angus too... if you ask angus, everything was malcolm, malcolm taught him how to play, setup angus's amps to sound good, wrote the songs, played the solos even until he decided to sit back and let angus run around on stage
and yet, they were both the best at what they did

No one beefs up the sound of the band like Phil. When Phil, Cliff, and Malcolm lay down the rhythm, it is unbeatable! Malcolm knew his craft intensely. His reasoning for people coming back to see them, reigns true in my world. First saw them in 79, with Nugent and went on to see them 47 more times up to 2008. Ya never knew what was gonna happen on the stage, in the parking lot, in some local alley, bar, etc. AC/DC brought magic and mischief to town, each visit. Saw most of my shows in NYC,NJ,MA,MA and PA. Each tour, I go to ever local arena to see them. At least in the greater metropolitan area. Me and my buddies would party hardy before all shows and go and rock out and get some vented aggression out by air guitaring through the shows, LOL. It was the best vibe ever, for a rock and roll show. We came in legions to see them. Me and my buddies even made a "BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN SUCKS" banner which we brought to many NYC/NJ shows. People used to cheer at us, LOLOLOL. Man, those were the days.

One of the things I love about AC/DC is how- as they all say here- they’ve just been who they are for 45 years. They’re a great example of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” If they need a new singer, drummer, guitarist just do what you have to do and carry on.
These guys never went through their “adult contemporary” phase with polished up sounds and drum machines like so many other rockers did in the 80’s and, as far as I can tell, there was never any big-ego drama that caused Van Halen like break ups and feuds and years of lost time.
AC/DC has just kept churning out vocals, two guitars, bass and drum, blues influenced rock for almost 50 years and we love them for it.

This is hands down one of the best AC/DC interviews I have ever seen.
    Too short though.
Alot of Malcolm showing why he was one of the most important parts of the band.
All the guys really don't like talking about themselves so this was a nice break from that.

Notice how it still grooves even when Mals trying to play a ”stiff” beat.

Still hard to take, that Mal is gone. Christ, I've been going to see him with the band since 1979.Waited for every new release and never gave up on AC/DC.
Just turned 55 and I rock to DC every fuckin day of my life. Even through my covid battle.
Mal is an inspiration to all, looking to start a band. Just don't bullshit the lessons he's given ya.
    Rest in peace, Uncle Mal.

AC/DC is Mal's baby. You can tell he was extremely proud of it. As he should be.

If it aint broke don't fix it. Thank god they stayed true to themselves and what they knew sounded good. Whenever these new kids on the block play an ACDC cover the whole joint erupts, you can't resist their music. Thanks boys

I wish we had more interviews with just Malcolm. I'd love to hear more of his philosophy and ideas.

So glad they reunited back together for another album. Hopefully they'll be able to tour and other bands too. My favorite band is Duran Duran and been back together since 2004 and does have a new album too.

I first saw AC/DC on Australian TV in late '74 or early '75. They were playing "Baby please don't go." The lead singer was was wearing a school girl uniform with an Annie Oakley style wig and knickers and he lit up a cigarette as part of the act (imagine doing that in a tv studio these days). The lead guitarist was dressed as a school boy who looked about fifteen but could he burn up the fretboard! At the time you had Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Bad Company doing the rounds but Acca Dacca had such a distinct sound. For me, Bon Scott was and always will be their lead vocalist.
