- Hello and welcome to my channel. I am a train enthusiast located in Victoria, Australia and just want to share some of my journeys with RUclips. Please feel free to Comment your opinions and Subscribe to my channel :)
In this video, we get trackside seats to V/Line’s Y Class diesel locomotive towing Metro’s broken down Siemens electric train. This video will also include information about the incident and the preparation undertaken before the big move. Hope you enjoy the video!
Imagine if they’d had a crossover at Caulfield to let Frankston use the other lines? wait..
I heard somewhere they got rid of the crossover so now they can’t switch tracks anymore
I was thinking the same thing being on the Pakenham line I'm pretty sure going from the city frankston could use platform 4then proceed to glen Huntley I think the station is next unless they removed those tracks or changed them but I doubt that as vline trains use both the Pakenham line and frankston 🤷 been a while since catching train might have a look tomorrow
I think they got rid of the cross over because they intend to use the Dandenong line at full capacity. I guess in emergencies they could reduce services from Dandenong to allow some Frankston services.
Magnificent catches of the train rescue, i like it 5 stars.
Thumbs up.
Keep up the perfect work, my friend, I subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal.
Thank you very much :)
@@StrayaTrains no problem.
I'm surprised that this didn't make the news. Well done getting as much video as you did.
Man I cannot believe the 2525t was involved so many memories on that one
Cool
Well made coverage of another Siemens disaster story
Thankyou!
Both sets back in service now with new Pantographs.
Very quick fix
Thanks for staying up late for this. Things you won't see any TV news cover.
Cheers :)
There was trespasser on tracks near Jacana today
Was on the 1336 Down Seymour which stopped just past Jacana. Saw the individual on the tracks then climbed over the fence on the up side and disappeared. Only held us for 2 -3 minutes although had approached slowly, not sure if due to t'passr or signals.
Interesting they didn't install a red rear marker light on the siemens set too. Thought that would be compulsory? I'm sure all the HCMT transfers recently have had one.
Any idea what caused all the pantos to fold back and over. Any evidence of the overheads being repaired?
Repairs wre completed around 5am the following morning
It appears to be a chronic issue with the Siemens specifically, similar thing happened at Laverton last year without any cause. Maybe pantos got replaced or adjusted and that’s caused some faults?
This is the reason why that some of the Comenge trains have too be kept in service.
An odd but cool occurrence.
Was a good night although rather long
Yes. Uber arrives when Y Class arrives moment
There was flooding between Watergardens and Diggers Rest
are there gonna be platform screen doors on every station on the lines that are running through the metro tunnel? i know this sounds un realistic because of v line services
Right now just the Metro Tunnel Stations
i was wondering how a Y class was able to tow a Siemens until I saw they split the train
How did you get home when the last trains have already gone?
Car
I wonder if the wrong line running used a pilotman?
Can you do Stage 3 comeng announcements on the Sunbury line before retirement thanks
Thanks for the suggestion
did you end up talking to any of the workers about the incident also great video straya
No. And thanks :)
I saw a short video earlier this week of the rescue operation.
Wongm?
@@dominooo6658 No, it was another channel but I can't quite remember who.
@@therealsammyvee888 oh ok. I thought it was wongm’s because i saw his video earlier
@@dominooo6658 All good mate.
I hope the four pantographs had there Myki tickets topped up and they touched on before boarding the train - sorry could not resist it
Haha
what was that train in the background 1:26
Siemens
Good, there are getting rid of these rubbish Siemens because the seats are so uncomfortable for my family
X’Trapolis seats are better
*even tho they’re uncomfortable aswell*
X’Trapolis & EDI Comeng is my favourite type of train
@@YoussefPlayzz The xtrapolis ride quality is crap tho
And siemens trains arent getting scrapped
The Y class uses Tait bogies, so rescued by a Tait in spirit?
Lol
seems like a design flaw for the part that sticks out of the train to require cutting to remove it
Required so the train can run by making contact with the overhead. Pantographs are on all electric trains
@@StrayaTrains I don't mean that it has a pantograph, I mean that it requires cutting off. I would think that it should be made easier to remove
It would’ve been cool if MTM had some thunderbird locomotives to rescue trains. Anyways, great video!
Wait is thunderbird the term for t, p, y, x, h type locomotives like streamliner is the term for A, b, and s classes?
@@Thetiersofmadness thunderbird means rescue locomotive
@@GoldM4official oh thanks
@@Thetiersofmadness you’re welcome
Btw, those locomotives you thought were thunderbirds are ‘Hood Units’
@@GoldM4official always wanted to know that, much appreciated
How did this even happen 😂
RIP Siemens Nexas pantagraphs
Siemens trains are basically like Nissan cars
Why did they do 2 transfers
Can't do 6 car Siemens loco transfers. Some rule I believe
@@StrayaTrains ok
Weight restrictions on the transition coupling 👍
I call them Lemons
No reason why I hate Siemens trains with a passion
Why need too many staff on Tracks,
Procedure and safety. People from various jobs are needed
Classic Siemens Failure 😂😂😂😂
Fr
Eyy don't be giving Siemens sssssh they better then those stupid x trap trains running on gleny line etc 😂
Have you ever thought about becoming a train driver?
Yes
