He was very slow. When they had to shoot a fast draw scene there was a 50/50 chance the gun would hit the floor. That is why he made that exaggerated shove forward of the pistol, to try and make it look faster.
The Mel Gibson one doesn't count, he was never seen drawing his pistol, he obviously had it in his hand already and that was hidden from the camera. Even when he holstered it and drew it again, it wasn't him doing it because they hid his face. It was a double. All done by trick of the eye camera work.
True, but many actors train hard to master using a gun for these type of movies. Clint Eastwood being one. And yes, it's not real life, its a movie, but it's what they perceived it to be that matters, hence this video.
all tricks the real west only had a few but they did look for advantages and accuracy it was known doc holiday had the latest army revolver ordered with spring loaded trigger no cocking needed shorter barrel and filled site down on barrel harding did same and wild bill change trigger to fit his big fingers and it was common to take a stance side ways and have hand on gun just a few thoughts for readers
Jack Swift with the dual Showstoppers. A man of culture I see.

🎉 Django got seven shots from a six shooter in one scene, now THAT takes talent

“6 shots, more than enough to kill anything that moves.”
God i miss Red Dead Revolver, that game was fun as hell
fr
It’s still on the PS Store I just bought it a couple months ago and replayed it.
God _damn_ Django is fast.
@@MrMicahBellThey’re all fantasy films buddy
Especially with that long barrel, must make it even slower , so imagine with a regular revolver
Django shooting looked goofy as hell

The fastest on film, without a doubt, was Jim in Blazing Saddles. Was no one quicker. THE western channel explored this.
You mean the Waco Kid?
Nevermind that shit. HERE COMES MONGO!
@@johnaustin209 No no, don't use them, they'll only make him angry.
Mongo only pawn, in the game of lie :(@@johnaustin209
Django unchained scene. Is wicked realistic brutal acting like they were in so much pain caused by multiple large rounds
Why Ed Bailey are we cross-Doc Holliday
FYI smokeless gun powder wasn’t invented until 1884. Even then it wasn’t widely available that year.

These videos are done from the film's perspective, not real-life.

Deadwood the tv show, worth a watch if you like realism in a western

mel gibson's draw you can clearly see is not him at all.....
Actually in this scene you can clearly see that it is him. But he didn’t draw the pistol. He had it is hand by his side and just brought it up.
"My money'd be on you"
(cos I know your ego says it was you and I'd rather flatter you than annoy you)
also cause he never fired. bill draws and fires before bullock had his barrel pointed at the rider.
