      All you need is a guitar, a cord, and a cranked Plexi style amp for their brand of Rn'R...the only exception is if you get the wireless gear like Angus uses, but still, they kept it all very basic for good reason. AC/DC is the best example of what Marshall tone is all about IMO. Even EVH played on a cranked plexi with NO distortion pedals in his early days, and I believe his amp was pretty much un-modded also.

    I actually met his brother malcom once and didn't even know it at the time. It was november 1983 after an ac/dc concert in roanoke va. After the concert, my friend and i were hanging around the parking lot waiting for all the traffic to clear out so we could get to our car and get out of there. Around midnight two guys came walking out of where the tractor trailer rigs were parked and one of them came up and said "Hey friend, you got an extra smoke to spare?" I said "yeah man" and flipped a couple of cigarettes out of the pack and handed it to them. They fired them up, took a couple of drags and said thank's man, then walked away. My friend said "do you know who that guy with the foreign accent was? That is Malcom young, Angus Young's older brother. I said, why didn't you say something while he was standing right there next to us? He said, i don't know man i guess i was too nervous to say anything. Well, that was the night i met the founder of A/C D/C and missed the chance to talk to a rock -n- roll legend!

    That is what I call a role model: for me one of the 10 best guitar players (I do not think there is THE best, there is just a "top league") ever in history of rock music and such a humble and modest personality!

    I've never understood this guy, he never articulates what he does particularly well but he gets up there and plays these blisteringly good guitar solos that just come out of nowhere. He has no equal. That fast vibrato he has is as much of a trademark as you can get.

    • @tarlokmann3981

      Also he never really progressed in any real way from about two or three albums in. I agree about his energetic vibrato power though fucking awesome!

      ACDC found the formula for success and kept replicating it. No need to progress if thats what the people want.

      @Goosecore Yes, but Blackmore was pissed, 'cause he couldn't jam with AC/DC in the Marquee back in 1976. This new generation who shits on previous music, including AC/DC, is mostly by those "intellectual" and "sophisticated" portion of metalheads , who think music as a race and competition, but can't play oldschool songs properly and thinks only metal is nuanced and worthy.

    • @matefulop113
      @matefulop113 4 года назад

      @Goosecore I must and have to salute AC/DC and especially Malcolm Young for sticking up for his vision. It's easier to join the shallow, commercial side of bubblegum music (but I don't mean mianstream = bad) to fit in, especially when your record label is about to drop you, cause you are not succesfull enough. Yes AC/DC is about having a good time, while they are providig an awesome rock & roll soundtrack to your life. One aspect of AC/DC's music many (mostly white) musicians don't get is, they are playing "black music" with a "black menatality". I'm not trying to steer this conversation to a topic about race, but I think it's important, to note, that many black musician serve the music first and foremost and don't try show and bring his/her own ego into the mix - while, I feel, several "white musicians" do, especially in metal, which I don't like very much, because of this very reason. I find that I gravitate more to "black music", such as Jazz, Blues, R&b, Soul, Gospel and Rock & Roll, as Angus and Malcolm did, when they were young (no pun intended). The brothers also adopted this philosophy - coming from black culture - and this mentality also helped them to achive global succes while sticking to their vision and having mostly a good time in their carriers. This difference is the reason, why "Become the Knight" guy and many other alikes will never get AC/DC and several others bands, who just play and enjoy music while not worrying about, what the others might think about them. Mustain and Hetfield are the best fit in their respective bands. Those bands work also, cause 4 good musicians, who also go together very well can create magic. Several musicians and fans need to learn more about the differences between the genres of music in order to not make many false claims and ignorant comments, when they criticise music, they don't like or not familiar with.

    I only just became a fan of ACDC. I had listened to their music but had never seen them perform. Oh how I regret that. They are superb. Amazing. Angus is so incredible on stage. I went to see an ACDC tribute band recently and couldn't believe the performance . So I googled ACDC concerts and it blew me away. I think Angus should rank up there as one of the top guitarist and performers on stage in the world. He gives 110% to each performance. Plus he is such a nice guy in person. He seems very humble even though he is so famous. What a great guy as are the others in the band.

    At 13:00 I love how he disses the pedals. I love it. I read an interview where a producer said.."If you want the Angus Young sound...take a Gibson SG...plug it into a Marshall Stack, turn it up to 10, give to Angus and there you go...." genius....
