The trouble with Clint Eastwood.s movies is that they are far better than any movies being made today.
well then I wouldn't call it a "trouble". I'd say it was a great thing.
No doubt
Plus, as revealed during "In the Line of Fire", Clint knows things about pigeons.
Couldn’t agree more
Agreed
'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' was the best, not just because of Eastwood's performance, but it had a great score that linked all the scenes, and especially because Eli Wallach was outstanding as Tuco, played with so much zest. "When you have to shoot, shoot don't talk" is one of the best lines in the film, or any film.
Agreed
Eli almost got injured in a couple of scenes. When the bridge exploded, a large piece of debris hurled toward Eli missing him by a foot. In the "two can dig faster than one" scene, Angel Eyes almost hits Eli with the shovel.
@@encinobalboa also the train that cut his handcuffs. The step of a car almost hit him in the head as it was going by, before he then jumped on the train.
Also Tuco had more screen time than other 2.
you have forgot the music!!!
Kelly’s Heroes, Heartbreak Ridge, High Plains Drifter, & Pale Rider deserve a mention.
I liked Hearbreak Ridge. Showed those punk kids whose the boss.
I like Kelly's Heroes much more than Where Eagles Dare.
Love Kelly’s Hero’s and Heartbreak Ridge.
Love "Pale Rider" as good as "Unforgiven" in some ways.
And Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
Every Which Way But Loose - well it's my favourite anyway. Hugely underrated comedy. Ruth Gordon was just marvellous.
Clyde deserved an Oscar.
Leone, Morricone, Eastwood. = Cinema Excellence. j.
When I clicked on this I asked myself do you feel lucky? I saw it. It made my day. 😎😀😆🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Good The Bad and The Ugly
My all time favorite period !
Excellent actor !! And all fantastic movies 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐From Italy 🇮🇹
Clint Eastwood is the ONLY person who deserves a "Top 15" list. High Plains Drifter, Pale Rider, The Eiger Sanction, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, along with Kelly's Heroes should all have been listed. But I do agree with the top pick "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is not only the greatest western ever made, it's one of the most EPIC films in history!!!
Where's Hang Em' High, Magnum Force, and Perfect World?
I agree with everything you say, but The Good,Bad, And The Ugly is in no way the Greatest Western ever. Once Upon A Time In The West is far better, as is High Noon and The Wild Bunch.
@@vernpascal1531 I think it's great to agree to disagree!!! That was just IMHO, as are the ones you listed, but to each their own...
The Outlaw Josey Wales is his best in my opinion. I saw it in theaters as a wee lad and will watch it whenever it's on TV. It doesn't hurt having the great Chief Dan George co starring, along with John Vernon and Clint's usual great cast of character actor's.
I completely agree with you, three movies of his career, is way better than the others, 1. The Outlaw Josey Wales, 2. In the Line of fire, 3. Tightrope, 4. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Clint has directed three masterpieces:
GT
OLJ
UF.
Imho he has never directed a great film that he hasn't acted in. Like Charlie Chaplin!
@@brucemarshall3446 Ok, Play Misty for me, is maybe not his most memorable movie, still a great movie and his first movie that he directed. "...he has never directed a great movie...." What about Bird? His first nomination for the Academy Award. I would say that is a great portrait of Charlie Parker.
Josey wales his best, no mention of thunderbolt and lightfoot and kellys hero’s
@@carlhughes6459 Have never liked Kellys heroes, éxcept for Donald Sutherland, he is fantastic, but as a movie, not my favorite. Thunderbolt, ok, but I agree with you about The Outlaw Josey Wales, his best movie, along with Tightrope, in that movie he really show his greatness, as an actor.
The Good, the Bad is one of the best movies of all times. Eli Wallach deserves an Osacar for his performance.
He is the best.
The best actor and director of all time what a legend for sure 😁👍
Totally agree with you !
@@nicolavivarelli4127 aaaaa
Yup on that there's no doubt. People will always argue who is the greater actor, or Filmmaker Lean,Hitchcock,Speilberg etc. or who is greater Dylan,Beatles,Stones etc. but there is ZERO Doubt that Clint is the best Director/Actor ever.
Clint is the GOAT! Josey Wales is my favorite movie ever. Then Unforgiven. The man is just amazing. One in a million.
My Top 10:
1. A Fistful Of Dollars
2. Hang 'Em High
3. Dirty Harry
4. Magnum Force
5. For A Few Dollars More
6. In The Line Of Fire
7. Escape From Alcatraz
8. Play Misty For Me
9. The Gauntlet
10. Firefox
I like them all. Play Misty For Me was Eastwood's first film he directed. 1971. Drama. Coogans Bluff. Action/Drama. 1968. Joe Kidd. Western. 1972. Firefox. Action. 1982. Well rounded actor who played many types of roles in many types of movies. The man has it all.
Play Misty For Me scared the crap out of a young me.
" The bridges of Madison County " is one of the good films of Eastwood
It is good, but you should see it first, then read the book. I had the misfortune to do that in the wrong order.
Honorable mention List: The Gauntlet, The Eiger Sanction, In the Line of Fire, Coogan's Bluff, Space Cowboys, Absolute Power, Pale Rider, Tightrope, Two Mules for Sister Sara and Kelly's Heroes.
There are so many great movies and roles for Clint Eastwood that it is impossible to come up with Top 10. It is all subjective.
Add Paint your Wagon.
Great list. Shows what a great body of work he has.
@@1256giff You are joking of course. Clint and Lee Marvin both hated that movie and did it only for the money.
@@mshahnazi7636 I like the movie thats all.
@@1256giff I saw that as a child as both of those two actors were my favorites, however it was strange to see them singing. Jean Seberg was quite hot in that movie as she always was during those times.
I would rank 'Unforgiven' as his #1. Probably the best western ever made. Eastwood, as director, takes his time with slow panoramics of the beautiful mid-west. The supporting characters are all thoughtfully developed. Little Bill, Ned, English Bob, The Schofield Kid, and my favorite, the writer W,W, Beauchamp. It goes without saying, that this is one of Eastwoods best performances. But what is most impressive, is the storyline, about an old pig farmer who gets a visit from his past, when a young kid visits him looking for a partners to earn some reward money. As this movie progresses, small bits of dialogue reveal that this pig farmer is actually one of the most fearless and ruthless men of the old wild west.
Great list, but ,' Hang em high' should be in it
Glad to see ALCATRAZ up there.
Ten times better than the grossly overrated SHAWSHANK..
UNFORGIVEN is a flat out masterpiece!
@@brucemarshall3446 No it's not
@@mariogmajner6549 Yes it is.
I would put "Kelly's Heroes" on the list, it's terrific 😀
Seen it many times.
Kelly's Heroes one of the best WWII films ever made. This fantasy comedy subtilty hides the fact that the actual combat scenes, and a real infantry platoon's interaction, make it one of the most accurate ever put on film.
Nobody said nothing about locking no horns with no tigers!
I hope that's what Oddball said, because it makes for a quadruple negative.
@@iamTheSnark truth
Like your list...I would add Play Misty For Me. Clint is my all time favorite actor! I've seen most of his films, some many times. The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly...the BEST western EVER!!!
I’ve sen them all. Clint is really a legend. His Voice, his acting. I vote for the The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Clint and Sean Connery are the best of all time. 😀
Totally agree that The God, The Bad and the Ugly is the best film ever
Eastwood movies in general are a rare breed of critical aclaimed and entertaining films for more than fifty years in history ....you dont see a bad movie ....maybe one at least or two....but most of his catalogue of movies ate simply great
As a climber I enjoyed The Eiger Sanction the most and I heard Clint took his own stunt fall. Incredible rock climbing and mountain climbing scenes. The movie closely follows the novel by Trevanian with some of the same dialogue.
Yes it does and I to read the novels and love this movie
I just said that before I saw your comment
That's an underrated film to be sure!
Another good movie from Clint just like Joe Kidd with great outside shots.
Escape From Alcatraz is terrific. I read yesterday sadly that The Great man hasn't been seen in public for well over a year.
Been watching Eastwood movies for over 60 yesrs. Grew up with them. Love them all. What a presence. Also a John Wayne fan. The 2 best Western actots.
Your list is well researched. The Good, the bad and the ugly rightfully stand on top.
👍
True.
But, he's not really the star.
Awesome list 👌
Classic movie and my favorite
The good the bad and the ugly
نحب المصريين 💙
As a Marine, any “Best Clint Eastwood movie” list is null and void without Heartbreak Ridge!
We enjoyed your selection nut thought 'Unforgiven' was his best. We missed the mention of his amazing movie 'The mule'. Prior to watching this movie, we believed nobody would be interested in watching a 90 year old movie star directing & acting in the movie!!!! After watching the fast paced, action movie, I defy anybody to state that this movie rates among his very best, surprising & entertaining movies he ever made.
I appreciate your top ten and thanks for sharing. The main thing is that Clint Eastwood has truly entertained us constantly for years, and let’s face it we watch his films over and over again. Thanks Clint.
Go ahead, make my day!
Undoubtedly THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY stands top. The Mule is another good flick from Clint Eastwood. Love you sir forever.
Watch any movie with Clint.
His character rarely speaks.
Everyone else in the room speaks, but Clint just looks sideways or grunts.
A remarkable economy of screenwriting.
I think you nailed this list. Unforgiven is one of my favorite movies ever, and I thought it would be at the top. But Good, Bad, and the Ugly, omg, the only Eastwood movie that could beat it. good job! However, I humbly submit Thunderbolt and Lightfoot as a strong runner-up for this list
High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider. I think the list will have to be increased to twelve!
Or a TOP 60 😉
'Breezy' (1973), his second film as a director starring William Holden, deserves an honorating mention even though it never got any wider recognition...
The good the bad and the ugly. 👍 what a film!
A GOOD MAN ALWAYS KNOWS HIS LIMITATIONS.....
CLINT EASTWOOD, MAGNUM FORCE ..... 1973
Man's got to know his limitations.
High plains drifter and for a few dollars more and magnum force...great in thunderbolt and lightfoot tops...josey is brilliant...until Sandra locked arrives in it....snore...fab Western though..
I’m surprised nobody has mentioned “Paint your wagon or Kelly’s Heroes” two films which should be on the list!!
paint thy wagon is garbage IMO.
@@morrisanderson3180 But Kelly's Heroes is excellent.
brian walsh: yes Kelly's heroes is one of my faves.
Paint Your Wagon ranks up there with Bronco Billy is one of the silliest worst movies Clint Eastwood ever made
Kelly Heros is just plain fun to watch
Dirty Harry should have been number one hands down and what about Coogan's Bluff the character he played in that actually inspired the way he acted in Dirty Harry
Dollars Trilogy or Dirty Harry
Coogan's Bluff is another one of his best. Other ones that seem to be forgotten and never talked about are Joe Kidd Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and the Eiger Sanction. Top notch Eastwood films with great supporting casts all of them.
I've read a ton of these comments and I failed to see 1 mention Play Misty For Me. What a great movie.
Admired Clint Eastwood since I was a young.
After Elvis, Clint is bar none the most handsome and sexiest man ever!! I am 79 so I have "creds" I have seen them all!
If you put clint eastwood in cartoon film it would win an oscar he's an absolute legend ive nearly watched every movie he has starred in ..he can well play every roll possiable badass too some humor stuff in every which way but loose and any which way you can..he really is the complete legand in acting directing writing and producing proformance's that has caught every eastwood fan's attention and been memorised by his greatness..long live clint in the heart's and mind's of so many all over the world thank you clint 🙏🙏👍👍🤘🤘💕Greeting's from ireland🇮🇪
I Love You Mr. Clint Eastwood 💖
A living legend !!
It's damn hard to choose a top 10 from Clint, the man is a living legend. I highly enjoyed his recent films too and one not really ever mentioned enough is the Changeling. Eastwood Directed, Produced, and Scored the film, just like several of his other films.
My favorite Clint Eastwood films in no particular order are The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Dirty Harry, Pale Rider, For A Few Dollars More, The Outlaw Josey Wales, In The Line Of Fire, unforgiven and A Fistful Of Dollars.
Unforgiven as a runner up really 🤣
@@mikebarratt6767 I changed my post and Unforgiven is not a runner up and is one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies that I watched growing up with my Dad. There are so many good Eastwood movies.
Client Eastwood is a great actor of all times
The last, great, action-hero imho. Not just in his acting chops, but in the movies, themselves, the direction (often by himself), the scores, the timing, the genres. You grow up with these movies - they become sewn into your life...
I have seen all his movies over and over again !
Your top pick is pure Eastwood as it’s best!
Leone & Morricone’s Best
As a bonus we get Wallach & Van Cleef in top-notch roles
I don't think I have ever watched a Clint Eastwood movie I didn't like.
My favourite though, was Gran Torino.
It was such an emotional movie, that showed that the grumpiest, bigoted old bastard can have a soft spot.
He will remain for me, the greatest actor/producer, ever.
A stylish, cowboy, gunman actor of all time🎞.
The list is quite fair. Sudden impact & the mule too were good
Truly amazing Clint Eastwood.. Have watched almost all his movies..
I knew whats gonna be the first one. And I fully agree.
Magnum Force is my favourite. Bridges to Madison was a good one as well.
Any movie with Clint Eastwood is great another great actor in my book.
Thobim not in absolute complete agreement, this list is very solid.
love the spaghetti westerns but for me Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is my fave Eastwood film. thanks for posting .
RIP YOU THE STAR OF ALL STARS LOVED ALL OVER THE WORLD
I watched the end of this vid just to verify that "The good, the bad and the ugly" came on top and I was not disappointed.
Without a doubt, my favorite actor of all time.
Hello! Clint Eastwood is best actor and best realisator I'm fan since 1974.yes the better movies maker. Greetings from France.
SURPRISE ! SURPRISE ! U GOT THE #1 MOVIE RIGHT WITH THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY VOTED #1. IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE ! IT'S ALSO MY 2ND FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME AFTER THE SAND PEBBLES !!!
I agree, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was my FAVORITE movie of all time. The music was another character in the movie! All of the "No Name" trilogies were awesome!!! I also really like High Plains Drifter and Hang Em High!!!! Unforgiven, Outlaw Josie Wales were EXCEPTIONAL as well as Escape from Alcatraz! Finally, I ALSO REALLY LIKED ALL of the Dirty Harry movies AS WELL AS Every Which Way But Loose AND Any Which Way You Can!!!!!
Clyde, right turn!
His late career is incredible: Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, The Mule… what an amazing way to end his career
The greatest cowboy. I agree with your list and order. It's my hobby to watch Clint ' s movies again and again.😀👍👌
Play Misty For Me and The Eiger Sanction were notable as well.
3. Thunderbolt & Lightfoot (1974)
2. Dirty Harry (1971)
1. The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (1966)
There are just too many Good Movies of his to be listed in a Top 10 ❤
The guy did his homework as an actor director producer and music score ......a legend indeed
Clint Eastwood My Favourite Actor,,,,,Great Great Great Great Great Video 📹 thanks thanks so thanks
I agree with your list 👍
Great list!
Definitely agree with number one.
The man with no name trilogy always my favourite Eastwood movies
Great man.
Very good list, the good, the bad and the ugly will always be my fav. movie of Clint Eastwood.
Gotta say, the Clint film I've watched the most is Heartbreak Ridge, lots of quotable Clint in it too. To be fair, he's done a LOT of good films, as has been mentioned, Kelly's Heroes, Pale Rider and even my favourite musical (if you don't count The Blues Brothers) Paint Your Wagon where Clint even sings....
Lots of westerns, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is definitely missing from this list
Yes that’s an all time classic. Very moving ending also. Genius!
Heartbreak Ridge for Honorable Mention!!
Music by Ennio Morricone . Some thing above imagination
The director of the film, Sergio Leone is a super talented and gifted one ,for how an italian person any way can have the sense of the .life of the western : how they live. How they look like. How they act..the train . The war scene . The way of shooting etc etc .
Accompanied throughout the film by the splindid views and great expressing music !?
The Beguiled is underrated as hell!
Couple of Clint Eastwood movies I really love is High Plains Drifter and FireFox
Kelly's heroes should be in there
"Play Misty for me" should have been on this list, but The Good, Bad and the Ugly is #1 of all time!
1. For A Few Dollars More
2. Magnum Force
3. Outlaw Josey Wales
4. Dirty Harry
5. Fist Full of Dollars
6. Good ,Bad, Ugly
7. Kelly's Heros
8. Joe Kidd
9. High Plains Drifter
10. Gran Torino
Still more many more Eastwood ACTION films that KICK ASS.....
List is fine. The one western that started it all for him was "Hang Em High".
While my list may be a bit different you really hit the classics and I love you separating the Dollars trilogy because most cheat and lump them in as one pick. Bravo on your top 10
It's a thankless task trying to put together a list like this as opinions are so subjective, but you/'ve done a great job. The movies you included are all good, arguably great. I would probably have included 7 of them. I would have left out Gran Torino and the two Fist Full of Dollars movies to make way for A Perfect World, Play Misty For Me, and The Bridges of Madison County.
My favorite is High plains drifter.
There are so many to choose from. Hard to pick a top ten
High Plains Drifter, Unforgiven, Dirty Harry, Outlaw Josey Wales, Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, The Enforcer, Gran Torino, The Good, The Bad &The Ugly, Magnum Force & Kelly's Heroes are mine in no particular order.
No mention of my favourite........a unlikely Eastwood.........a beautiful movie.....The bridges of Madison county.
Very beautiful clinteastwood legend 😍👏
👍
