I'm gonna echo the thoughts of two previous commentors: doing a "final" episode / comeback for Rags to Witches (the reason being... why not? but also because Realm of Magic's anniversary is coming soon anyway), where you literally fix the entire Bigwallet estate in Glimmerbrook! And I mean the whole estate: including the age of their toddler (that child should be a teen at least by now, keeping in with fixing the Bigwallet timeline), the damn front door situation so that if they want a renovation again afterward, it does not glitch out, and redoing their whole castle using only their preferences for modern gray pipe organs, lol
I do like the idea that Column used evil magic to keep him from growing up... But tbh I don't care what James does so long as everybody has a bed and the dog gets a feeding dish.
And actually furnish the house with realm of magic items. Make it fit the aesthetic. Every other Bigwallet has gotten a build that suited them as a person and their lifestyle. Columns is so crap
It would really make sense if you moved the second house to the front as well and the sheds to the back of the lot. There is even another shed in the backround, which would make it more fitting. And with the new front/entrance of the farm, the other house would fit there more as well.

I've been saying that for a while but "Let Out" is not a usual option for dogs! As you can see it has the red collar icon, meaning it's tied to a trait. I don't remember what the trait is called, I think it's "Independent" or something similar. It's the same kind of special interaction as asking a vocal pet to sing or a lazy one to go rest on the couch. It's not a requirement for your dogs' needs. It just makes them wander around the neighbourhood.
I love this series cause it has so many different expansions involved. Eco lifestyle, university, DHD, and of course cottage living. It makes it so fun to watch with the chaos of all the different skills and story lines

I think that an earlier suggested idea of expanding the main house makes even more sense now - especially since that circular entrance is so massive. Plus as someone who grew up with siblings sharing a room - that only works while both are smaller and have minimal toys.
My favorite part is that you have more things breaking in this let’s play then the let’s play of every lot challenge with the gremlins that are suppose to actually break your items.
Maybe maybe those little buildings that are uncomfortably close to the back house into parts of the house? Or move them behind the house? They look a little funny as they are. James you can make juice/kombucha/seltzer with the machine! You can use fruits, veggies, and flowers! Also you can make 6 packs with only 2 produce! And obviously 1 bottle with one produce
Having fire toilets and no insect farms is going to cost you money. You'll have to replace the toilet once it catches fire and any other items that are too close and get caught in the blaze. I think it makes sense to have insects on a farm anyway. You just need to remember to empty the compost once in a while. It's pretty simple.
I am so right there with YOU! I missed him so much - I am watching his other Let's Play - (BigWallet) which is fun, but I love the Home Decorator series) he is the only one who has continued with it!
You can also use the retail warming rack and freezer from Get to Work to store stuff outside of the household fridge because it has a separate inventory. Eggs, milk, pies, everything except oversized crops.

Also, I am really worried about poor little Reginald becoming an orphan soon. Wouldn't he be a teen about now? Otherwise Hazel and Trenton could adopt him. And my last random suggestion: Give Column a farmy cottage core vibe uniform for work. For the aesthetics.
I think its time for another farm build, maybe inspired by the one you once did with the silo. Then you can plan enough room for Trenton, Hazel and there future kids without a "downgrade" for chaz. Maybe the animals get a nice upgrade? It also would give the LP a target you want to reach. And also I would see a new great farmbuild from you!

Also the shed should be at the back corner so they can go out the back door to, not that they will because sims. I really wish SIMS had a way to display (for all household sims) an option called Improve (or whatever) with subcategories to list broken items, messes, sickness, appliance upgrade levels, garden tending needs... That only appear when there's a problem on the lot we just didn't notice and can set a Sim to tackle it (or upgrade it).
James if you shift crtl on the roof it brings up other options or like those white bubble thing you can drag. Also an my most favorite thing, you can hold down I think shift or crtl an make the hanging of the roof (idk it's actual term) you can drag it an make either lower then other sides hanging or longer... If you didn't know. They a huge game changers to building ☺️
I love cottage living and this LP.... but I sooooooo wish it wasn't always so dark in this game. It's hard to see ANYthing about 80% of the time when I'm playing. The circular walk looks good if it weren't so wide... and maybe a little less bright so it looks like it's not so brand new against the rest of the cottage?
I has these trouble with the water everywhere too and it's annoying. I tried putting mats on the entrances but I THINK what fixed it was putting an Umbrellas thingy OUTSIDE the door. BC I think those pudles are the water the Sims drag inside when it rains. I can't confirm109% it actually fixed it, but I think it did

I think the big circular bath in front of the house is a good idea, but needs to be smaller -- and please move the workshop for Trenton and Hazel to the back of their house! It feels so cramped, pushed up against the side like that! But I like the money tree on the Evil Chicken island -- makes it feel like they're keeping it safe. :p And yay, the Realm of Magic family is finally getting their proper house, slowly but surely. . .if the toddler doesn't cover it in paint first. XD

Re: Chaz doing the weird thing in the rain, opening and closing his umbrella and walking somewhere unprompted, it's been happening to my Sims since Cottage Living came out. I had to disable rain entirely, otherwise they'd start walking across the world and not come back. If you rearrange the entrance to the greenhouse (move it forward a few windows maybe?) you should have enough room for another chicken coop, and it can tie into your redesign of the front of the lot. Everything is looking so good! I really like the new design for the store

I really wish SIMS had a way to display (for all household sims) an option called Improve (or whatever) with subcategories to list broken items, messes, sickness, appliance upgrade levels, garden tending needs... That only appear when there's a problem on the lot we just didn't notice and can set a Sim to tackle it (or upgrade it).
James if you shift crtl on the roof it brings up other options or like those white bubble thing you can drag. Also an my most favorite thing, you can hold down I think shift or crtl an make the hanging of the roof (idk it's actual term) you can drag it an make either lower then other sides hanging or longer... If you didn't know. They a huge game changers to building ☺️

I love cottage living and this LP.... but I sooooooo wish it wasn't always so dark in this game. It's hard to see ANYthing about 80% of the time when I'm playing. The circular walk looks good if it weren't so wide... and maybe a little less bright so it looks like it's not so brand new against the rest of the cottage?
I has these trouble with the water everywhere too and it's annoying. I tried putting mats on the entrances but I THINK what fixed it was putting an Umbrellas thingy OUTSIDE the door. BC I think those pudles are the water the Sims drag inside when it rains. I can't confirm109% it actually fixed it, but I think it did
Ok nevermind I already saw someone saying it is because of the dogs. It tracks haha when this happened to me I had a dog. And then he died so that could explain why it stopped and why it hasn't happen again un any other household HAHA

I think the big circular bath in front of the house is a good idea, but needs to be smaller -- and please move the workshop for Trenton and Hazel to the back of their house! It feels so cramped, pushed up against the side like that! But I like the money tree on the Evil Chicken island -- makes it feel like they're keeping it safe. :p And yay, the Realm of Magic family is finally getting their proper house, slowly but surely. . .if the toddler doesn't cover it in paint first. XD

Switch the toilet in the outhouse with the one in trenton and hazels house, its more rustic looks more like an outhouse anyway

Re: Chaz doing the weird thing in the rain, opening and closing his umbrella and walking somewhere unprompted, it's been happening to my Sims since Cottage Living came out. I had to disable rain entirely, otherwise they'd start walking across the world and not come back.
If you rearrange the entrance to the greenhouse (move it forward a few windows maybe?) you should have enough room for another chicken coop, and it can tie into your redesign of the front of the lot. Everything is looking so good! I really like the new design for the store
