rests on it though! I can just see serious neck issues in any drivers future
That's what I want for my Gandalf 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I came from carwow.. your EV Beetle is an amazing machine.
Awesome! thanks for the video!
Probably the best a Defender could be. Fantastic.
So how are the prop shafts attached to the Tesla drive until? Are there a stub shafts for the Tesla LDU that have a u-joint yoke at the end?
Absolutely beautiful work understated elegance class and power I want one!
Well done !! 👏👏👏
This is just fantastic!!
Is there a build series video for this?
Elegant solution simply applied for an amazing result.
Awesome conversion.
can it still tow 3.5 tons? what does that do to the range?
If I win the lottery, you'll be hearing from me. That's a lovely car.
mate thats amazing n crazier than Tesla - keep up the great work
It’s amazing! That’s craftsmanship
How much would this kind of car cost Richard?
Finally a youtube channel!!
You should build a game viewing Landy. Would be brilliant here in southern Africa!
Contact our partners in South Africa, Electric Safari Vehicles. 😁👍
Love it! Nice and simple and retro, when I order a 110 HCPU from you I would want it styled like that I think :D Just for hauling stuff on the bed and a roof rack over the bed as well :) And the big cubby in the dash! Lovely!
I approve of this 👍 I see this in my future but for now I’ll enjoy my big V8 while I can
Great! What about the DMC-12?
Uprated brakes? Great walk around.
Brakes are standard as they're turbo charged with regenerative braking from the motor. 👍
Just brilliant, might _even_ be better than the Beetle :-))
Most reliable LR ever
soooo...... how much does a conversion cost?
Excellent cheers from Sri Lanka
This is a nice job
I am in Kenya can I get one of it and it goes for how much
Really sweet creation!!! wow

Betted than a Rivian i reckon.
