Great movie. We all get to see the tie between Butch and Buzz( phillip ) playout, but in the background, Red and Gerber have 2 discussions that give more insight between the connection between Red and Butch when butch was a teenager. I think they could have added a few more lines to the end when Red meets butch in the field. Butch says "Do I know you friend" and red replies, "no, not really". We don't know the extent of the Butch & Red meetings of the past, but it is revealed that Red remembers Butch. We see that Butch is holding onto what little hope there is of every meeting his father and Buzz holding onto the hope of Butch being his fatherly figure.If you like this movie, try "Hearts in atlantis" and "least among saints". Similar themes and very well done movies as well.
