Did the overnight run from Brisbane to Sydney but never again, was so slow it missed the connection to Melbourne by over 1hr and was a rough uncomfortable ride; I'd rather see Streamliners, which at over 70yrs of age, look a lot better and can go just as fast. Well done to the workers who provide this service but if this is the best we can do, it's time to upgrade.
Yes I don't think its goal is for people who want to travel between the capital cities, I think it better serves it purpose for the regional towns it stops at and provides them another means of transport between towns.
Great video, very interesting to see!
Thanks first time I saw refuelling as well 🙂
Its showing its age these old workhorses still giving great service in the uk and Australia the hst/xpt
Yes smooth quiet ride as well
At around $2-20 a litre I am glad it wasn't my wallet that was being opened to pay for the diesel! Nice one Clayton.
hahahaa yeah good point, I suppose the NSW taxpayer is footing the bill.
I can guarantee you NSW Trainlink would not be paying retail pump price.
They would have a contract price negotiated.
@@workplacesociologyandanaly223 yes true
I'm not in Australia but that sounds a lot, isn't it Red Diesel like farmers use without road taxes incorporated, just VAT ?
@@Martindyna don't know sorry

How much fuel does it take
Does that fuel point just fuel xpts? Or is it used by other locos
according to a PN Driver I know he informs me yes it gets used by many different operators
The loco looks similar to the British HST 125 .
They are based on them.
hi if you would like to
see the British version serch hst in mexico here on you tube as this is there new home enjoy 😊
That's because they're the same train, just a different engine, That's all 😊
I filmed 48259 at South Grafton station
nice! nice to see a 48 class there
Refueled a loco there one night
oh good to know !
What a crappy, dirty outdated train.
