Jesus Christ. Not even 10 seconds in and I hear things I never noticed before. That little pull off he does after the intro lick, I thought it was just one note, but it's a whole lick by itself. Amazing.
@@dimitrisorzieri7324 Last lick before the open A chord in the intro riff. Three notes in a row sounds like legato/quick pull off. I thought it was just two notes, but he's throwing a whole triplet lick in there.
I regularly watch those videos. And I'm overwhelmed each single time. That this sound was created by this tiny genius. So sad we don't have the chance anymore to enjoy him live. RIP guitar monster❤❤
There are only 2 other people in history known to play their respective instruments with as much precision as Malcolm Their names are Cliff Williams & Phil Rudd
It's incredibly hard, impossible to play exactly like him but it's always fun to try because I always find myself falling in love all over again with his playing and that monstrous sound!
@@ArnosticThat's because no matter what anyone says man Malcolm is the best rhythm player in history bar fucking nobody. Anyone that can top him isn't real because they don't exist. There is no tighter rhythm player than Mal and there never will be.
He used .12 gauge strings late in his career, but he used to use acoustic guitar strings. In the Powerage era, it’s very hard to see, but if you look at live footage of the time (late 76-early 78), his strings are gold/bronze. So it’s possible he was using even thicker strings than .13 gauge, maybe even .14’s… Also, a TON of work was done to his Gretsch to keep it in tune, including a Badass wraparound roller bridge. This certainly helped.
Malcolm can easily be regarded as the greatest rhythm guitar player that ever lived. A genius in his simplicity.
I would put Izzy Stradlin' with him. They provide the backbone of the song to allow Angus/Slash to play the pyrotechnics.
Keef
But weird and coool

Same thing here. Things I just thought I was imagining stand out crystal clear. If this is the live version, what's the studio track like? Amazing
What "pull off" are you talkin about?

@@ianspeckmaier9565ah ok. Actually It's real a pull off on the A chord. You do It with the second finger and It C-C#(pull-down)-A (pulled -off)
The insane amount of precision he always kept is unreal.
yeah

You're absolutely right !
Raw precision!... that’s Malcolm!
Who gave this a thumbs down?? Someone who can’t play like Malcolm? Hey buddy, jealousy is a disease. Get well soon!
Someone who listens to Taylor Swift.
When you could still see the dislikes
Hahha but no one can play like malcolm
hard to narrow who that one someone could be, because there's not a human past present or future who can play like Malcolm, EVER
He is a machine of rythm guitar.. he does what has to be done. Sustain the music and let Angus free to shine. Powerful combination
AC/DC music beats with my heart. So loud!! Malcolm, we'll never forget you
Was für ein Sound!
This is great, The Late Malcolm Young (R.I.P), played with such precision, and what a magical rock tone he got out of his Gretsch and Marshall Amps.
I freaking love your channel! Please continue making these videos, they're wonderful!
I never thought too much about this song, but holy shit I love THIS!!!
Amazing! Malcolm was a guitar machine

Who would tell how much work he’s doing in this let’s say simple song! ❤️👍
I love this!!! Gives me chills.
If you want a challenge, try to play along to this exactly how he's doing it.

MALCOLM'S RHYTHM! ❤❤❤❤❤
Like a computer programmed machine. RIP Genius
Una nueva *Cátedra* del Rock debe ser abierta y es el estudio de la Guitarra Rítmica de Malcolm Young.
Amazing, very little distortion and the guitar is always in tune...
His g string never goes out of tune. Heard he used a wound g.

@Alexander Hautot he used 13-58 👍🏻
@@tobiasmarberg7202 No wonder he always used like 50 picks every gig, those strings and his powerful swing were turning the picks into dust
Fucking great 👍🏻
É incrível a riqueza de detalhes que o Malcolm tem na guitarra base, nunca tinha ouvido isso antes. Obrigado pelo vídeo!!!!
Wow! Just wow!!!
Love these! keep them coming!!!!
R.I.P. Malcolm fantastic 👏
Make Riff Raff for all of them Malcom, Angus and Phil with Cliff 🥲
Do Soul Stripper. Word on the street is that Malcolm did one of the solos.
Show business too! Some of his solos are floating around on RUclips but not islolated
Jesus christ his strings must have eaten picks like a wood chipper😀
Lots of pick dust under the strings
Malcolm's sound and attack:
A Thunderous Heavy Freightrain
Woo hoo!
The best
Amazing 😮
Mal best rock rythm guitar ever 🤘
Songsterr can't reproduce properly this guitar tab either.
